Bravo Insiders Say Andy Cohen Hates Teresa Giudice

“My roommate (WWHL staff member) has gone out and had drinks with Melissa and they are the ‘party people’, kind of how they portray themselves on the show. He didn’t say Teresa was a bad person, just that ‘she and her husband are total weirdos’. He seemed to think they had some kind of emotional/social problems and that they seemed ‘off’.” – JerseyGirl, August 24, 2012, Fame-Whorgas

“I can confirm that the producers think the Giudices are weird. I don’t know what that means, lol, but when I talked to my roommate (WWHL staff member) he just said ‘Teresa and Joe are just… WEIRD.’ And when I asked him to elaborate or why they thought that, he said, ‘I don’t really know, there’s just something off about them. They are strange people’.” – JerseyGirl, September 19, 2012, Fame-Whorgas

“Andy is supposed to act neutral about all the housewives and is not supposed to play favorites, but it’s just known among the staff that he dislikes Teresa, particularly because of the homophobic stuff her husband has said, and also because he thinks she’s emotionally unstable. I don’t really know specifics.” – JerseyGirl, August 25, 2012, Fame-Whorgas

“My roommate (the WWHL staff member] confirmed that Andy hates Teresa (my roommate hates her too) and everyone says she’s become like Jill Zarin, and the fame has gone to her head. (Sort of the same argument that Melissa/Kathy always make…) He said Andy LOVES Melissa and Joe. However, the producers think that Teresa needs a ‘friend’ for next season because this whole four on one thing is getting old, and that they’re considering her makeup artist Priscilla as another housewife, and one of the housewives would go… and it would probably be Kathy, because she basically serves the same purpose as Melissa, which is being a family member who torments Teresa.” – JerseyGirl, August 24, 2012, Fame-Whorgas

“I just wanted you to know that you are so on the right track with this Cat [Rodriguez] person. They hate Teresa because they think she is stupid and Joe won’t play along; in fact, he acts more inappropriately just to piss them off. He couldn’t care less how he comes across.” – Source, September 26, 2012, Fame-Whorgas

“It was after Andy started to have more input in the series once again, after seeing disappointing and confusing early footage, that Cat [Rodgriguez] started getting worried about her job, so she knew she needed to bring the drama.” – Former RHONJ post production supervisor when asked, “Can you just clear up who invited the man who outs Melissa as a stripper?”

“Andy Cohen does play a role in the editing process. He has said so directly in interviews.” – Will Love, September 18, 2012, Twitter

According to a ‘Bravo insider’ who contacted Fame-Whorgas via e-mail, although Andy Cohen blames ‘interns’ for viewer comments being censored on the Housewives’ Bravo blogs, it is a “preposterous excuse he uses when asked why some comments aren’t posted… Andy approves EVERYTHING!”

The insider goes on to say that:

“The fact is, the only people permitted to handle the Bravo website [comments] are Bravo employees [not interns] who are on Andy’s ‘up my ass’ list and follow his directions. AN EMPLOYEE is assigned to monitor the comments, which means the majority of the comments that get posted are the ones that Andy sees as fit, and that employee is considered to be doing a ‘good job’!”

The insider says that Andy’s reason for casting Adriana on the second season of the show is linked to his dislike for Teresa:

“Andy never really wanted to cast Adriana [De Moura]. Let’s face it — she’s not the Miami ‘socialite’ she sets herself out to be and doesn’t have an enticing story line. Adriana is your typical ‘married her Sugar Daddy type of (Reality TV) gal’. RHOM, as you know, was never to be a part of the Housewives Franchise (remember the horrific ‘Miami Social’?).”

The insider contends that Andy uses Adriana on RHOM to mock Teresa:

Andy hates Teresa so much that he took it up a notch a couple years ago and continues with the game he plays. Andy got Adriana and Lea from RHOM in on one these games he plays. Sadly it has involved poor little Audriana. You will have to go back and look through Teresa’s Bravo blogs in the beginning of season 2 (when Teresa wrote her own blogs!).”

The insider is referring to Teresa’s Bravo blog dated May 25, 2010, where she writes about how she came up with the names for her children — how all her girls don’t have a middle name, all their names (including Teresa and her mother) end with an ‘a’, and how she originally was going to name Audriana ‘Adriana’ but made up the name ‘Audriana’ and named her that instead. The insider says “this gives you a clue to why Andy started to play this game with Adriana” of RHOM.

Here is what Teresa wrote in her blog, ‘Meet Baby Audriana!‘:

“I made up the name Audriana (I’m sure I’ll hear from a bunch of Audrianas now! Hi! Love love love your name!) I never heard anyone with the name and I liked Adriana, but I wanted it to have the Italian sounding ‘u’ in it, so I just added a ‘u.’ I like pretty and unusual girls names that end in an ‘a’ of course!”

The insider explains that Andy calls Adriana of RHOM ‘Audriana’ to mock Teresa for claiming she made up the name:

“Since Teresa thinks she made up the name ‘Audriana’, Andy (in his childish ways) is getting back at Teresa by calling Adriana ‘Audriana’. It’s really sad that Teresa’s daughter is used in Andy’s game.”

The insider says that Adriana of RHOM allows Andy to call her ‘Audriana’ because:

“Other than Adriana (desperately) wanting to be on TV, it helped Adriana stay around for season 2 of RHOM, believe it or not. Re-watch the WWHL episode with Adriana on — watch how Andy calls her ‘Audriana’ more than he would call a person by their name, and you’ll notice some other things as well. For Andy, and as silly as it sounds (and is), when Andy asked Adriana if he could call her ‘Audriana’, of course Adriana agreed, and Andy’s eyes lit up: he has the mentality of a 6th grader. Notice in season 1 (and season 2), Lea Black awkwardly calls Adriana, ‘Audriana’ — Lea has known Adriana before filming ‘Miami Dinner party’ (which is now RHOM), and Lea knows that ‘Audriana’ is not Adriana’s name.”

The insider asserts that:

“Unless you live under a rock, everyone knows Andy can’t stand Teresa. Look at the Bravo TV website — it still has ‘Teresa’s 15 Minutes of Fame‘ and not-so-nice head-lines about Teresa in the Dish section.”

The insider concludes by stating:

“It’s really sad that Andy goes to these extremes to spite Teresa! The ‘Andy Cohen’ you see on WWHL is not the real ‘Andy Cohen’.”

Summary: The source (who sent the story to about five bloggers) said Adriana was kept on the show because of her name, not that she was hired orginally because of it. The Miami show was a Bravo special with a different title and was added to The Real Housewives line-up in the second season and, according to the source, Adriana was kept around for the second season (which would have been the first season under the new name) because Andy liked using her to mock Teresa for his own personal amusement, which nobody else picked up on. It is a bizarre theory and one that is hard to believe, but Fame-Whorgas published this story because the source corroborates other Bravo insiders who say that Andy hates Teresa. The source appears to be a Bravo insider, and it is his/her opinion, not fact, that Andy keeps Adriana around to amuse himself in mocking Teresa (who blogged that she made up the name Audriana). According to commenters here at Fame-Whorgas, Andy does call Adriana ‘Audrianna’ and he did so again at the Miami reunion in December 2012/January 2013 as well as when she was on WWHL. The source my be wrong in his/her opinion that Andy does this on purpose, but his/her opinion that Andy doesn’t like the Giudices is supported by other Bravo insiders.
