Melissa Gorga Says She and Joe “Argued the First Five Years of Their Marriage” and “Never Fought Over the Cheating Rumors”

Near the end of the video below from Hollywood Life, published on August 20, 2012, Melissa gives relationship advice and talks about her marriage, explaining that she and Joe argued the first five years of their marriage, which just so happens to be the time period she allegedly had an extra-marital with her ex boyfriend, Byran Bowen, as well as a few others, according to a source.

“Marriage is a job and you need to constantly work at it… listen, the first five years I was married, we argued. It wasn’t easy.”

As usual, Melissa contradicts the statement with her most recent claim that she and Joe never fight, which was in the original article about the cover of her soon-to-be released advice book on marriage, published by Us Weekly on March 27, 2013.  Here is her original statement:

“There’s always people who look at where you shine and want to bring you down. So I feel that Joe and I shine. But, it comes with the territory and it’s made Joe and I stronger. We love each other more than ever. We’ve never had a fight before. We’ve shown everyone how great it is and I think everyone can see that.”

The article has since been edited and the statement, “we’ve never had a fight before,” no longer is in the article. It was removed after Melissa received some flack about it on Twitter:

Be sure to watch the video above: Melissa gives her secrets on what makes her marriage work. The interviewer says to her, “I’ve seen you at events, and your husband can’t take his eyes off of you,” which could mean multiple things… one being that Joe won’t let her attend events without him and keeps her in his line of sight because he doesn’t trust her.

In the video, Melissa contradicts another claim she made early in season 3, where she bragged that her husband worked hard so she could afford a nanny…  at the same time, she criticized Teresa for using her mother as her nanny. During season 3, episode 7, the cameras recorded the exchange between the Melissa and her sister about Teresa and her mother: apparently Melissa had to pay for her own nanny because Teresa was hogging Mrs. Gorga as her babysitter (Melissa implied that, unlike Joe Giudice, Joe Gorga works hard, which is why she could afford a nanny and Teresa couldn’t):

Lysa Simpson: Doesn’t she (Teresa) have a nanny?

Melissa: No, my mother-in-law’s her nanny (Lysa Simpson rolls her eyes). They can’t pay for a nanny right now; that wouldn’t be smart. My mother-in-law babysits for Teresa every single day. Whatever, I don’t care. That’s why I gotta nanny. My husband works hard and we can pay for it. Whatya gonna do?

However, in the video above, Melissa asserts:

“I don’t have nannies and I don’t have cooks. I do laundry at 2 o’clock in the morning.”

Everything changed in 2007 when Teresa was cast on RHONJ. For 11 months before filming began in 2008, Teresa mulled over the decision to join the cast or not (as explained by Andy Cohen on the June 17, 2012, episode of WWHL — she kept dropping in and out). During this time, unlike Teresa, Melissa and Joe were very anxious to join the show. She and Joe began looking for an estate lot to buy near Teresa so they could be close to her and hopefully be taped along with her, living an upper-class lifestyle. It is this common goal, to be rich and famous, that has bonded the Gorgas ever since 2007.

Melissa Gorga Says “I Have No Cooks, No Nannies, No Housekeepers!”

Joe and Melissa Gorga have been busy attending events without their kids.

  • Los Angeles, California to Crash the Grammys, Feb. 8 – Feb. 13 (5 days without the kids)
  • Photo ops in New York City on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27; Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Ballroom Birthday Bash for Charity and After Party (Tickets $75–$200) on Jan. 28 (instead of Gia’s birthday party)
  • NYC premiere of ‘One for the Money’ on Jan. 24
  • Spin nightclub in Chicago to judge a drag queen competition on Jan. 21 and Cafe Buonaro in Naperville, IL, for a ‘Meet and Greet’ and children’s fashion show on Jan. 22 (brought only Antonia – several days)
  • Miami to host New Year’s Eve party at Hotel Catalina, arrived on Dec. 28 (5 days without the kids)

So I made a comment on Facebook regarding Melissa never being at home with her kids and she actually responded because I hit a nerve!

“?@carrie & whoever else is concerned… I am a stay at home mom 98% of the time… I do pride myself on that.. I am now a working mom… Luckily for me most of the filming goes on in my house… I do get called to do appearances… They are usually 2hrs long… And only once or twice a week… Sometimes none in a week.. Like this week for instance.. That is a lot of time with my children… I wonder how u feel about the moms who have to work 9-5?? That must be very terrible in your eyes… I understand your concern but please don’t be.. They love spending the couple hours with their grandmother or the fun babysitter.. Hope this helps you understand. Thank you all for your positive comments love you! Xo”

Can u believe this crap! I guess the truth hurts. Oh and I replied back big time. I don’t take her shit lightly. She wants us to believe she’s only away from them for 2 hours. Yeah right!

Apparently Melissa has to pay for her own nanny, because Teresa is hogging Mrs. Gorga as her babysitter.

During season 3, episode 7, the cameras recorded this exchange between the Marco sisters about Teresa and her mother:

Lysa Simpson: Doesn’t she (Teresa) have a nanny?

Melissa: No, my mother-in-law’s her nanny (Lysa Simpson rolls her eyes). They can’t pay for a nanny right now; that wouldn’t be smart. My mother-in-law babysits for Teresa every single day. Whatever, I don’t care. That’s why I gotta nanny. My husband works hard and we can pay for it. Whatya gonna do?

Prior to Melissa joining the cast in season 3, she tweeted this about Teresa during the airing of season 2:

Melissa Marco-Gorga
Thats right Andrea! I agree I hate when people say I don’t need a nanny I do everything myself, & their mother is there everyday!!!!

Meet Melissa Gorga

RealCityHousewife
September 2, 2010

She is Teresa Giudice’s sister-in-law, and the next Real Housewife of New Jersey. Melissa worked as a secretary for Teresa’s brother Guiseppe before marrying him and becoming a housewife. They have three children together; two boys and a girl. Her youngest son is the infamous “nephew” mentioned at the reunion on Monday night. Her and Teresa aren’t exactly bff’s and Teresa is reportedly very unhappy that she is going to be a part of the show. According to rumors Teresa blocked Melissa from joining the show in the past and is threatening Bravo with “it’s her or me”. Maybe this is why Teresa became so insanely mad over the mere mention of Melissa’s child? Maybe the addition of Melissa to the cast is what was really fueling her raging outburst and her anger was not about her family being brought up on air, but about the fact that her family is now going to be on the air with her, and undoubtedly stealing her spot light. Melissa has a stunning home that blows all other Real Housewives’ homes out of the water. And that’s including the New York ladies’ Hamptons homes. She reportedly has a live-in maid and two live-in nannies.
