Al Manzo is Cheating on Caroline with Long-time Girlfriend Named Jill (Exclusive)

August 16, 2013

tre 545

A source exclusively told Fame-Whorgas in January 2013 that Al Manzo has been cheating on Caroline for the past five or six years with a woman named Jill, and Caroline has known about the affair for three or more years, catching them numerous times, even at The Brownstone apartment. The source also says that the affair is an open secret, and in their circle of friends (Al’s, Caroline’s and Jill’s), “everyone knows” about it.

According to a source, Teresa, along with Kim D, “tried to push” Penny Drossos-Karagiorgis to out Al as a cheater on camera at the season 5 holiday PFS on December 3, 2012 because Caroline was always criticizing Teresa’s marriage, but Penny declined and explained that “she doesn’t attack without first being attacked” and said that the “Manzos have never done anything negative to, or said anything negative about, her or her family, unlike Melissa Gorga.”

The Giudices along with Kim D, Jennifer Dalton, Penny and Priscilla DiStasio were present for the holiday PFS on December 3, 2012 – the rest of the cast did not attend. Footage from this event has not been included in season 5 thus far, even though it was taped early on. Looking at the photos below, the event could have been taped in any month since there are no holiday decorations on display, so perhaps Bravo is planning to use this footage for the season finale.

In season 4, Caroline and Al taped a scene in the apartment above The Brownstone, and Caroline didn’t seem too pleased when Al tried to bring a little romance into it (screen shots above).

Satire from Reality Redone:

At the love nest above the Brownstone…

ALBERT MANZO – Remember how much fun I used to have up here with other women that are not you?

ALBERT MANZO – Shit. I meant with you. Remember how much fun I used to have with you?

CAROLINE MANZO – Don’t worry. I can look past anything if you keep buying me Jaguars.

ALBERT MANZO – Even in spite of my rampant, in your-face philandering, we’ve done pretty well as a couple, eh?

CAROLINE MANZO – Yep. Your dad was murdered, convicted felon Bernie Kerik is among our best friends, and our children haven’t really found any career or personal success.

ALBERT MANZO – But don’t forget that we have a show on Bravo. We’re in the company of people like Big Poppa and the Count and Countess of De Lesseps.

On June 5, 2013, Penny tweeted about “Jill” after she directed a tweet to “Chuckie,” saying, “I haven’t started with you yet.” This is apparently a veiled threat to Caroline about exposing Al’s affair with Jill:

“Then for #Chuckie of all people to claim I ‘started shit’… I haven’t started w/ u yet. YOUR time has come. Can’t believe I felt bad 4 U! Oh how I miss my girls Nina & Lisa. I can’t wait to do a lil shopping at D’Amore Jewelers. Then off to #GlenRock to see JILL #GirlPower.”

According to a source who was present at the grand opening of Posche 2 on March 30, 2013, the reason for Penny’s change of heart toward Caroline is because she yelled at Penny: “You did this! This is all your fault! I hope you’re happy about getting in between a brother and sister!”, and Penny screamed back, “Fuck you, you old hag! And you’re all wrong! I was trying to protect you because I felt sorry for you!”

Will Love, a friend of Penny, tweeted on August 11, 2013, about the exchange that took place at the Holiday PFS on December 3, 2012, saying that Teresa did initiate the topic of cheating husbands, which wouldn’t have been unusual since the rest of the cast frequently talk about her marriage:

“Teresa did initiate the topic of cheating husbands 1st so it wouldn’t be Bravo’s PR’s fault. I really hope Andy shows Posche. HOWEVER even though Teresa did initiate conversation I did not see anything wrong with it. They always talk about her marriage! They brought the topic up to Penny. She answered. They agreed. Simple as that. PFS was an action-packed filming. MUCH more! … At least with boring Caroline they can make Al’s mistress a storyline since topic was discussed in S5.  I mean it. If Andy and BravoPR want 2 save #RHONJ cast Penny 2 expose Manzo affair + finish Melissa Gorga’s ‘past’ storyline. If Bravo PR edits out Manzo affair gossip this season & doesn’t continue it next = their loss.”

According to the source, the apartment above The Brownstone, rumored to be Al’s love nest, is not the only place where Al and Jill, who is 46-48 years old, spend time together (he also spends time with her at her home in Glen Rock, NJ).

RadarOnline (if you can believe them) also covered the story:

While at the Posche Fashion Show last year, Teresa and Kim D ran into Le Chateau Allure salon owner Penny Drossos and probed her for information on which husbands from the hit Bravo show were not being faithful to their wives.

“Penny was a little bit hesitant to speak with them, but Teresa and Kim were relentless in their pursuit of digging up dirt on their fellow housewives. Teresa and Kim rattled off the names of all the men and when they got to Albert Manzo it was clear that was who Penny was suggesting is having an affair. When Penny wouldn’t elaborate Teresa shrugged it off and made a cruel remark about how everybody knows about his affair and inferred that it has been going on for what seems like forever.”

In season 5 episode 11, Albie Manzo said to his mother, Caroline:

“I worry about you and dad. Do you even know each other at all? You’ve only seen each other once a week for the last 30 years.”

The Brownstone in Paterson is 5.2 miles and an 11-minute drive from the Manzo’s home in Franklin Lakes, so spending the night at the apartment above it rather than driving home every night doesn’t make sense, except if you’re having an affair.

Albert coming home only one night a week was first mentioned by the Manzo’s children in season 1. In season 1 episode 9 (the “Lost Footage” episode in the screen shot below), the Manzo family, while dining out, talked about it.

This season, in episodes 5 and 11, Albie and Christopher talked about it again (see transcript below), and Caroline admitted Al was absent a lot throughout their marriage:

Caroline and her kids are in her Hoboken apartment, talking as she cooks.

Caroline: We were out to dinner the other night, and Daddy said? “You know what I’m going to do? For the whole month of January, I’m going to Europe.” I can’t even get 24 hours!

Christopher TH: My Dad’s always working, I totally get that. But I don’t think that a lot of couples could withstand what my parents have withstood. It’s not the white picket fence life that everyone expects when they’re growing up.

Albie: I grew up in a marriage where my Dad worked very hard and didn’t always have time to talk to Mom. In our dating lives now, girls are not OK with that.

Caroline: You have to find a girl that understands the way I understood.

Albie TH: I definitely look up to my parents’ marriage big time. I would rather be insanely happy with somebody I see once a week than mediocrity seven days a week. I don’t want that.

Christopher: I know two very happy marriages. Both of them, their husbands work and they never see their wives. You guys only see each other once a week. You barely know each other.

Caroline: That’s not true.

Christopher: Tell me how it’s not?

Caroline: It may not be quantity, but it’s quality.

Caroline TH: Children learn what they live. My children have a different view on family life because Al was absent a lot.

Later, Al and Caroline are in their Hoboken apartment.

Caroline: Vito wants to get engaged. Lauren wants nothing to do with it. She wants to get Cafface rolling. Albie says he’s not going to find the right kind of girl because nobody’s going to understand the hours he works. Chris is not even looking. Chris is like on another planet.

Caroline TH: I think the three of them have committed themselves to being financially secure. Their priorities, work [then] personal; and you worry about that. Look, my husband did it, but my husband missed out on a lot in life. And still is. And I don’t want my kids to do that.

Caroline to Al: They’re all work, work, work, make their fortunes. You created monsters!

Al: That’s horseshit.

Caroline: You’re all going to miss out on so many things.

Al: It don’t look like they’re missing out on much from where I’m sitting!

The microwave goes off.

Al: There’s no way we’re selling the house!

In 2013, Caroline and Al rented a condo in Hoboken (where Albie and Christopher rent an apartment), and Caroline told Us Weekly that they may be selling their Franklin Lakes home. Hoboken is a much longer drive from The Brownstone than Franklin Lakes, and considering Al only comes home one night out of the week to their Franklin Lakes home, Caroline shouldn’t be expecting Al to be spending much time with her in Hoboken either.

cm 26

“Truth be told Caroline has nothing to say about a marriage of 30 years when they only co-habitated for (according to the Manzo kids and Caroline herself) approximately 1 day a week – 52 days x 30 years averages out to be 4 years and 3 months… Congratulations Caroline, you will be coming up on 5 years soon!!” – PoconoMt.Pa.housewife, July 12, 2013, Melissa’s Bravo Blog

When her book “Let Me Tell You Something: Life as a Real Housewife, Tough-Love Mother, and Street-Smart Businesswoman” was about to hit book shelves, Caroline addressed rumors about Al’s infidelity, and she didn’t exactly deny allegations that her husband has cheated on her.

On June 13, 2013, Caroline, Jacqueline and Melissa visited The View, and Caroline addressed comments about Al cheating on her. She said that she is “logical in the way she thinks” and she “never said Al has cheated on her,” but that the “odds are against them since they have been together since they were 18 years old.” And on July 12, 2013, Caroline told EnStars “the chances are pretty good that something happened along the lines in life.”

“I am very realistic when I look at life. All I said is that Al and I have been together since we were 18 and 19 years old, so I think the chances are pretty good that something happened along the lines in life. What is crazy to me is that everybody beat up on my poor husband, but really he has those odds against him as well. No one ever asked, ‘Could Caroline have cheated on Al?’ Everybody just picked up on that one story and ran with it. My poor husband got beat up about that, but it works both ways. It could have been me who cheated — or neither of us. It was just a thought, but everyone just went crazy with it. After so many years, it is just having breakfast together and going out to lunch and having a grilled cheese sandwich and enjoying it. I’m just happy to have him around.” – EnStars (Event at Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check), July 12, 2013 (Caroline and Albert had recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary)

Caroline told In Touch on March 20, 2013 that “if Al cheated on her 25 years ago, one night, that was then and this is now,” and if it “didn’t happen yesterday, last week or a month ago, she’s not worried about it.” She added that “no one could say with 100 percent certainty that their partner never cheated” and that “you can’t throw you marriage away over a one-night stand.”

“If Al cheated on me 25 years ago, one night, that was then and this is now. No one on this planet could say with 100 percent certainty that their partner never cheated. I have no indication that he has, but if it didn’t happen yesterday, last week, a month ago, I’m not worried about it… If your husband is a good guy and a provider and you have a tremendous connection, you can’t throw your marriage away over a one-night stand. My husband is my best friend. Marriage is worth the fight. I would go to hell and back for him and he would do the same.” – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Caroline Manzo Confesses: “If My Husband Cheated, I Would Forgive Him”, March 20, 2013, In Touch

cm 29

In another interview on March 20, 2013, with New York Daily News, Caroline said that she “doesn’t believe there were any long-term affairs” and that she has “no indications” that Al cheated on her “here or there along the way.” However, she said, “logic tells me,” without finishing her thought, and added that she “can’t worry about 20 years ago.”

“I know the man I married. He’s a good man. But he’s a man. I don’t believe there were any long-term affairs. If that were the case, this story would end differently. If something happened here or there along the way, it’s very possible. I have no inclination of that, but logic tells me …” the words drift off before she finishes the thought. “I can’t worry about 20 years ago.” – Caroline Manzo talks about family, feuds and Teresa Giudice as her new book arrives , March 20, 2013, New York Daily News

In interviews to promote her book, Caroline said she would take her husband back if he ever cheated on her. [BravoTV’s The Dish, March 22, 2013, Caroline Manzo: “If Al Cheated“]

During the reunion special for season 4, which premiered in September 2012, the cast commented about Joe Giudice’s phone call in Napa, and Teresa made it a point to tell Caroline to worry about her own marriage. Shortly after reunion 4 premiered, Bravo re-ran the “lost footage” episode from season 1, where the Manzos talk about Al only coming home one night out of the week.

Before the season 5 premiere, Bravo re-ran season 2 episode 9 (Posche Spite), where Caroline whines about all her kids leaving home. During this scene, she and Al have a discussion in their kitchen about Al retiring, and he tells her that’s never going to happen:

A: What can I do about it (her empty next), really? What can I do for you?

C: Maybe you should retire.

Al pauses, grimaces, looks to the sides, but doesn’t respond.

Caroline TH: It’s a very challenging time in my life. Al’s at work, my kids are gone, I don’t like being alone. And Albert doesn’t quite get it. It’s tough. It makes me sad.

C: I turnaround and they’re gone (her kids). Here I am in this house, with the dogs.

A: Well you know, you still have three kids living here. It’s not exactly like you’re alone.

C: I know but the clock is ticking. If you don’t retire I’m going to be crazy! You want a crazy person to come home to? Cuz what am I going to do? Sit home and talk to the dogs in this big empty house (pauses but Al says nothing)? You have to retire.

A: I’m not going to retire! I’m not going to stop working.

C: Slow it down! Slow it down!

A: I’m mean, I’m gonna die working. I’m not ever going to stop completely working. Alright, I gotta go. You get bored, give me a call. Maybe I’ll buy you lunch.

C: I’ll have to make an appointment to see you? (Al sighs but doesn’t respond)

Caroline TH: Albert reacted as I expected him to. He has been working like a madman for the past 30 years. He doesn’t want to talk about it because he knows every time I talk about it, I get upset.

Why would Bravo follow-up the reunion special for season 4, where Teresa tells Caroline to worry about her own marriage, with a re-run of lost footage from season 1 where the Manzos talk about Al only coming home one night out of the week, plus a re-run from season 2 where Al says he’s never going to retire? You have to wonder if Bravo was sending viewers a message about the Manzo’s marriage because their plan is to expose Al as a cheater in season 5 (probably using Teresa to do it).

Do I think Al cheated, yes. Do I think Caroline would leave him over it even if it is a long term g/f – no. I think the only way she might leave him is if their were a “love child”, I don’t think she could handle that.

      August 16, 2013 at 4:13 PM

unless it was a boy, then she would steal him and raise him as her own and tell Lauren to move out so the new baby could have her room.

      • August 16, 2013 at 5:22 PM

I disagree as that would be the kicker if it were a boy (not insinuating there is a love child) she’d be livid. To me that would the kicker that would make her leave him. I know it was for my aunt — just my opinion.

Comments stem from the hypocrisy of Caroline meddling in other peoples marriages. I doubt anyone cares what Al Manzo does with his sex life.

No surprise if true. I remember that restaurant scene in season one when Caroline said he only came home one night a week. Back then, I thought they were such a great, fun, family and I remember thinking how odd that was but I just assumed the Brownstone was at least a two hour drive away from their home in Franklin Lakes. Ha! No joke. When I found out recently is was a 10 minute drive away, oh boy. What kind of life and marriage is that? What’s the point?
If the husband and father isn’t home at night, then there’s no father there to see how the kids day was, how school, their life, their friends not to mention spending time with your wife as well. If you’re phoning it in, all you’re doing is raising kids who don’t know what a real relationship and marriage and family is supposed to be.

No wonder Caroline is how she is – she’s been the controlling boss for too long. I always find it interesting when the kids flinch when Al speaks authoratively – it’s like they’re not use to it!

The thing I find most odd about this situation is: Once the children were old enough to stay alone at night (you know adulthood!), wouldn’t you go to where your husband is a couple nights a week? She does not work. So, she can move around at will.

I often thought how busy can he be? It’s not like he’s running a 1 man show he has his brother and a staff of how many?? He can’t hire a manager to work nights while he goes home to his family?? I call bullshit on all of it!!

      • August 17, 2013 at 12:42 AM

      • August 19, 2013 at 7:39 AM

I agree. Also, they keep calling it a restaurant, but its really a banquet facility. There’s not a real level of unpredictability, events are scheduled in advance. I’ve been there a few times. They have two events at a time. How much work goes into serving the same rubber chicken year after year??

Lets also not forget that Al had gotten into a little trouble here in Jersey when he tried to use his Brownstone apartment as his residence to run for public office, and he got shut down by Chris Christie. He has time to run politically, but NO time for family?

I think he wouldn’t divorce her, because she doesn’t deserve it, but he definitely has other “interests”. She knows it, it’s North Jersey- there’s literally 5 degrees of separation around here.

Off topic here but has anyone seen the new PEOPLE? It’s the August 26 issue. Absolutely awful mock of Teresa going to prison. Threw it in the trash. I subscribe, but it has been going down hill. Mistakes all the time. Even the paper is now thin, and mag bends easily. PEOPLE was already annoying me but after this I am cancelling my subscription. It was just so mean.

      August 17, 2013 at 8:28 AM

Have not seen it but I am not surprised ONLY because I am thinking back to how Jac “came out” about her son’s disorder. The way she made it a point to say that PEOPLE was reputable made me think that was a plug of some sort. I wouldn’t be surprised if Andy has some friend over at the mag.

I used to like PEOPLE In the 90s but got into Entertainment Weekly bc I felt like they were less biased (even before I knew what bias and framing and other media tricks were!! LOL). It is all profit driven and usually the advertisers are in the driver seat (with mags/TV) so I would be interested to know how many similar advertisers POEPLE and BRAVO have or if they are connected somehow. We know that there has been some alliances formed with In Touch and the other mag that puts nasty articles out about Teresa. But now PEOPLE? Ugh….Andy needs some mentoring from Oprah!!! 🙂

Ok Caroline, you keep selling that shit that all your kids want to do is work, work, work. Never in my life have I seen 3 lazier sacks of crap than those three things that you raised. You can keep throwing good money after bad and setting them up in businesses that they will run into the ground. Even your husband isn’t buying it. You may be able to manipulate everyone around you, but the entire audience can see that you raised 3 lazy sacks of shit who could barely make it through high school. You are a complete failure as a wife and mother.

    • Jacquie T
      August 20, 2013 at 12:15 AM

Yes – my thoughts exactly. I’m the same age as Lauren and I find her as a mother to be pathetic. But then again, I was raised by a strong single mother with a masters degree who worked for what we had. We didn’t have money to have a fridge filled with food, let alone ham to throw around as a ‘game’. What does she do all day? Socializing is tough, but so is being a lackluster member of society. Her kids lack direction…

Crittopher – a mindless, epic fail of a son, who seems to always be laughing about his predicament and maybe at the people around him who take him seriously. What education has he had? Why is he working for BLK? I would hire him at a company at the brink of shut down for a tax right off.

Albie – delusional, ideas of grandeur, believes he is seriously attacking the world and building a business; how sad. What is he doing at that restaurant (which is doomed to fail in this economy) besides cutting himself a cheque? Why do his parents always get him jobs for him? Why do they think he is the golden boy?

Lauren – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree; while she thinks she had a turnaround because shes been handed another business and now she is “focused on that” I’m sure that when it doesn’t meet expectations she will allow it to fail and invoice daddy the losses.

I find it hard to believe the Caroline thinks she is a successful mother. Simply put, if she isn’t a successful wife and mother, what is she? Absolutely nothing – and that truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

  11. August 16, 2013 at 3:37 PM

Well, I have always had a problem with Caroline in how she has raised her sons. Sorry to say this Caroline but boys are not better than girls and bad behavior is still bad behavior! You even encourage and laugh when they put their own sister down!

Hearing her brother Chris and her sons talk about wives and mistresses (like it is expected to have something on the side) shows just how little esteem she has for herself, for her daughter and for women in general.

Albert isn’t giving her quality time and she really doesn’t care as long as he pays the bills and supports her screwed up children. And now that we know just how close the Brownstone is to their home – LMAO – he appears to have never really liked the company of his wife or was compelled in any way to co parent with her. Sad life, rotten wife.

Bingo, bingo. Jill is doing that part. Probably another reason he may not want to be around the house. Most of Chuckies family is always staying because of this or that financial reason and maybe he is tired of always having his hand out because she has a big family. He could care less about that large house, it’s something to keep her satisfied. And here’s another thing that people should consider if they don’t believe he’s cheating on Chuckie. He’s partnered with his brother to run the Brownstone, he and him are in charge. You mean to tell me that Al couldn’t say I’m going home look after the place. He doesn’t want to be home with her pure and simple.

Exactly. That is not normal at all. She is kind of like a mafia wife. I guess this is why she craves so much attention from her sons. Also, didn’t he maintain the apt. so he could have that address for political purposes?

I do not get the Lauren lap band thing at all. She looks exactly the same to me. And BTW I never thought she looked bad. In season 1, I thought she was cute. But whenever she has the before-and-after shots, I think she maybe lost 10 lbs at the most. Mostly she has cuter clothes and big hair/makeup. Hardly enough to justify that extreme surgery.

    • YouOldMattress
      August 16, 2013 at 6:24 PM

I completely agree. Both my cousin and best friend had the lap band surgery and they both lost 100 pounds. I always thought that you had to be really heavy to even be able to get the surgery. Lauren never looked that big to me. I agree that what’s mostly different is her style (clothes, hair, makeup). She looks more glamorous.

Whoa! I think I’ve said it before, I don’t mind if Teresa gets her hands dirty – at some point you have to fight back but if this does happen, will she be villainesed by the timeline seeing as though they are friends now?

I have noticed a stark difference in Albert over the 5/6 years we’ve been watching him – he seemed dedicated in Italy but since then, quite angry. He didn’t exactly defend his wife on her Birthday weekend in Napa. She was in their room sobbing with no sounds of comfort.
I gotta ask, and it’s well documented here that I’m a supermodel, I wonder if the lap band makeover was his attempt at getting himself “together”? Certainly, you can’t dispute health reasons but the weight is creeping back on him. I wonder if he was doing it more out of vanity?

I think the Manzos are capable of playing this as a card ie Caroline would consent to it. It seems like all her chatter is either setting it up or extinguishing flames.

Now, the name Jill has been out there for AGES! I think it goes back to that blog where Missy contributed. It’s definitely been on twitter. Jill, Jill, Jill.

Another thought. We’ve been told that the Brownstone is in a questionable area. If they are so close, is it fair to assume they are on the fringes of wealth? Saddle – was it you?

In my country we have a title for peoe like all of them: Cubs. CASHED UP BOGANS! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogan
The CUB is a result of our mining boom. The Bigan however has been around forever – think Kath and Kim!

Thought as a Bergen County native I’d answer your question– I don’t know anything about their financial situation but I know where they live (my friend lives down the street, haha) and it is an extremely wealthy neighborhood. It is odd, in a way, that Paterson is only ten minutes away from wealth/extravagance but that is how it is. On the train line, you pass through Ridgewood (a very lovely town with a slightly more well-educated crowd than Franklin Lakes), Glen Rock (also a nice town), Fair Lawn (starting to slip a little, but still middle class) and then Paterson (very scary place to get lost in… which I have. lol.)

I did find it somewhat laughable the way they acted like the Brownstone is some opulent place– I would say it’s very nice (I actually think since the show started, they have really upped the ante– I was just there for a wedding and I was impressed) but it caters more to middle class folk (not that there’s anything wrong with that…) but not necessarily the “Franklin Lakes”/Upper Saddle River/Wyckoff crowd. A lot of people from Hawthorne (solidly middle class town) will have things there, and I remember I always used to ask my mom why no one in Wyckoff had their banquets/dinners at the Brownstone (usually that crowd went to Seasons, another catering facility) and she just said it wasn’t that classy but it was okay if you were on a budget.

Though, when my friend had her wedding there, it sounded very expensive… so I don’t know if their prices have changed.

      Just my small input 🙂

I used to work in Jersey and I went to a charity event at the Brownstone. I was surprised that it was located in a dangerous area like Patterson. The drive there stunk. It was a typical NJ/NY Italian catering hall. Most are owned by people with mafia connections. Not sure why… In NY and NJ people don’t get married at hotels, they go to catering halls. Anyway, Al was there managing. I thought the food was fantastic.

I love knowing information like this. I spent a few days in New Jersey several years ago. While we were visiting the city, we decided to visit some friends who, at that time, lived in Spring Lake. We stayed two nights. I loved Spring Lake. We ate at this great Mexican restaurant on 3rd Ave. Then they took us to some pizza place called Pete and Elda’s, I believe that is what it was called. Not certain what town that was in.

As another local – One way I describe the area is that anything north of Route 208/4 and West of 17 is nice. South of 17 and things get dicey fast. East of 17 is a wierd hodgepodge. Cross the Passaic River and it is a bit scary. I ride Bergen County express trains every day and cringe when I have to use a Main Line one. Once you cross over the river after Hawthorne it becomes a frightening place. You can see abandoned and burned out buildings from the train. The difference between Passaic and Bergen Counties can be striking – just like the difference between Bergen and Rockland (Monsey-Ramapo). The Brownstone is in an “okay” area but you are so right about it not being that classy. I remember being told years ago that there were no catering halls in Northwest Bergen because folks were used to having events in thier homes. Think of the houses up in the Heights in Ridgewood or along the East and West Roads in Saddle River. The Manor, or even that ticky-tacky wedding factory on 23 (Wayne Manor?) in Wayne are worlds better than The Brownstone. Paterson did used to be nice before the “white flight” in the 60’s. Amusingly – just like Teresa, I was born in Paterson….

Good point Sackem, why didn’t her hubby or anyone comfort her? Another thing that came to mind is maybe the boys and Lauren “distant”(lol) themselves from the Brownstone bc they were old enough to start seeing what Al was up to? In early episodes, much of the hub-bub took place at the Brownstone (back in the Dina days) and at one point, Caroline was trying to convince Lauren that’s where she could have a makeup business could succeed. Seems like the Brownstone was the epicenter of the show but not anymore-which was stupid on Bravo’s part if they were trying to make the Manzo’s the star??

Or I also recall Caroline saying that Al pushed the kids out of the Brownstone to spread their wings-again, maybe there is more to this? Maybe there is more to this??

I find it odd that a family that is “thick as thieves” would tell their kids to find other opportunities? Why wouldn’t he/they want the boys to carry on the family tradition that he and his wife are so proud of…? Weird to me… At one point, I think someone (probably Al) said that they didn’t want the kids to have the “hard restaurant ” life…umm, what do they think Little Town is??!!

Some stats… Franklin Lakes: Average per capita income, $79,852/yr. median home value, $1,216,520

Paterson: Average per capita income, $15,498/yr. median home value, $289,282. Although even Paterson has it’s wealthier residents also.

      Info from:

I’ve lived in NJ my entire life. It is not unusual at all to go just a few minutes out of wealthy areas to be in a not so nice area. It’s also not unusual for both wealthy and not so nice areas to be within the same city/town/borough. NJ is a densely populated state… it used to be the most densely populated per capita of all 50 states although Rhode Island took over that stat for a while. I think it’s NJ again. We’re also in very close proximity to NYC.

Don’t think that we don’t have nice open areas also because we do. We are known as the “Garden State” and there are still many farms throughout most of the state. We used to have the most horses per capita… that still may be true but I heard that stat a while back and can’t say for certain it’s still the case.

So… we have pockets of very densely populated areas surrounded by suburbs and there are also rural spots although not as rural as they once were. I’d say most cities, no matter where it is, there are areas where you wouldn’t want to walk at night.

I love NJ but it’s expensive. Very high property taxes. But we have a little of everything and as long as I can afford it, I’ll always be a Jersey girl.

      • August 16, 2013 at 6:31 PM

Okay… I just googled it and NJ IS the densest state… it’s also the second wealthiest. Too bad my bank account doesn’t know that. 😉

        • August 16, 2013 at 6:32 PM

Correction… most densely populated… “densest” doesn’t sound quite right.

Many regions (especially urban) have shifted and changed. Much of the reason is the white flight and suburban sprawl of the 1970’s and 80’s. If you look at the immigration history of the U.S.(concentrating on urban areas) you’ll see with each new wave of immigrant came a new enclave in the city. Italians, Jews/Slavs, Irish, Polish, Chinese etc etc all had their own end of town where they had sense of self and belonging and also folks from the “old country” could come and feel a sense of home.

This change occurred for myriad reasons over the past 40 or so years (I named two above) and now there are areas that are heavily populated with blacks and latinos and if you did not know the history of that region, there would be little indication that it was once cultured in a different way.
I do not know how urban Patterson is but I am not surprised to hear that it’s demographics are different from year ago.

              • August 19, 2013 at 7:51 AM

Paterson is mostly black and Hispanic. Near route 20 there are still Italian people. The Brownstone is also on the edge of Totowa, where there’s a lot of Italians.

I love this part of Jersey. My family has been in Manhattan and North Jersey since the 1600’s. I have travelled all over the world and this is the only place I want to call home. In this surreal area we have the most amazing towns – Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus and of course Saddle River. It *is* so beautiful, safe and serene. Manhattan is close enough to see the skyline from Ridgewood or parts of Rt 17. I can take a train to Newark Airport and go anywhere. Hop on Turnpike or Parkway and I can get anywhere quickly. We really have the best of everything but at a blinding cost. You arent kidding about property taxes. People in the rest of the country must think we are insane to be paying $50,000 a year in taxes, but I think it’s well worth it.

Let’s say I joined the cast of a reality TV show. People who know about me and my family begin talking about the differences between real life and screen life. Perhaps there are some things in my life I would rather keep private. I start to hear about what is being said. I can’t easily leave the show because I am under contract / don’t have control over editing and production / kind of like some of the perks and opportunities the show has presented me and my family. How can I deflect the bad attention from me and my family? Hmmmm, they say offense is the best defense. I could possibly pick the person in the cast who I find most annoying and do my best to pass the negative attention toward that person so that I will no longer be a focus of gossip.

As for the story above pertaining to Caroline…someone knows the truth. Judging by the way she and her family has been treated so far I doubt anything like adultery will every be shown. Some people seem to be born under a lucky star as far as production and editing is concerned.

She would of known about her brother in laws ways so why would she encourage her sister to get with him?? I think it’s sad she has such a low opinion of women… and of herself. Cheating apparently is just “something men do”– what a 1950’s attitude. It really disgusts me that her sons seem to have adopted this attitude, too. She clearly is fine with being financially supported by her husband as long as it takes care of her children… and I guess it’s one way to think, and I wouldn’t begrudge her this attitude, if she hadn’t been on such a witch hunt to prove that Teresa’s husband cheated. Like, really? You’re worried about the fact that they sleep in separate bedrooms, and your husband has an ENTIRE SEPARATE APARTMENT? But in typical Manzo fashion, they chalk it up to something cute/quirky about their family and make it seem totally normal that a husband and wife spend no time together, while they vilify the Giudices even though you see them together pretty along with their children much constantly.

    • August 16, 2013 at 6:09 PM

Very good comment Gonad, No matter how well my husband financially supported me and my boy’s, it’s not ok to look the other way “if he were to of cheated on me here or there 20 years ago” To me, Caroline only cares about the financial end of her marriage for herself and her children. What kind of marriage is that? Not one I would want.

i totally agree with your argument about Caroline seeing men as ‘higher’ (for want of a better word) than men however i agree with her sentiments. I do not think it is realistic to expect a person to stay faithful for 50 years or however long a marraige lasts. I have spoken about this with my hubby and i want to spend the rest of my life with him. if he strayed i would not throw away our lives together – i cannot say he has the same feelings though he is very against cheating. i suppose it is a from of unconditional love – i want to live my life with him and if we need to work through whatever comes our way. i totally respect Caroline for saying this. I have said though that if he did sleep with someon else they can absolutely not be in our circle and i don’t necessariloy need to know about it just wear a condom. HOWEVER i have not found myself in this situation yet and i cannot predict how i would really feel should i find myself in said situation. as for me i tend to cheat in dreams ;). I see nothing wrong with a husband wanting to sleep in his own room in his own house by himself, my hubby and I don’t sleep in the same bed, he has his separate room 4 understandable reasons, our little son wants to sleep with his mommy and my hubby snors and moves around and kicks in his sleep all night long, he found himself on the living room couch before he went in his own bedroom, under certain circumstances it’s okay. Caroline can spin it and say, well the traditional Italian women/wife is supposed to sleep in the same bed with her husband. What if one of Teresa’s little girls want to sleep next to their mommy too? Besides who the fuck is Caroline to judge??? Teresa’s hubby sleeps in his own room in his house but mr al manzo sleeps in his own apartment across town 7 days a week. Caroline has no logic in the way she speaks, she’s just a straight talker, don’t confuse the 2 Caroline.

“Albie: I grew up in a marriage where my Dad worked very hard and didn’t always have time to talk to Mom. In our dating lives now, girls are not OK with that.

Caroline You have to find a girl that understands the way I understood.”

No, he doesn’t Caroline. He needs to find a woman he loves and make time to talk to her and be there for her. He doesn’t need to marry a mommy-clone.

I don’t believe the BS she is spouting about how great her marriage is with them not seeing each other – but if it DOES work – they’re the exception, not the rule. Albie’s right, most women except more. And she’s wrong to try to convince him otherwise.

Frankly, she has been a little too defensive about her marriage lately.

Big Al has made it clear that he is over her. The few times he is on camera, he clearly does not want to be there with her. If I didn’t find her so insufferable, I would have felt sorry for her, especially during this season’s scene they filmed in the restaurant. She was looking at him, like PLEASE….let’s just get though this.

If he can’t suck it up for a few hours of filming, I can’t imagine what it is like when the cameras are off.

This is why her spin off (if it happens) will not work. Because for someone who always spouts “the truth”, I don’t believe she will ever allow honest filming. Clearly not everything is rainbows in Manzo land.

that’s why caroline is such a bitch because she is unhappy in her own marriage. so funny how people throw stones from glass windows and I notice that they haven’t shown a scene at the brownstone all season or maybe 1 time. I really believe that Al had asked Caroline for a divorce a long time ago and she wont do it. There is really no need for him to be married to her anymore, those brats are all grown and he hasn’t been in love with her in a long time. Loving someone and being in love with someone is different. Caroline knows the deal and to think how hard that witch Is on everyone else, she’s tried to calm it down this season to sell books, but we are all aware of that. you notice that when Teresa said on wwhl that its brave of Caroline to say anything about my marriage when she has skeletons, she backed all the way down. if Teresa was such scum she could give the goods but she has not which says a lot because she has every right to tell what she knows after how they have attacked her, as a matter of fact she’s a whole lot better than me because I would have gone for blood a by now and I consider myself a good person. but we see that andy wants to make them the stars of the show and he’s a evil diva. how could you exploit someone and their children like this for ratings, I hope that the whole network tanks

    • August 16, 2013 at 11:41 PM

I now see Caroline as a typical “Mob Wife”! According from books/interviews written by ex-mob wives the men usually don’t divorce the wife/mother of his kids. It makes them look bad to the other mobster’s. They like to keep up the appearance that they’re the “family” type of guy! Not, some low life thug who cheats on his wife and barely see’s his kids! As long as the mobster can provide well for his family is all that seems to matter. It’s known that the wives to the mobster’s know there place and that is to raise their children and accept the marriage the way it is! The women never cheat because if they do the man who would dare cheat with the mobster’s wife could end up sleeping with the fish! It’s starting to make sense now!

      • August 17, 2013 at 1:11 AM

Totally agree. Tiny Manzo didn’t wind up in a trunk because of nothing, he crossed the mob bossess. She married into a mob family. Do I think Al is involved in the mob .. dunno, but it just seems odd to me that they (and Tommy) can live the lifestyle they do just off of the Brownstone.

    • LifeIsGood
      August 17, 2013 at 12:53 PM

I think the reason Al didn’t divorce has nothing to do with the kids. He has political aspirations and he can’t afford to have Caroline start talking. Not to mention, Caroline would get half of his share of the Brownstone.

Sunday’s episode looks boring. I could a rat’s ass about Lauren Manzo — go away. Wacko getting the surgery and coming to that precious baby horrific. Chris, Rich and TB planning an AZ trip — LOL, talk about a scripted scene. TSIL saying to Tre, I don’t understand why these cheating rumors “just” started when I decide to write a marriage book — honey they have been out there for years. Penny is scary looking and I don’t trust a word out of her mouth. Will definitely have to record so I can fast forward through most of it.

RHONJ ratings are down. From BravoRatings.com:

“Through 11 Episodes, Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was averaging 3,097,818 (and ended averaging 3,100,208), and so the Garden State ladies are along way from ever being the #1 show on Bravo TV and in fact the ratings have flat lined for the last seasons. If I was into betting, I’d say it will be odds on for a major cast shakeup for the next season of RHoNJ. Agree?

2013 sees the fifth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey as it catches up with two of its more senior franchise members; RHoNY and RHoA who’ve already aired five seasons. Through nine episodes RHoNJ is showing a slight downward trend in ratings when compared to its Season 3 and Season 4 ratings. This season the total audience, aged two years and over, has declined just 1.97% versus last year and a smaller 1.26% when compared with 2011′s Season 3, however, in the advertiser important 18 to 49 year demographic; ratings have fallen by a much larger percentage; 12.61% – 1,416,500 viewers aged 18-49 per first airing versus 1,620,889 when compared with Season 4.

With the news of the 39 count indictment of its main star, Teresa Giudice and her husband handed down in July 2013, Bravo Media will no doubt see these declines reversed over the next few weeks given all the publicity this iteration of the Real Housewives franchise is now receiving. Given that there will be approximately another 15 episodes still to air, Bravo should now be confident of exceeding prior years’ ratings.

Updated Tuesday August 13th after S05E11: After a slight ratings uptick for last week’s episode perhaps due to the huge press generated by the 39 count indictment handed down on stars Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe, this week’s audience fell by 6.37% to 2,410,000 viewers for the 8pm airing, scoring a 1.10 in the 18-49 demo in the process. Given that both episodes seven & eight exceeded 2.7m viewers, it certainly doesn’t appear that the Giudice indictments will end up being ratings positive for Bravo Media. Through 11 episodes, this fifth season is trending down versus Season 4 in overall viewer totals (-0.96%) but is seeing a double digit decline (-10.14%) in the advertiser preferred 18 to 49 year demographic. It is also seeing lower ratings than Season Two & Season Three and is only slightly up against 2009′s Freshman season.”

Moma-give me the DD family any day. 11.8 mil viewers-that is what people want to see stun and loving family. Jules, I can’t blame your daughter because I have a crush on him too!. I love the way he talks. He doesn’t get in a hurry and his facial expressions just crack me up.

This is a great interview he gave where he touches on the impacts and blueprints of reality television. He said he overheard a camera man tell another camera man – this show is going to rip this family apart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A2Dy9K-C8M

It’s also kind of fitting because just yesterday he was escorted out of a NY Hotel for asking where the restroom was. They thought he was homeless!!! True to fashion, Jase didn’t make a big deal of it – he’s such a sweetie. The video of this story on Live with Kelly & Michael is at the bottom of this article.

Just Me, I’m Glendale too. We moved out here when I-17 still had the orange trees and wandering chickens in the median. I remember all of the cotton farms when I was a kid and it was quite sad to see them go away one by one for the new subdivisions. I live in a community of 1-2 acre properties and we are considered in the city now, whereas, when mom and dad bought (I live across the street from them, not with them) and we were considered the boonies. Bell Road, 51st Ave, 59th etc. were all still dirt roads. I love AZ, but miss those times as in the evenings in the summer it actually did cool off — now we don’t since we are asphalt jungle.

You know, MzJules, there is something about Penny I don’t trust, either. First, she wrote a blog on FRE’s site saying she wanted the free publicity for her business is why she was on RHONJ. In getting the free publicity she’s going to “out” Tsil as a cheater? As much as I can’t stand the skank couldn’t Penny have just sold her story to a tabloid magazine and used the money made from the tabloid story to advertise her business more? Not only that but being in a national magazine is publicity, too. I remember a FW’s commenter who seemed to know Penny personally (or maybe she was Penny? or Jan?) was pretty adament about Penny loving Teresa and wanting to help her out with the witches of NJ! Yet, Penny wouldn’t “out” Caroline and Al’s marriage because Caroline didn’t do anything to hurt Penny, right? To me, if a friend who I love so much and want to protect from bullies hurt her I would want to hurt as many people as possible, not just the one’s who I have a personal vendetta against! I admit, I was curious to see how the cookie crumbled regarding Penny, because from what I remember from the commenter who was close to Penny, she/he stated that (paraphrasing), “we need to watch how S5 unfolds to see what part Tre plays in it”. I do recall that, at first, Penny and friend loved Tre until the “Life and Style” magazine came out then they seemed to turn on her! I kind of wonder if that was Penny and friends part for this season was to leak inside info in favor of Tre, then turn on Tre and tell the blogs/poster’s they have to watch the season to understand it? Am I being played by Bravo to exite my interest in the show? If so, it worked on me, darn it!

I’m not a Caroline fan, but I understand her reasoning for staying married. She’d be a divorced, older, mother of 3, with no formal education. And she’s stayed home her whole marriage, so her social security would be low. I’d know she’d get some money in their divorce, but it’s probably just easier for her. And I don’t think children really want their parents to ‘just be happy.’ I don’t think kids think like that. I think they expect moms and dads to be able to talk things out and work things out. I think she made a mistake by coming on the show in the first place. Who goes on a reality show when they want to hide their reality?? I think she was selfish to even come on this show because it probably stunted her kids at 19, 20 and 22!!

    • Jeannie5233
      August 16, 2013 at 11:41 PM

So am I a million and one % positve, JustMeP – I know for a FACT my husband has never cheated on me and never would. That is his character. I’ve known this man for 40 years and he is my best friend, my confidante, my rock. He would die for me. And I for him.

Monogamy is tough. It may not even be natural as some studies have shown. However, it is possible.

This statement “He’s a man. . . .” implies ALL men are dogs. That is just not true.

There are good decent men out there who work hard, provide for their family, come home every night, and do not cheat on their wives and the fact Caroline feels that “He’s a man. . .” justifies infidelity shows she does not think very highly of herself.

Every woman, and every man for that matter, deserves a mate who they can trust completely.

I felt so sad for Nicholas when Chris said he kept asking for his mom. Then, Jac said she didn’t know if he’d miss her??? That was shocking for Jac to think that. It is like she doesn’t even know her child. He definitely has high functioning autism. Maybe, Caro was right about Jac’s mothering skills. Remember she said to her, what kind of mother leaves her kids? Then, Jac punched her.

    • August 17, 2013 at 12:52 AM

She’s disgusting to me leaving her child for her vanity. They are all saying she deserved to get away and do something for her self. Ok … go to the spa locally while he’s at school for 9 hours and have a spa day or two, but this was complete vanity and selfishness on her part.

      • August 17, 2013 at 8:58 AM

I agree with both of you, it was totally selfish of her to have that surgery. She has a disabled son who needed her and he doesn’t understand why she can’t pick him up. She leaves him all the time, so I don’t know why she would wonder if he would miss her. She does have a lot of help with his care and he does appear to be high functioning so it is time for her to get off the pity pot. If you ask me Jac has a tremendous amount of “me” time. We see her tweets, flying out west for nephews birth, going to weddings, traveling to promote blk, the list goes on and on. But “you don’t know how hard it is”, she cried to Teresa. Give me a break, she has it easy compared to other parents with autistic children. My sister-in law has not had a vacation in over 20 years, not even a week-end, and I have never seen her cry about how hard her life is.

I agree 100% Mzjulesaz. When Jacqueline went on her twitter rampage against T, I seem to recall a few of the tweets criticized T for the amount of time she spends at book signings. She also made a few digs about Miliania not getting enough attention.

So T is negligent for leaving her kids for a few hours in the evening to help support her family, but Jacqueline leaving her special needs son alone for days so she feels better about her body is OK. It’s also OK for her to take a risk going under the knife, thousands of miles away from her kids. Hypocite.

I’m not against plastic surgery in general, but some women take it too far. The hack their body to bits when the real problem is psycological or spiritual. Sad.

    So Caroline –

Prediction: After RHONJ runs its course and we have been subjected to the nightmare from hell wedding of Lauren and Vito, Albie runs off to “find himself” and Christopher gets to open up that stripper carwash he has always dreamed of. While Caroline refuses to give him a divorce, Al is finally free from the shackles of supporting his deadbeat children and moves in permanently with Jill. And, as I predicted before, Caroline sells the Hoboken co-op, moves back to Franklin Lakes and runs an animal sanctuary with her sister Fran.

You heard it hear first – (wink, wink).

I agree about Roxy’s site. I do still check in there once in awhile, but the Estelle and jpg have really ruined it. Problem is, people over there can’t resist feeding the trolls.

It’s a shame, because I was rooting for Roxy. I like to see young women her age (early 20’s?) succeed.

Laram I agree 100% with everything you said over there. Estelle and JPG have blown my confidence to post, therefore I’m not to comfortable posting really anywhere any more I just wanted to say thank you for telling those bitches off. Fame is the only place where level heads and kindness prevails. Thank you Fame.

I just went over and read Laram goodbye post on Roxy’s site. I agree with her all the way, I do hope a few of the commenters she mentioned come and check out this site. It just took a couple of posters to bring that site.

Oh no Laram, and so many other poster’s name I recognize from Allabouttrth – please don’t stay away forever! Some of the posters have to be the Marcos and Leann/paid friends (on Brandi/Leann BH threads.) Knowing it is these delusional people, I can’t really take them seriously. The key is to not comment back to them or keep it very brief. I comment to people that I believe or regular posters, like you guys 🙂 Keep in mind, these people want to drive you away, they know that is a popular place. Keep the Truth alive and keep posting! 🙂

      • August 17, 2013 at 4:16 PM

I agree Maru, but it’s gotten ridiculous. They are sick pups that thrive off of the attention. I quit trying to reason with JPG along time ago and never respond to them. I seriously think they get off of getting a rise out of people.

        • August 17, 2013 at 8:19 PM

          what does JPG mean? I’ve tried to figure it out, but no go :{

      • August 17, 2013 at 8:45 PM

It’s obvious to me that the Marco trolls are working overtime right now because Tsil’s cheating “scandal” is coming out! Plus, Tre and her indictment’s are out now and they seem to want to sway Tre’s fans toward Tsil’s side! That’s just my personal opinion on why those Marco skanks seem to be glued to their wifi devices’ 24/7 on allabouttrh website and ROL! They don’t get that I could never respect Tsil enough, as a person, to be declared a Tsil Fan! Never! If something happens and I’m pro-Tsil then you know that I was kidnapped and brainwashed to like that skank!

          August 18, 2013 at 1:21 AM

It would not surprise me if that is what the Marco sisiters are up to. I don’t know why they would think the people who don’t care one way or the other about Teresa would suddenly give two hoots about a shadow that has been following behind Teresa.

Laram, several months ago I sent an email to Roxy..I’ve been with her pre site..I found her on twitter right before she started her blog. I was so disappointed that all of her hard work was being tarnished by these ugly awful people..especially after my introduction to blogging was Reality Tea. I’m sad that these 2 people seem to take precedence over all the other posters. Nothing debatable with them…just vicious, ugly taunts. Like anyone starting a new business, JPG and Estelle cheapen Roxy’s brand..I hope we can get some of the others over here!!

      • August 17, 2013 at 11:29 PM

Dubbalicious — I, too was there w Roxy from go and have also moved on. Way to go Laram for going off on the trolls. Agreed that it was just impossible to have any discourse whatsoever, and the other commenters could not help but engage them. Those two (if it truly is two people) took up where “samantha” left off — and the other commenters used to just ignore her. I have no doubt that Thing 1 and Thing 2 are not just rabid fans — they either have a dog in the fight (paid intern or related) or just plain insane.

Oh wow, I remember those “Samantha” days too, and suspect that ‘he/she’ has a new moniker.

I remember Richie saying he wanted to ‘take down’ that site, and I just don’t want to see it go that way because certain cast members insist that they be loved when posters don’t take to them.

I still can`t get over Teresa kissing Carowhine at the retreat. I want to throw-up when I think of everything she did to Teresa and she can just forgive and kiss that old hag. I would have let her fall on her ass.

    • August 17, 2013 at 12:14 PM

It is ironic that Caroline tawks and tawks about fambly, but it is Teresa who actually lives it. Teresa has the ability to forgive (and has done it more than the rest of the cast) and really believes that once you have forgiven then you move forward – baby steps. It used to crack me up the face Teresa used to try to maintain when her elder Caroline was going all matriarch of her fambly with rules – puleease! Caroline is in the middle of the Laurita litter and I bet the reason she has so many tiffs with them is because she thinks she is all that and a bag of chips!

i agree with u jeanni, i know my husband very well and i know he would never do it, and never have done it.
what she says about the years and not being sure about al’s cheating is just bullshit, wives always know, if they want to know,we can just sense it,its another thing if wife actually wants to realize it or just close her eyes.

living 11 mins away from home and not coming home to sleep is just a red flag for me,i dont see any point in that at all. i cant imagine seeing my husband once a week, when he works so close to home.

she is so quick to judge others and their marriages, always trying to focus on someone else?why? cuz she doesnt have that easy happy marriage that she tries to sell so hard.

    August 17, 2013 at 8:09 AM

Congratulations to all who sustain a relationship in this day an age without adultery on either side. I was married for 26 years to a man who was the polar opposite. Why did I stay? Because I thought I was doing the right thing for the children. Do I regret staying that long? Yes! The day I ended my marriage was the happiest day of my life. Do I regret marrying this man? No! He was a wonderful father and gave me 3 wonderful, college educated children. I feel I taught my daughters that they didn’t have to stay in a marriage of infidelity. Although I was slow to react, I did finally take the plunge.
All three of my children have asked me over, and over “mom why did you stay with dad when you knew what he was doing? We would have been happy if you were happy” Says so much for the way I handled the situation at the time. However also says to me that even though I assumed my children knew nothing it was written all over my face.
Fortunately we all made it through the divorce whole and their father and I are now friends and continue to be a very large part of our children, and grandchildren lives.
The hard part at 55 is it can be a very lonely life at times. Especially if your ill. However I will take a lonely day over a day with my ex anytime. I’m at peace with myself, children, and ex.
I have to count only on myself for everything and as I do I am very proud of where I am today. I don’t have everything I want, but I do have everything I need. For that I am blessed.

    • Jeannie5233
      August 17, 2013 at 8:57 AM

DD – Staying in an unhappy marriage for the children – you thought at the time this was the right thing to do and you are not alone. I think alot of women do that for the very same reason. I also think that fear of the unknow plays a part. Relationships are all so personal and individual and what is right for someone else may not be right for you. Your journey to where you are today was a long and hard one but it was a journey you needed to take.

I hear your strength through your words – and I am so happy for you!!! You should be proud of what you have accomplished and how you have grown as a person – someone who is bright, articulate, independent, and has a lot to offer the world.

It is a pleasure to “know” you, DD, – I feel all of us are blessed and all the better for it that you are here!! 😀

        August 17, 2013 at 10:12 AM

Thanks Jeannie for your kind words. Yes I am strong beyond beliefs. I attribute this to the man above. I never walk my journey alone and have much to be thankful for. I too am honored to know everyone on here. You however bring something very special to the plate. It’s a pleasure knowing you.

My take on Caroline. She is a woman who can not be pleased. She will never wants to admit when she is wrong and she will not fully accept apologies from anyone.

She feels at ease as a rescuer and seeks out people who need her. This feels good until she becomes this creeper person who shows up at your dorm room with jars of chicken soup. She is the mom that a person like me was vulnerable to. At first you really like them and you want to spend Christmas at their house. You seen the reaction Greg got when he was going away from Caroline. She is not a socker mom. She is a stalker mom lol

Her children are trapped just like her husband. I do think her issues revolve around the fear of being abandoned. She has a photo of her father and a quotation about him being in the same spot all day watching westerns. I would bet that he was in her life as a child but he wasn’t really there if you know what I mean.

The father is not a bad man because he is a hard worker, she can not be angry with him, so she transfers her anger over to her mother. That is why she blames women for any problems going on but deep down she is angry with men. Conflicted – She can not blame herself the way she blames other women.

I think the reason no one comforted her when she was sobbing is the same reason we didn’t feel anything when she broke out crying over Greg leaving her. It is not real it is part of her manipulation that worked when the marriage was young. You notice the middle child, Christopher, is the only one who will never grow up and is “attached” to his mother.

None of this excuses the misery, anger and meddling towards others in their lives. They all could use some therapy.

This is off topic but here goes. Yesterday, in a desperate attempt to get out of taking my teenage boys and their friends to the movies, I hit up the local Redbox looking for anything that might keep them occupied and me from having to sit through KickAss 2. Normally, I wouldn’t have minded but I was going to have to stay and watch this movie with them because it was rated R. No luck, the rain held off, so I had to go. All I can say is OMG! I don’t get teenage boys humor! Now I know why there were only 20 people in the theater watching this on opening day.

Anyway, this morning I put in one of the Redbox dvd’s I rented – To the Wonder. Nope, I didn’t make it through the first 10 minutes so I put in the next one which was Bad Parents. It didn’t start off great but my others rentals were action movies, so I let it play. The next thing you know, I see some of the parents in the movie are holding bottles of BLK. My first thought was YUCK but then I had to wonder how much they had to pay or what they had to do to get their product in the movie. But, my question was answered when Jacko appeared. She didn’t have any lines but there she was – exercising. It’s not my day for movies!!!!

I should have took my youngest son’s advice and watched the baseball movie 42. He said it’s a cross between The Help and Seabiscuit – very inspirational.

    • August 17, 2013 at 10:33 AM

thought she didn’t exercise in front of people….lol!

That is funny Calypso (I agree, there are weekends that Red Box has absolutely nothing I want to see, even if it only costs $1.23!) Had to look up Bad Parents on IMDB and they only gave it 4.8 out of 10 stars, sounds pretty bad.

      • Calypso
        August 17, 2013 at 10:07 PM

It was pretty bad. Redbox is great idea but I always feel so rushed. The moment I walk up to an available machine – so does everyone else. At that point – my choice is based solely on the cover. I’ve seen some great movies that I’d never heard of and some really, really bad ones. My most shocking Redbox Rental EVER – Movie 43. All star cast but SHOCKING!!

Lauren and her mom both sit leg crossed, hunched over, arm over lap trying to hind their stomachs when posing for pictures or even when they are sitting on the show. I don’t understand why they are self conscience of their bellies. It’s more like they are supper top heavy their large bosoms make them look very matronly. Breast reductions for both would give them a younger appearance. I only say this because they get tummy tucks and lap bands I think if they are going to have surgeries their boobs are their biggest problem.

    • August 17, 2013 at 2:04 PM

Agree Pippi, Way back in 1996 I had a breast reduction surgery. I didn’t tell very many people what I had done, but everyone who is close to me thought I had lost weight. It’s amazing how large breasts make a person look heavy even if their not.

      • August 17, 2013 at 6:58 PM

I also agree, I had breast cancer 7 years ago, now I am ready for the reconstruction and reduction. I will be getting the surgery next month. Worried somewhat 3.5 hour surgery. I have always wore loose t shirts and tops. I am excited to be able to buy what I like not what fits.

Hello all my “Fame-bly” I’m back from the class reunion and can’t wait to catch up on all the post that I missed. One thing that I haven’t been able to get out of my mind is, the episode, not sure what season, but it was when “the children of privilege ” were out to hear Alexa Joel sing and at the table while everyone was enjoying the night, Big Al had his cell phone on his knee the whole night and kept looking at it. Well, I would have thought Carolwhiny would have at least asked him to put the damm thing away if only while “they” were taping. I guess one does really get comfortable around the cameras after awhile. And why in future re-runs was Ms. Brinkley edited out?
On a side note, I drove over 1000 miles for this reunion and took a whole tote of beautiful shoes with me and anyone care to guess which ones I wore to the outside reunion? Yep, my 99 cent flip-flops……..and danced the night way while all the other girls ended up barefooted. Bawhahwhahwhahwhahwa *.*

What stood out to me in that episode (and this is totally random) but when Caroline was gushing about Alexa and she said in her TH “I am just so proud of her!!” When she said that I thought how presumptuous!! It was like she was implying SHE had something to do with the girl’s success! Isn’t the whole “proud role” for parents and family??!! It was just weird to me!! For some reason, that was the moment that I realized CAROLINE was “drinking the Kool-Aid” (as she loves to accuse Teresa of) or as Nene would say “feeling herself a little too much!!”

Christie Brinkley was probably freaked out by Caroline’s second mother attitude around her daughter. Interesting comment from Christopher –

“Also at the Whitney Eve show was “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Caroline Manzo, who has expressed her love for Joel on Twitter in the past. Manzo’s son Albie tweeted that he was “mortified” last year when his brother Chris said on the show that if their mother could trade three sheep, property and Albie for Alexa, she would. Maybe Al was expecting a call from Jill. Caroline was so giddy and trying to hard to connect with Alexa Joel. I think when Albie’s mom like’s a girl it does not work for him. When Albie likes a girl, it does not work for his mom lol Do they unconsciously set themselves up to fail at something?

      • August 17, 2013 at 10:36 PM

no Jeannie, just a pair from k-mart, on sale even *.* and I worried for nothing…all the “other ladies” were going through menopause so they were fat too. ( I kid I kid ) btw, how’s your momma?

    • August 17, 2013 at 8:37 PM

Love, love, love my flip flops.

    • August 17, 2013 at 11:17 PM

Hi Shoebuyer, Just goes to show you can’t beat good old flip-flops. I do recall the episode your talking about. Must of been some important texting going on that night.

Just a few quick random thoughts. I hope those of us that don’t have the DVDs were able to catch some of the “Throw Back” S1 Episodes the other day on Bravo!!! I was a great reminder-for me!!

First of all, they ALL are way more “together” looks wise. Their glam squads have done them all justice…I had forgotten how “plain jane” they were(so I know Teresa threw that dig @ Melissa about telling ppl how she “used” to look, but I hate to tell her, she was in that boat on S1…looking a little rough—hehe)! This is WITH THE EXCEPTION OF JAX!!! WTH??!!!! She was adorable on S1!!!!! A-DORABLE!!! She really has ruined her looks, I was honestly verkelmpt watching how she used to look!! I think just taking her physical changes from S1-S5 is evidence enough that she is heading towards that edge of the cliff by the deep end… And of course the changes are really subtle so it does not jump out to the eye from season to season but—WOAH!!

And, along the same lines of “how soon we forget”—- I retract anything I said last week about Danielle and how I may have “missed her” presence or how “it would be nice” for her to come back and set the record straight and…yeah! No no. That would not be good. Danielle-bad. Stay far far away. Oy!! I don’t think “time/distance” are the fixes to the types of problems she brought to the show. She really was freaking INSANE!! In a scary way, not in the “ha-ha” way.

Teresa is a hot-head but in no uncertain manner is she “certifiably not right” the way Danielle is!
There was SOOOOO much stuff I had forgotten about! I will say this, I do feel bad for the WAY she was shunned by the group, BUT based on her actions, especially at the S1 reunion—I get why things happened the way they did.

yeah, sometimes it’s easy to forget how crazy Danielle was, like when she insisted on driving by the Manzo’s house to see what cars were at a party she hadn’t been invited to. Her poor embarrassed daughter begged her not to. Uncomfortable to watch.

        August 17, 2013 at 6:14 PM

GASPING!!!!! I KNOW! That was just……………………. there are really no words! Then when she had that party for her daughter and the other housewives didn’t show so she left empty chairs and made a huge scene about their absence!!???

      • August 17, 2013 at 11:25 PM

For sure yup, I have mentioned that very scene more than once on here. Those poor girl’s pretty much begging her not to drive by the house. I can still see the look on Danielle’s face. It was like she was in another world, like out of control weird, determined psyco look. lol Can’t think of a better way to describe it.

Danielle might have been crazy, but she was telling the truth! Why were they all scared of Danielle? Because she knew the goods on ALL of them including Teresa. I miss Danielle because she DID NOT get a fair shake from BRAVO and ANDY COHEN. Caroline and Co including Teresa threaten to walk if she wasn’t fired.

      • August 17, 2013 at 10:43 PM

I feel the same way qb….say what you want about Danielle, but she was one smart street wise chick…the rest lived a very “safe” childhood. Danielle had to learn how to survive, and she has..let’s just sit back and watch how well the “others” do

  46. August 17, 2013 at 5:13 PM

the Manzo’s must have Fame on speed dial(so to say) Chris sent lapband a message about having a “brother” (philly) that doesn’t want to be filmed…..I’m sure he was just joking…….right…….*.*

OT…every once in awhile I go to twitter and read the TL…nothing offends me more then Kathy Wakilie promoting her appearances..as if anyone might really be interested!! After all the crap this non entity has pulled on Teresa..I find it offensive that she thinks she has a brand worth promoting. As if…on her own merit she’s interesting or desirable. Gimme a break!! NJ woman think people are actually interested in them. Lol. It’s like a giant infomercial that nobody watches. Yawn!

    • August 17, 2013 at 6:23 PM

I watched the 1st look last night and I posted my comments up thread, I totally zoned through the scene with her and her gross husband. I rewatched it as she’s going to become the canolli queen — LOL.

I just thought about something… I know it has been a few guest appearances at best but I think that one person that keeps the Manzo’s on the good side of Andy is Caroline’s brother Jaime the celebrity chef—Oprah’s chef— the golden ticket!

The mob connections don’t hurt their cause but I think that Andy is the UBER social climber, he is clearly obsessed with Oprah. I am not suggesting this chef has super powers (he’s no Bethenny) BUT , as I try to make sense of why the hell this snooze-fest of a family gets so much respect and air time, this came to mind?

Question? Does anyone know anything about Jill?

    • August 17, 2013 at 11:34 PM

I wish I could answer your question, Mehonogo. The only thing I know is, Al and this Jill, have supposedly been having an long term affair. I hope someone on here can answer the question, I’m very curious about it too.

Just popped over to AATRH. **Slow Clap** Dubbalicious. Absolutely awesome. And amazing how other posters are all “but what about the chiilllldren… don’t say anything about the chilllldren.” Oh, BS to them — these are the same ones who sit back and say nothing to these abusive f*%&cks, Besides, you didn’t say anything bad about anyone’s kids — just that you feel for them, not that they are brats or ugly.

I also liked the theory by another commenter that jpg is actually Tricky Dicky.

Goodbye again to my friends and fame. We are leaving tomorrow to go back up to my hubby’s job in the boonies. One week sure goes by fast. I will be driving into town a few day’s every week to grab some wifi and see what’s going on with my favorite site and commenter’s. God Bless you all.

Thank you, mzjulesaz. Hubby is going to follow me up, as last time, I had a front tire blow at almost 80 mph, God was with me. Hubby insisted on 4 new tires and to follow me up there this trip.

Old sour grapes has to keep the peace with Albie Senior b/c who else would fund the lives of 3 do nothing “children” and a meddling old bag? Should she not let Albie Senior have his playmates, her oppulent lifestyle would probably be over. Some women in this world who don’t have a career, a life or self-confidence are okay with cheating husbands. For them its all about someone else supporting them and the material things that they must surround themselves with. I have zero tolerance or sympathy for these nimrods, and that includes old sour grapes.
