I heard about some parents not knowing until this morning. So, the reports that the kids died by drowning are incorrect? It does sound, as horrible as it was, that it could have been worse. Those poor parents. It’s so sad. I think the rest of the nation is in shock as well. There was a definite sadness and feeling of disbelief today when talking about this. Resilience…

I will continue to pray for your family and all who have suffered from this event. This will be a long and hard road for all who have been hurt by this tornado.

When this blog is a little less busy, I will share some of the miracles that happened in my own life, all due to the power of prayer.

There are always heroes walking among us – and I have always felt teachers are many times, the unsung heroes of our children. When parents drop their children off to school, often times not much thought is put into exactly who they are turning their childrens’ care over to every day. I know teachers grow to love their students, for the most part, and we hear time and again how they literally put their own lives on the line for “their kids.” God bless those teachers. God bless everyone in Moore, OK.

I just looked at my sister’s psych Individualized Integrated Care Plan from September of 2011 and her official diagnosis is Recurrent, Moderate Major Depression, Alcohol Abuse, Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

How horrible that your mother did not support the right people with the molestation allegations. My sister did the same thing with my niece. One of my mom’s sons (my half-brother) was imprisoned for manslaughter of his girlfriend’s 3 year old daughter. Not sure of the circumstances because I was young and probably didn’t get the real story anyway, but I have heard internal trauma from being punched in the stomach. Have also heard it blamed on a playground accident. Years later, he was imprisoned for rape (which, honestly, I knew of the girl who accused him and I don’t think it was rape, but who knows). Just like your mother, mine sent him money, blah, blah, blah. A few (5 maybe?) years back one of my half brothers passed away and I didn’t hear about it until I read it in the paper. Appx. 2 years ago one of my other half brothers was drunk and him and his roommate were playing with a loaded gun and it went off and he was killed instantly. I also found out as an adult child (probably 10 – 15 years ago) that my mom was in jail for check deception and had a son and gave him to her friend to raise. I knew the kid growing up (he was a lot older than me) but never knew anything about that. I’ve learned a lot in the last few years from my sisters on my dad’s side…my goodness, absolute craziness. BTW, I am the youngest of 11, the only one my parents had together (that includes the one that was given away).

My weekday life was pretty great. My parents both worked and I was babysat by a wonderful couple who became Grandma and Grandpa. I had home cooked meals for every meal — unless it was pizza day at school, lol — and was always dressed up, got good grades, and was always a good kid. Was spoiled rotten materially. Weekends though were just NUTS. I was sheltered from a lot of it due to my “grandparents” but when I got old enough to stay by myself during the day, WOW… Parents would often start in the middle of the day at a bar and I knew if they weren’t back in a certain amount of time, I’d call Grams and someone would come pick me up. My mom had countless accidents while drinking and driving – don’t ever remember her doing any jail time though. She was a mean drunk too, and would destroy things. It got to the point when I was a little older and had friends calling the house that I would take every phone with me so that my mom wouldn’t answer the phone and cuss out my friends. She was very abusive when she was drunk, but not when sober. They quit drinking when I was in high school, thankfully. I mostly only dealt with her mental abuse after I married and had kids. I can only attribute that to jealousy????

They have been saying it was an F4 and after seeing that damage I thought for sure it was an F5. They have just reported that some of the damage indicated it was indeed an F5 tornado. Since the tornado strengthened as time went on what they had been able to inspect was probably F4 damage. They have since found damage indicating an F5. Horrifying. Bless all of you who live in areas prone to these monster tornadoes. We have had tornadoes in NJ, even in areas close to where I’ve been, but so far they’ve been NOTHING like what’s seen in tornado alley and the newly referenced south tornado alley. The are usually F0s or F1s and they don’t stay on the ground very long if they even reach the ground. Scary thing is last year (I believe in was last year) they had an F4 in CT. Almost unheard of around here. Anyway, I was so relieved to hear the death toll actually fell. Of course any death is too many but I had heard 76 and I thought it would go higher. Think it’s the first time I’ve heard a death toll fall so much.

Cee-See… thank God you have a storm cellar. If I ever had to live in any of those areas, I would HAVE to have a storm cellar. It’s so nice of you to open it up to your neighbors. In the stronger storms, such as in OK, F5s, it looks like there’s little chance of surviving above ground.

Jeannie – I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve gone through a difficult time with your mother. I wasn’t around and able to read all of the comments for some time. I knew some here were going through hard times but I didn’t know specifics. I still don’t know the particulars but just from what I read above, my heart breaks for you. I lost my mom in 2005 and we had to make some difficult decisions after seeing her suffer for several weeks so I have some idea what you went through but I get the impression that your situation was even more distressing. I have a strong belief in the afterlife in which I find comfort when dealing with deaths but it doesn’t take away the immediate feelings of loss or even long term loss. Several people very close to me passed in the past few years and I miss them terribly. But I digress, my thoughts are with you and I’m very sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. It’s really nice to hear that you found such comfort here and I hope you continue to do so since things must still be very raw for you right now. (((Jeannie)))

Also feel for nsr1076 with what you’re going through with your brother. I can’t imagine the frustration and helplessness you must feel. Of course it’s his decision ultimately, but I feel for you and your family and what you must all be going through. I’ll keep you, your brother and your family in my prayers.

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone. Tragedies like Boston and OK make me a bit sentimental as does hearing about the personal troubles some are going through.

After seeing such nasty comments on other blogs, it’s refreshing that everyone here is so kind. Even if we don’t completely agree, we still respect. I hope it stays that way once the show starts… lol I know it will with the regular posters but I’m sure there’ll be more that will be reading Fame’s blogs. If WWHL from Sunday is any indication, Teresa once again will get the bad edit.

I did notice Miss Andy treating Teresa a bit like he did Jill Zarin (and her Mother) when he became irritated by her responses about being a NY Times bestseller as her fave memory? Then towards the end when he supplied the word “Fabellini” to describe Teresa….she may want to be careful of coming across as pushing products too hard. (I’m remembering when Jill and Mom were on, and answered everything he asked with references to their book and Zarin Fabrics.) The difference, of course, is Teresa is wildly popular and her products ARE selling.

Just a thought.

Now, I was under the assumption the celebration of Teresa’s birthday in New York was a girls night out. Was I wrong or did anyone else think the same thing?

Now, the Manzos/Lauritas will not be attending because they have a prior commitment, which means two castmembers will be missing from any festivities and the Wakiles will follow, like they always do, the Gorgas where ever they go being the insipid puppy dogs they are. Then I would think Teresa would also travel out to Long Island to attend the party in a show of solidarity and unity. They are all part of the same cast and they are all getting along, right? But, nope – not happening.

Just adds something else to the pile of things that make me go HMMMMMM! and why I do not believe all this hooey that the Gorgas and Giudices are getting along in “real” life.
