Al Manzo is Cheating on Caroline with Long-time Girlfriend Named Jill (Exclusive)
A source exclusively told Fame-Whorgas in January 2013 that Al Manzo has been cheating on Caroline for the past five or six years with a woman named Jill, and Caroline has known about the affair for three or more years, catching them numerous times, even at The Brownstone apartment. The source also says that the affair is an open secret, and in their circle of friends (Al’s, Caroline’s and Jill’s), “everyone knows” about it.
According to a source, Teresa, along with Kim D, “tried to push” Penny Drossos-Karagiorgis to out Al as a cheater on camera at the season 5 holiday PFS on December 3, 2012 because Caroline was always criticizing Teresa’s marriage, but Penny declined and explained that “she doesn’t attack without first being attacked” and said that the “Manzos have never done anything negative to, or said anything negative about, her or her family, unlike Melissa Gorga.”
The Giudices along with Kim D, Jennifer Dalton, Penny and Priscilla DiStasio were present for the holiday PFS on December 3, 2012 – the rest of the cast did not attend. Footage from this event has not been included in season 5 thus far, even though it was taped early on. Looking at the photos below, the event could have been taped in any month since there are no holiday decorations on display, so perhaps Bravo is planning to use this footage for the season finale.
In season 4, Caroline and Al taped a scene in the apartment above The Brownstone, and Caroline didn’t seem too pleased when Al tried to bring a little romance into it (screen shots above).
Satire from Reality Redone:
At the love nest above the Brownstone…
ALBERT MANZO – Remember how much fun I used to have up here with other women that are not you?
CAROLINE MANZO – Huh?
ALBERT MANZO – Shit. I meant with you. Remember how much fun I used to have with you?
CAROLINE MANZO – Don’t worry. I can look past anything if you keep buying me Jaguars.
ALBERT MANZO – Even in spite of my rampant, in your-face philandering, we’ve done pretty well as a couple, eh?
CAROLINE MANZO – Yep. Your dad was murdered, convicted felon Bernie Kerik is among our best friends, and our children haven’t really found any career or personal success.
ALBERT MANZO – But don’t forget that we have a show on Bravo. We’re in the company of people like Big Poppa and the Count and Countess of De Lesseps.
CAROLINE MANZO – True dat.
On June 5, 2013, Penny tweeted about “Jill” after she directed a tweet to “Chuckie,” saying, “I haven’t started with you yet.” This is apparently a veiled threat to Caroline about exposing Al’s affair with Jill:
“Then for #Chuckie of all people to claim I ‘started shit’… I haven’t started w/ u yet. YOUR time has come. Can’t believe I felt bad 4 U! Oh how I miss my girls Nina & Lisa. I can’t wait to do a lil shopping at D’Amore Jewelers. Then off to #GlenRock to see JILL #GirlPower.”
According to a source who was present at the grand opening of Posche 2 on March 30, 2013, the reason for Penny’s change of heart toward Caroline is because she yelled at Penny: “You did this! This is all your fault! I hope you’re happy about getting in between a brother and sister!”, and Penny screamed back, “Fuck you, you old hag! And you’re all wrong! I was trying to protect you because I felt sorry for you!”
Will Love, a friend of Penny, tweeted on August 11, 2013, about the exchange that took place at the Holiday PFS on December 3, 2012, saying that Teresa did initiate the topic of cheating husbands, which wouldn’t have been unusual since the rest of the cast frequently talk about her marriage:
“Teresa did initiate the topic of cheating husbands 1st so it wouldn’t be Bravo’s PR’s fault. I really hope Andy shows Posche. HOWEVER even though Teresa did initiate conversation I did not see anything wrong with it. They always talk about her marriage! They brought the topic up to Penny. She answered. They agreed. Simple as that. PFS was an action-packed filming. MUCH more! … At least with boring Caroline they can make Al’s mistress a storyline since topic was discussed in S5. I mean it. If Andy and BravoPR want 2 save #RHONJ cast Penny 2 expose Manzo affair + finish Melissa Gorga’s ‘past’ storyline. If Bravo PR edits out Manzo affair gossip this season & doesn’t continue it next = their loss.”
According to the source, the apartment above The Brownstone, rumored to be Al’s love nest, is not the only place where Al and Jill, who is 46-48 years old, spend time together (he also spends time with her at her home in Glen Rock, NJ).
RadarOnline (if you can believe them) also covered the story:
While at the Posche Fashion Show last year, Teresa and Kim D ran into Le Chateau Allure salon owner Penny Drossos and probed her for information on which husbands from the hit Bravo show were not being faithful to their wives.
“Penny was a little bit hesitant to speak with them, but Teresa and Kim were relentless in their pursuit of digging up dirt on their fellow housewives. Teresa and Kim rattled off the names of all the men and when they got to Albert Manzo it was clear that was who Penny was suggesting is having an affair. When Penny wouldn’t elaborate Teresa shrugged it off and made a cruel remark about how everybody knows about his affair and inferred that it has been going on for what seems like forever.”
In season 5 episode 11, Albie Manzo said to his mother, Caroline:
“I worry about you and dad. Do you even know each other at all? You’ve only seen each other once a week for the last 30 years.”
The Brownstone in Paterson is 5.2 miles and an 11-minute drive from the Manzo’s home in Franklin Lakes, so spending the night at the apartment above it rather than driving home every night doesn’t make sense, except if you’re having an affair.
Albert coming home only one night a week was first mentioned by the Manzo’s children in season 1. In season 1 episode 9 (the “Lost Footage” episode in the screen shot below), the Manzo family, while dining out, talked about it.
This season, in episodes 5 and 11, Albie and Christopher talked about it again (see transcript below), and Caroline admitted Al was absent a lot throughout their marriage:
Caroline and her kids are in her Hoboken apartment, talking as she cooks.
Caroline: We were out to dinner the other night, and Daddy said? “You know what I’m going to do? For the whole month of January, I’m going to Europe.” I can’t even get 24 hours!
Christopher TH: My Dad’s always working, I totally get that. But I don’t think that a lot of couples could withstand what my parents have withstood. It’s not the white picket fence life that everyone expects when they’re growing up.
Albie: I grew up in a marriage where my Dad worked very hard and didn’t always have time to talk to Mom. In our dating lives now, girls are not OK with that.
Caroline: You have to find a girl that understands the way I understood.
Albie TH: I definitely look up to my parents’ marriage big time. I would rather be insanely happy with somebody I see once a week than mediocrity seven days a week. I don’t want that.
Christopher: I know two very happy marriages. Both of them, their husbands work and they never see their wives. You guys only see each other once a week. You barely know each other.
Caroline: That’s not true.
Christopher: Tell me how it’s not?
Caroline: It may not be quantity, but it’s quality.
Caroline TH: Children learn what they live. My children have a different view on family life because Al was absent a lot.
Later, Al and Caroline are in their Hoboken apartment.
Caroline: Vito wants to get engaged. Lauren wants nothing to do with it. She wants to get Cafface rolling. Albie says he’s not going to find the right kind of girl because nobody’s going to understand the hours he works. Chris is not even looking. Chris is like on another planet.
Caroline TH: I think the three of them have committed themselves to being financially secure. Their priorities, work [then] personal; and you worry about that. Look, my husband did it, but my husband missed out on a lot in life. And still is. And I don’t want my kids to do that.
Caroline to Al: They’re all work, work, work, make their fortunes. You created monsters!
Al: That’s horseshit.
Caroline: You’re all going to miss out on so many things.
Al: It don’t look like they’re missing out on much from where I’m sitting!
The microwave goes off.
Al: There’s no way we’re selling the house!
In 2013, Caroline and Al rented a condo in Hoboken (where Albie and Christopher rent an apartment), and Caroline told Us Weekly that they may be selling their Franklin Lakes home. Hoboken is a much longer drive from The Brownstone than Franklin Lakes, and considering Al only comes home one night out of the week to their Franklin Lakes home, Caroline shouldn’t be expecting Al to be spending much time with her in Hoboken either.
“Truth be told Caroline has nothing to say about a marriage of 30 years when they only co-habitated for (according to the Manzo kids and Caroline herself) approximately 1 day a week – 52 days x 30 years averages out to be 4 years and 3 months… Congratulations Caroline, you will be coming up on 5 years soon!!” – PoconoMt.Pa.housewife, July 12, 2013, Melissa’s Bravo Blog
When her book “Let Me Tell You Something: Life as a Real Housewife, Tough-Love Mother, and Street-Smart Businesswoman” was about to hit book shelves, Caroline addressed rumors about Al’s infidelity, and she didn’t exactly deny allegations that her husband has cheated on her.
On June 13, 2013, Caroline, Jacqueline and Melissa visited The View
, and Caroline addressed comments about Al cheating on her. She said that she is “logical in the way she thinks” and she “never said Al has cheated on her,” but that the “odds are against them since they have been together since they were 18 years old.” And on July 12, 2013, Caroline told EnStars “the chances are pretty good that something happened along the lines in life.”
“I am very realistic when I look at life. All I said is that Al and I have been together since we were 18 and 19 years old, so I think the chances are pretty good that something happened along the lines in life. What is crazy to me is that everybody beat up on my poor husband, but really he has those odds against him as well. No one ever asked, ‘Could Caroline have cheated on Al?’ Everybody just picked up on that one story and ran with it. My poor husband got beat up about that, but it works both ways. It could have been me who cheated — or neither of us. It was just a thought, but everyone just went crazy with it. After so many years, it is just having breakfast together and going out to lunch and having a grilled cheese sandwich and enjoying it. I’m just happy to have him around.” – EnStars (Event at Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check), July 12, 2013 (Caroline and Albert had recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary)
Caroline told In Touch on March 20, 2013 that “if Al cheated on her 25 years ago, one night, that was then and this is now,” and if it “didn’t happen yesterday, last week or a month ago, she’s not worried about it.” She added that “no one could say with 100 percent certainty that their partner never cheated” and that “you can’t throw you marriage away over a one-night stand.”
“If Al cheated on me 25 years ago, one night, that was then and this is now. No one on this planet could say with 100 percent certainty that their partner never cheated. I have no indication that he has, but if it didn’t happen yesterday, last week, a month ago, I’m not worried about it… If your husband is a good guy and a provider and you have a tremendous connection, you can’t throw your marriage away over a one-night stand. My husband is my best friend. Marriage is worth the fight. I would go to hell and back for him and he would do the same.” – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Caroline Manzo Confesses: “If My Husband Cheated, I Would Forgive Him”, March 20, 2013, In Touch
In another interview on March 20, 2013, with New York Daily News, Caroline said that she “doesn’t believe there were any long-term affairs” and that she has “no indications” that Al cheated on her “here or there along the way.” However, she said, “logic tells me,” without finishing her thought, and added that she “can’t worry about 20 years ago.”
“I know the man I married. He’s a good man. But he’s a man. I don’t believe there were any long-term affairs. If that were the case, this story would end differently. If something happened here or there along the way, it’s very possible. I have no inclination of that, but logic tells me …” the words drift off before she finishes the thought. “I can’t worry about 20 years ago.” – Caroline Manzo talks about family, feuds and Teresa Giudice as her new book arrives , March 20, 2013, New York Daily News
In interviews to promote her book, Caroline said she would take her husband back if he ever cheated on her. [BravoTV’s The Dish, March 22, 2013, Caroline Manzo: “If Al Cheated“]
During the reunion special for season 4, which premiered in September 2012, the cast commented about Joe Giudice’s phone call in Napa, and Teresa made it a point to tell Caroline to worry about her own marriage. Shortly after reunion 4 premiered, Bravo re-ran the “lost footage” episode from season 1, where the Manzos talk about Al only coming home one night out of the week.
Before the season 5 premiere, Bravo re-ran season 2 episode 9 (Posche Spite), where Caroline whines about all her kids leaving home. During this scene, she and Al have a discussion in their kitchen about Al retiring, and he tells her that’s never going to happen:
A: What can I do about it (her empty next), really? What can I do for you?
C: Maybe you should retire.
Al pauses, grimaces, looks to the sides, but doesn’t respond.
Caroline TH: It’s a very challenging time in my life. Al’s at work, my kids are gone, I don’t like being alone. And Albert doesn’t quite get it. It’s tough. It makes me sad.
C: I turnaround and they’re gone (her kids). Here I am in this house, with the dogs.
A: Well you know, you still have three kids living here. It’s not exactly like you’re alone.
C: I know but the clock is ticking. If you don’t retire I’m going to be crazy! You want a crazy person to come home to? Cuz what am I going to do? Sit home and talk to the dogs in this big empty house (pauses but Al says nothing)? You have to retire.
A: I’m not going to retire! I’m not going to stop working.
C: Slow it down! Slow it down!
A: I’m mean, I’m gonna die working. I’m not ever going to stop completely working. Alright, I gotta go. You get bored, give me a call. Maybe I’ll buy you lunch.
C: I’ll have to make an appointment to see you? (Al sighs but doesn’t respond)
Caroline TH: Albert reacted as I expected him to. He has been working like a madman for the past 30 years. He doesn’t want to talk about it because he knows every time I talk about it, I get upset.
Why would Bravo follow-up the reunion special for season 4, where Teresa tells Caroline to worry about her own marriage, with a re-run of lost footage from season 1 where the Manzos talk about Al only coming home one night out of the week, plus a re-run from season 2 where Al says he’s never going to retire? You have to wonder if Bravo was sending viewers a message about the Manzo’s marriage because their plan is to expose Al as a cheater in season 5 (probably using Teresa to do it).
