Danielle Staub Would Give Melissa Gorga a Run for Her Money If She Returned to RHONJ – Danielle Outs Melissa on WWHL
WWHL Update 9/9/2013: Danielle was shown clips of what the current Housewives said about her during their appearances on WWHL. The following are her comments after watching each clip.
On Caroline saying that if she could take back a moment on the show, it would be her meeting with Danielle, because she was mean to her – she called her a clown:
That would be the moment? The clown moment? Really?! I’m not buying it. But thank you.
On Teresa feeling an alliance with Danielle, in hindsight:
I love Teresa. I have absolutely no problems with Teresa. I really feel like she was probably stuck in between friendship and a kinship with a family that she’s known for the better part of her life and in trying to create a friendship with me. I think she was manipulated by a lot by them. Like she said, I did know things but it’s not my place. I know things about all of them. It’s not my place. In time, everyone exposes themselves – I think I said that. And I do truly believe that she feels remorse. I felt her heart when she was just speaking, and I believe it. I believe her.
On Jacqueline saying Danielle stalks her and says horrible things about her:
I think she needs to put the wine away and possibly seek help for that. I have not been around her. I haven’t tweeted, I haven’t talked. If you wanna check timelines – the internet, you can’t erase it – we all know that. We all have regrets on that. And I think that probably she might possibly be the worst example of somebody creating a truth. You know, I moved on from her the moment that she showed me her true colors. And I did genuinely hug her goodbye (at the end of the season 2 reunion special) because I felt like we had a relationship at one time, and I felt bad for her because I knew she was again caught in between family and friendship. But, in time, after that, when I thought that we were just going to move on from it, I would just read just horrific things on Twitter, and I just knew then that was just never going to be someone that I could move on from.
On Melissa saying Danielle in-boxed her on Facebook about the sprinkle cookies and that she never met her in person:
Well, the one truth in there is that we did never meet; however, it was because I wouldn’t allow that to happen. She wanted to film during season 2, and she thought it would be a good way to get back at Teresa. And I said I wanted absolutely nothing to do with that, however, I would forward all her e-mails, which were a lot, to the producers, which I did. Which is how, after two seasons of her being behind the scenes – on camera but behind the scenes – she all the sudden became a person of interest and that’s how she landed on the show. Um, I think that it would be good for her to just come clean. I wanted nothing to do with what she wanted to do to Teresa. It’s not my place. I don’t play with that. Karma has a return policy and it isn’t an exchange.
It would be an interesting battle between Danielle Staub and Melissa Gorga if Danielle were to return to the show. The following are things that Danielle and Melissa have/had in common:
- Both did not like Teresa Giudice
- Both tried to launch music careers
- Both wrote memoirs
- Both were exotic dancers
- Both tried same sex relationships
In May 2010, when her memoir, “The Naked Truth,” hit book shelves, Danielle went on a national book tour, the same thing that Melissa will be doing when her memoir hits shelves on September 17, 2013.
Danielle would have something to say to Melissa about her friendship with Kim G – Melissa and Kathy were buddies with Kim G in season 3 (Kim G was ousted from the show early that season).
In an interview with PopEater in June 2010 (video below), Danielle said she is not the reason Dina left the show, plus she commented about Teresa “pretending that she’s rich.” And about all her RHONJ castmates, Danielle said:
“In me, they have all seen a little piece of them. Those women completely broke my spirit.”
Bravo recently ran a marathon of past seasons of RHONJ, and fans went on Twitter to express their support for Danielle. Many pointed out the spa party at Danielle’s home in season 1 episode 3 (“Not One of Us”) where, during Botox injections and lip plumping, Dina threw some zingers at Danielle, for which she apologized in her Bravo blog for the episode (also read Danielle, Jacqueline, Caroline, and Teresa’s Bravo blogs for the episode). The following are some of those tweets and Danielle’s replies.

@Caseylew @daniellestaub I still feel in my gut it was Jacqueline who told Danielle everything about Dina. J wanted to bring Dina down. IMO!
During the same interview with PopEater, there is a clip of Danielle singing live (“Real Close,” featuring Lori Michaels) on WWHL.
In 2010, after leaving RHONJ (reports say she wasn’t invited back for season 3), Danielle backed out of a three-year contract to dance at the gentlemen’s club Scores and was sued for $375,000 by the establishment in May 2011. However, a judge ruled in favor of Danielle, stating that because the contract was “vague,” it didn’t hold up in a court of law. The judge also stated that Scores failed to show why Danielle had a “legal obligation to continue working for the gentlemen’s club after taking a $25,000 payment to perform in a stripper video in 2010.” The New York Daily News reported the following:
The reality star is being sued for allegedly breaking their agreement, which required not only an appearance at the Manhattan location, but also on the company’s site ScoresLive.com. Photos of 48-year-old Staub lounging around in various states of undress and working a stripper pole began circulating earlier this week. Shortly after, she revealed to People that she has “addictions with love and low self-esteem.” The former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast member told the magazine she had “walked away” from the three-year Scores deal, which she had allegedly been “coaxed” into, and planned to seek psychological help. But a lawsuit, reportedly filed in April, claims Staub was paid $25,000 upfront for a November video shoot – which led to the aforementioned pictures recently released – but then didn’t follow through on any of the other requirements of the deal.
During an interview with HLN in August 2011 (video below), Danielle talked about her thoughts of suicide after season 2 of RHONJ:
“This reality television is something we sign on for, but when it becomes extremely gang related and brutal towards even one person, and you’re pointed out as that person, I can understand that feeling, I related to it and I emphasize with everything that they’re all going through [referencing the cast of RHOBH and Russell Armstrong’s suicide].” The interviewer asked if she considered it group bullying, to which Danielle replied: “It really had nothing to do with production or the network, in my experience. It was my cast, wanting to live out their lies of a life through dragging up things that I did as a child and then making that into the entire storyline. And not only that, embellishing it, defaming me, demeaning me, making me feel like I was a lesser important person than them. Calling me – names do hurt sometimes – you know, garbage. I, I, I don’t associate with people like that. And I felt like having my children around that negative experience (interviewer interrupts). My thoughts of suicide were results of the way my cast treated me. And as a result of the way my cast treated me, and then them dragging up my past from when I was a child, younger than their children, um, that put me into some very dark places, which I had already surpassed and already survived.”
Danielle told People magazine in May 2011 that she walked away after her stripping appearance at Scores and is seeking treatment for psychological problems rooted in childhood sexual abuse.
“I have addictions with love and low self-esteem, and I need help!” Staub, 48, says after photos of her dancing nude at Scores in New York appeared on the Internet. “My low self-esteem derived from childhood sexual abuse has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial,” she says. “For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure. “Seeing how I have hurt myself and my family this time,” she continues, “I can no longer push it behind me.” Staub says she was “coaxed” into signing the appearance with Scores by her past handlers, but adds, “I have to own my mistakes and can’t blame others.” She says she has since “walked away” from the deal.
Melissa and Kathy snarked on Danielle in the video below.
On September 3, 2012, Andy Cohen teased fans on Twitter by hinting that Danielle would be making an appearance during season 5. A FW source said that Danielle and Teresa met on March 10, 2013, and may have taped a scene together – perhaps Danielle and Teresa apologized to each other, agreeing to put the past behind them.
Danielle Staub will be Andy Cohen’s guest on WWHL after the premiere of RHONJ season 5 episode 15 on September 8, 2013.
“I was watching the RHONJ episode 15 on the second run before WWHL, and during a commercial break for RHONJ, Andy came on with Danielle promoting WWHL: Andy said that it was going to be live and Danielle said that that was the only way she would agree to do the show. I think it was so that (1) her words wouldn’t get edited, and (2) so she could put him on the spot by asking him that question about her being fired versus her leaving on her own free will.” [Nancy, September 9, 2013, Fame-Whorgas]
