Kim G’s Friend, Monica Chacon, Says She’s Been Working with Federal Investigators for Four Years to Nab the Giudices

July 30, 2013

After the story broke that Joe and Teresa Giudice were indicted for fraud and released on $500,000 bond each, Kim Granatell (Kim G), who is Kim D’s sister-in-law, decided to celebrate by poking fun of Teresa on Twitter – all because, during RHONJ season 2, Teresa joked about her “old lady butt crack” on the stripper pole with Danielle Staub, referred to her as “elderly,” and called her “Kim Grannytell.”

The following are Kim G’s hate tweets directed at Teresa on July 30, 2013:

Kim G tagged self-proclaimed “celebrity magnet” Tom Murro (her good friend, pictured with her above, who is also a friend of the Manzos and Lauritas), tagged Reality Tea, and Jacqueline Laurita in her hate tweets – tagging Jacqueline speaks volumes.

Kim G is Jacqueline’s friend and neighbor – could Jacqueline have been helping Monica Chacon and the federal investigators? During the taping of season 4, Jacqueline and the other cast members tried very hard to get Teresa to admit to being paid for magazine covers and articles and consistently asked her about financial matters when Bravo’s cameras were rolling.

Below are Kim G’s tweets to Jacqueline on October 20, 2011, where she says, “So glad Jacqueline, myself and Tom Murro converse everyday… oh, I forgot, Monica too!”

Update July 31, 2013: On July 31, 2013, Jacqueline called out Kim G for her hate tweets directed at Teresa:

Kim G’s friend Monica Chacon (seated far right in the photo below) told RadarOnline on July 30, 2013, that she has been working with federal investigators over the past four years to nab the Giudices (so would that make her a snitch, rat, narc, fink?).

Monica Chacon

Monica’s husband, William Saracino of Totowa, NJ, is the attorney for Joe Giudice’s former business partner, Joseph Mastropole, who sued Joe and Teresa in 2007 for $260,000, the debt due in a business divorce agreement. Mastropole accused Juicy of forging his signature on documents to discharge a mortgage on property they jointly owned for the purpose of refinancing the property to garner funds.

Juicy forged Mastropole’s signature on the discharge of a mortgage for 17 Webster Place, and in June 2007, refinanced the mortgage on the property, whereby a preexisting $994,565 Astoria Federal mortgage was replaced with $1,675,000 of Dominion mortgages.

Juicy admitted that he forged the signature but testified that on any occasion Mastropole had authorized him to sign his name to documents (on camera in season 4, Juicy said he had his implied permission to do so, or something to that effect), which Mastropole denied, testifying that Juicy signed his name without his knowledge or authorization. Juicy also admitted during his testimony to forging the notary’s signature and the notary seal.

Juicy was found liable in court for the debt in the amount of $255,000 (Juicy went to Mastropole at some time in December 2007 and gave him a $5,000 payment, attributed by Mastropole to relate to an earlier vehicle transaction, but credited against the $260,000 debt by the awarding court in the judgment of October 23, 2009).

The judge wrote: “The Giudice forgery under the circumstances established in this proceeding leads to the clear conclusion that J. Giudice defrauded Mastropole. That conclusion justifies excepting Mastropole’s claim from any bankruptcy discharge of J. Giudice which might eventuate.”

Public records show that there is still an open judgment of $255,000, meaning he has not paid Mastropole.

You can read the opinion letter on the case here, which was written by the bankruptcy judge (at the time the case was before the court, in December 2010, Juicy had not withdrawn his bankruptcy petition, and Mastropole was suing so that the debt due him would be excepted from bankruptcy discharge). The letter is very damning against Juicy. The judge writes: “The extraordinary web of lies and misrepresentations woven by Giudice to implement and cover his misconduct reflects on his approach to business matters, and suggests his disregard for legal restraints which would bind others.”

Update July 31, 2013: Monica spoke with RadarOnline again on July 31, 2013, and said the following about the Giudices:

According to attorney Monica Chacon, who represented Joe’s former business partner Joe Mastropole in a 2007 fraud case, Joe allegedly used “gang” tactics to intimidate her and her client.

“Someone blew out seven windows at our office the same day we filed in court,” she claims. “They were shooting slingshots with marbles. Of course we didn’t catch Joe doing it, but my and my husband’s office and Joe Mastropole’s office were both targeted the same day we filed in court. It wasn’t a coincidence.”

“You see a lot of different types of people when you’re a lawyer, but these two … I don’t know if they’re just that dumb, or if they’re crazy smart.”

“They just don’t care!” Chacon says. “They do what they want, and they say what they want, and figure that someday they’ll deal with the implications.”

“Even Al Capone didn’t go down for murdering people, he went down for tax evasion!” Chacon laughs.

But despite rumors, she says that Joe and Teresa definitely don’t have mafia ties.

“They have an inner-city, gang mentality,” Chacon explains. “They’re like people who have nothing to lose. That’s what you’re dealing with. It’s crazy.”

The following is an excerpt from the July 30, 2013 RadarOnline article where Monica says she has been working with the feds to nab the Guidices.

A lawyer who worked to have them found liable for fraud back in 2007 tells RadarOnline.com that she feels vindicated — and even a little bit pleased.

“It does feel good,” attorney Monica Chacon tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. Chacon represented Joe’s former business partner Joe Mastropole when he sued Giudice for fraud in 2007.

“The work we put in to make sure the judge recognized they were committing fraud ultimately resulted in them withdrawing their petition [and tipping off the feds],” she explains. “It’s been a long road.”

In fact, Chacon says, she’s been aiding federal investigators in their work to nab the Giudices for years. “Our office has had calls from some federal agencies over the past four years,” she reveals. “You don’t think it’s gonna come to anything and then finally [it happens].”

Still, she says, “Teresa and Joe’s true day of reckoning is yet to come. The federal case is still ongoing. To actual vindication, I think it will be a long road.”

“But finally it feels like people are opening their eyes to the situation after so many years,” Chacon says. “Little by little, the truth is starting to come out. They’re starting to show who they really are and what they are about.”

“Everybody around her knows they’re sleazy,” Chacon insists. “I think that their fans must be from anywhere but New Jersey!”

Monica was Kim G’s guest at the Gorga’s Christmas party in their home during season 3 episode 10 (photos below) – she introduced herself as “the lawyer suing Teresa.” She is the “lawyer” the Gorgas like to boast about kicking out of the party to appease Teresa – Teresa was upset that Monica was there, in her brother’s house, because the two had a verbal altercation at the court house earlier that day. According to an insider, both Bravo and Melissa invited Monica to the party, although, during the episode, Melissa denied even knowing her.

During season 3 episode 10 (Melissa’s Christmas party), Melissa first claimed, “I don’t even know who the woman [Monica] is, so why is she in my house?” Then she feigned surprise recognition when Kim G said to Melissa, “Say ‘hi’ to Monica again.” Melissa quickly regrouped and said, “I think I met you at the fashion show.”

Lets flashback to some older articles at FW where Monica Chacon is mentioned. The following are excerpts from those articles.

Comment Posted by ‘Insider’ at Reality Tea on September 17, 2011:

“This is how Don C works. She planned to humiliate Kim G, who Missy and Bravo TOGETHER invited with Monica Chacon. Don C turned on Tre because she is pissed at Dina and taking it out on Tre. She is angry that Tre does not jump when she speaks ala Jac. Don expects everyone to listen to her, and when they don’t, all hell breaks loose. This is why she likes Missy, who only kisses Don’s ass to spite Tre.

According to Tom Murro:

“Kim G. did not invite me to Melissa’s party,” said Monica Chacon, who is outraged over having been set up for a public fallout. “I went as Kim’s guest after a producer of ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ invited me to a charity event, supposedly with the consent of the hostess, Melissa Gorga.” I was also assured that Teresa would not be at the event since she and Melissa did not get along. Without getting into specifics which are irrelevant at this point, Bravo should be ashamed of themselves for setting someone up who did not sign up to be a part of the show or have a venue with which to defend myself. There are always three sides to every story. But as far I knew, I was simply going as a guest to a charity event. It is unbelievable how everything unfolded.”

Comment by Lee on May 15, 2012 (originally posted at AllAboutTRH.com):

Teresa’s bankruptcy was exposed by Danielle at the 1st Posche fashion show (season 2) when she said Teresa’s house was in foreclosure (Melissa fed Danielle this information, which was a lie). After that episode aired, the wave of articles on the web and the magazines started. Monica Chacon, who was the lawyer representing Joe Giudice’s partner, fed a lot of dirt to Kim G, and she, in turn, fed it to Danielle and the bloggers. When they were ready to film season 3, Teresa was forced to talk about it because the Bravo producers invited Monica to the 2nd Posche Fashion show and the Gorga’s Christmas party. Remember when Monica introduced herself to Melissa and Kathy as the lawyer suing Teresa. Let’s not forget, the Wakiles and the Gorgas were asked to be on the show if they would address Teresa’s personnel finances.

Reality Tea on August 8, 2012:

Kim Granatell returned to the show in snippets for Season 3. She appeared at Melissa Gorga‘s Christmas party with Monica Chacon and was asked to leave. Kim G insists the producers put a lot of pressure on her to make that cameo. And they were texting her to appear at the season 4 Posche Fashion Show, among other things.

Adios Lunatic, Guest Blogger on Fame-Whorgas, October 14, 2012:

In order to understand this season, we need to revisit the Gorga’s Christmas party in season 3. We all remember what happened to Kim G, correct? She was thrown out, her and the rat attorney [Monica Chacon] she brought with her. And no one likes a rat, or Kim G, for that matter… Kim G was a sacrificial lamb. Gladly sacrificed by the cast and the producers. She must have been a huge pain to the producers, trying to wriggle her way on to the show constantly. The producers had enough on their plates with the Gorga/Manzo/Laurita/Wakile clown posse, so they needed to ensure they would embarrass Kim G enough so that she will never darken their door again.

The producers had in mind, later in the season finale at the Posche Fashion Show (PFS), how they were going to utilize the “action” of Monica Chacon being thrown out of the Christmas party; however, the cast was not aware that this was the producers’ end game.

Back in season 3, Kim G brought the attorney turned rat, Monica Chacon, with her to the party [that is what the producers told her to do – see “related” story at the end of this article]. Even though Monica was asked to leave for EVERYONE’S benefit, I don’t think Teresa’s feelings were foremost in anyone’s minds — the producers, possibly, but no one else.

I believe Melissa was told by the producers that if she asked Monica Chacon to leave her Christmas party, they would make nice for Melissa somewhere else. And Kim G, who came bearing a BIG gift wrapped as the rat attorney [of Juicy's former business partner], was shocked and dismayed when she was later thrown out — she thought she would be welcomed (she knows that Melissa hates Teresa) for bringing someone who Teresa just had a confrontation with at the court house, but was thrown out instead because of Caroline Manzo’s dislike for her.

A day after we reported on the drama that took place during the annual Posche Fashion Show on Tuesday night, we now have more details on what really went down thanks to an insider who was not only at the event, but is actually close with the cast members. According to the insider, Monica Chacon was NOT at the event, and neither was Kim G. though the producers of the show wanted her there and even invited her. Kim G. however sensed the set up and declined the invite which in itself is quite shocking.

RealityTea on August 3, 2012:

The fringe player from RHONJ seasons past talks to RadarOnline.com about the night of the women’s reunion… the night from which Jacq was glaringly absent. Kim G reveals, “Jacqueline seemed so traumatized that night, so we sat on my couch, had a few shots of Cafe Patron and chatted ‘til 3 a.m., Jacqueline telling me that she hated Teresa Giudice, and that I had been right about her all along.” At least you’re not tooting your own horn, Kim!

I’m not going to say that I think Kim G. was right all along, because let’s be honest, she just wants air time.  However, I do believe that Jacqueline was in need of a lot of Patron that night!  Kim shares with the site, “She was crying and completely broken over the mess the show had become and I was comforting her.”

Kim continues, explaining, “Jacqueline said she didn’t trust anyone, and she was very disappointed in Teresa.”

Comment at Reality Tea on August 16, 2011:

Oh yeah…your a hypocrite and a pot stirrer. Jacqueline knew Kim G and that Murro guy sent the pictures of Joe Guidice cheating, she knew that Kim G has said nasty things about Caroline, Kim G went to court with Danielle to press charges against Ashley, Kim G brought Monica Chacon to Melissa’s party…..yet Jacqueline talks, tweets and engages Kim? Jacqueline interviewed and even retweeted the guy that sent those photos of Joe Guidice to the gossip mags……um yeah. I am guessing that is why Teresa felt that Jacqueline was involved in the photo scandal as she is so buddy buddy with the culprits who hurtfully did this.

Kim Granatell tweeted on October 18 and 19 of 2011:

Jacqueline knows what Teresa is all about..she admitted to me, I was right all along!

InTouch Mag: Teresa’s husband and his latest GF. Thanks to Tom Murro and myself for having those photos! Jacqueline nothing to do with them.

And I know Jacqueline will be thrilled!

Oh and I forgot Monica Chacon..my fabulous lawyer who so wants to bring Teresa down..and will! Don’t mess with my Cuban GF!!

Oh what a wealth of knowledge..and so much more to come!

So glad Jacqueline, myself, and Tom Murro converse each day…oh I forgot Monica (Chacon) too!!

Kim G wants to be a reality TV star. The following are excerpts from some stories about her quest.

Reality Tea on on August 8, 2012:

Lord help us all, the biggest Real Housewives of New Jersey famewhore to ever hit the garden state (or Bravo) is unleashing a new book upon us. Yes, yes… if you thought the literary prowess of Danielle Staub was paltry, feast your eyes on Kim Granatell‘s attempt!

Kim’s book will detail her experiences on RHONJ of course, the implosion of her marriage, why she was so crazy, and her new life as an ex-wife starting over. I don’t think all the words in the world could explain why Kim is so nuts, but ok.

Kim says she was forced to start over once her husband left her and the show ruined her reputation, but it was all a blessing in disguise. ”Everybody had the wrong idea about me because of what they saw on ‘reality’ TV,” Kim asserts. Afterwards, “I became very isolated.”

Reality Tea on December 21, 2012:

Love her or hate her, you know Kim Granatell (aka Kim G) brings the drama to New Jersey! The last we heard, Kim was working on a book (Amazon is going to be bursting with RHONJ cast members in 2013) and she was in talks to branch off to another reality TV show and leave those NJ Housewives behind. True to her word, Kimmy G is attached to the new show “The New Jersey Socialites”. This won’t be your typical “I’m so rich and fabulous yet the bank just put a lock on my front door in real life” type shows. It’s set to be a competition style series – for charity! Check out the full press release below!

Reality Tea on February 26, 2013:

What do strippers, Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Kim Granatell and the hit HBO show The Sopranos have in common? A new reality show heading our way: “The Real Girls of the Bada Bing”. The Real Girls Of The Bada-Bing follows the everyday lives of the strippers/exotic dancers who work at Satin Dolls (the club used as the Bada Bing on The Sopranos). Where does Kim G fit into all of this? Don’t worry, she’s not climbing a pole! Kim is actually an associate producer and the resident den mother, trying to help some of the girls. The show is described as a little “Jersey Shore meets the Housewives meets the Sopranos”.

Kim G, been banned from RHONJ, is desperate for attention.

Reality Tea on on August 5, 2012:

Kim Granatell is, like, desperate for some attention. Like really, really desperate. Pay attention to her puh-lease, Andy Cohen! The wannabe Real Housewives of New Jersey star continues her reign of terror by speaking out against the woebegone Teresa Giudice. Poor Teresa – she hasn’t a friend in the world. Oh, except for her makeup artist!

In Kim G.’s latest assault on reason and sanity, she announces that Teresa is just as guilty as her husband Joe Giudice and deserves jail time as well!

RadarOnline on August 3, 2012:

“I hope the judge throws the book at him,” former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Kim Granatell exclusively told RadarOnline.com. Kim clashed with most of the women and is no longer on the hit Bravo reality show, but she still has zingers to send at her ex co-stars. “What goes around comes around and it’s all catching up to him,” she said about Joe’s run in with the law. “Teresa is as guilty as he is, and just as dumb,” Kim G told our friend Fox News’ Tom Murro. She continued with her rant, offering up a brazen new idea for a spinoff reality show. “Maybe Teresa should join him in prison and they can have his and hers bunks so that they can do a spinoff show called The Real Inmates Of New Jersey.”

NY Post on April 25, 2011:

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Kim G seems smitten with “dad of the year” Michael Lohan. “I just got back from making out with Michael Lohan in Florida,” Kim Granatell breathlessly told us. The pint-sized reality show sidekick said she’s been seeing Lohan since January and they’re working together on a “teen rehab” project out of Fort Lauderdale. “He’s got a very big heart,” she told us. “He’s a great guy.” Granatell confesses she has yet to meet Michael’s daughter, Lindsay, to compare hair extensions.

The tears Teresa cries over Jacqueline’s betrayal are very real. Jacqueline hurt her, she hurt her very, very badly. Teresa’s pain is real, palpable. I think many of us on this blog know how that feels…. Even Juicy teared up when Teresa explained why she couldn’t forgive her. It’s heartbreaking.

Joe’s brother Pete was pulled over in NJ for a routine traffic stop. When he gave the police his license, they ran it, but it wasn’t him on the photo, it was Joe. When they looked further, they saw the license was recently issued as a duplicate and the fraud was discovered. The Lauritas had nothing to do with it..

Without a doubt Jacqueline played apart in it and I truly believe Melissa, Joe and Melissa’s envious sisters played a part in this as well. What’s in the dark will always come into the light. In due time Teresa will know the truth. They don’t even realize that all this negative exposure on Teresa is just gonna keep her name out for a long period of time and because some want to see her fail especially Melissa and Joe, Teresa will gain more fans.

Kim G is way too happy about Teresa and Juicy being indicted. I guess it’s true that misery loves company. She might not like Teresa for the old lady comments, but that certainly isn’t a reason to want a mother and father of young children to go to jail. And, did anyone notice that she knows a lot about jail???

Me too. All day everyday. The only one who seems to be thinking of Teresa is that fans and of course Dina. It would seem that since the others are facing their own financial issues they’d at least sit down and talk strategy with Teresa and Joe; but then again they’re all so fucking stupid. I think it sucks to just keep going after someone, or trying to get them charged by the federal government for no reason or simply because you don’t like them. I’m the kind of person, that if I cannot help you, I won’t hurt you. This says everything about Monica’s character to me. I know it’s a bit dramatic, but I swear I could compare teresa to Julius Caesar. Every since she signed that cursed Bravo contract she’s been surrounded by jealousy and hate. From the inside (her sister in law and brother) to the outside. These people couldn’t beat her or outsmart her, so they’re using a bigger muscle to topple her. Teresa I’m thinking about you girlie.

Copy that, Still Team Teresa! I have read so many blogs today about Teresa and Joe’s indictment and so many bad and negative comments are posted about them on so many blogs and websites and that saggy old-assed kim g is on twitter saying terrible things about tre. It’s really sad, what they did was bad but everyone on the show has something they can go down for, so they better not look down on the guidices. I feel horrible for Teresa and how she must feel right now regarding her daughters and how her little daughters feel, this is so sad. Ita too. I do read alot of stuff and people can be so rude my self included towards Melho anyway. Cant stand that chic and how jealous she is.from seaon one i liked Tre than maybe not so much then loved her again and one thing you can say about Tre is she seems very loyal. What Wacko and Don have done to her is disgusting. Im glad i found this website because i learned so much of what i thought to be true but seeing that others see it too is refreshing. Team Teresa. Melissa will get KARMA back at her trust and believe. Her sisters are jealous. I also believe that Lysa was trying to befriend Tre before Melho got on the show so she her self could get on, but then when Melho got on Lysa turned on Tre too. Tre said it in the first episode from the christian that Lysa said different when shes on the phone with Tre and i totally believe that!! Im sad for Tre and Juicy and hope all works out for them. Its sick that people want to dig up dirt on them but hide their own shade. These people Jac, Caro, Monica, and the rest are all jealous and im sure shady too.

Funny thing is you hear nothing about any of the others financial crises….which, in the end of things, mean that they are STILL as irrelevant as they always were. Theresa is still THE fanbase of the show.

39 charges are an awful lot of charges and man hours put into working on the case. It is partially legitimate for that many charges to be thrown out there. Real shame, because they seem like good people (didn’t steal from charity, like some of the families), and they have just been attacked ever since Danielle smartly stepped away from the show. Unfortunately, the tax thing will likely end up the biggest deal. The IRS does not mess. Well, let me be clearer – we dont stop them from not messing. The deeper this gets, the more disturbed I find Bravo to be as a business and a network. They have meetings upon meetings upon meetings on how to deceive and create drama. Ugh. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night with that kind of job. Not that Im so high and mighty that I haven’t been watching, but being the puppetmaster requires a certain amount of sociopathy I wouldn’t want to spread.

      July 31, 2013 at 3:46 AM

Needanorherhobby I believe she can be held accountable for running her mouth a real lawyer doesn’t do that. Remember when she went up to Katfish and Meho and said to them “I’m the lawyer suing Teresa” and Katfish and Meho were very glad to hear that.
I always wondered why those two pigs were so happy to hear someone say that about thier own family member.

I always thought that was so cheap and unprofessional. It was a “don’t hire me” walking billboard! It seemed like she was being totally partial and a lawyer is supposed to defend one side which is very different. It seemed she took it personally and that’s not cool……and a bit sad really.

I would think (disclosure: I know nothing about law) that once Chacon knew Teresa was at the party, she would have removed herself citing conflict of interest and at the very least ethical issues just to ensure, even if she wasn’t legally required to leave the room, that nothing could have happened to jeopardize her client’s case. Especially considering that she’d already had an altercation with Tre hours earlier. So I’m not buying this set-up by Bravo business – yes, we know that Bravo sets everything up, I just think Chacon knew exactly what kind of pile she was about to step into. Wanted her airtime like the rest of them.

Isn’t it very telling the web weaved. Monica is Kim’s bff… who is neighbors with Jac and SIL with Kim D. I am not saying that the Giudices are not responsible for what they are being charged with but who provided Monica all this extra info? The fact that Jac cried and cried because Tre didn’t want to tell her all about her financial situation is suspect.

Also, didn’t Jac’s mom tweeted saying Jac was being put up to do things against her will? Yet, the Laurita’s have a HUGE FRAUD claim against them, and nothing yet… Maybe this Chacon (heaux) worked out some “favors” in exchange??

I find it ridiculous that Kim G has so much money, 0 class, 0 life, 0 spine. You know, God (or life) always gets even. She better pray a traditional “italian” from “waste Management” doesn’t get ticked off and wipes her or her son just for kicks.

Fame I feel so bad because I didn’t specify in my post that I made about when Monica Chacon walked up to Kathy and Melissa and introduced herself as the lawyer suing Teresa. It happened at a fashion show early on season 3 . Kathy and Melissa were sitting at thier table eating as Kim G. walks up with Monica Chacon, Kim G says hi to Kathy and Melissa and then introduced Monica, Monica then says “hi I’mrthe lawyer suing Teresa” .
I apologize Fame I should have been more specific in my post. It was truly my fault.

The civil case with Joe and his ex partner is resolved, the ex partner was awarded a judgement.. As far as Monica is concerned, the only privileged communication is between her and her client, so I don’t know what she would be in trouble for.

    • Stefanie
      July 31, 2013 at 4:18 AM

First it has to be proven she has run her mouth about the case with ajuicy’s former partner. If they can prove she did that she could be disbarred or face some ethics violation with the Bar.

    • July 31, 2013 at 6:46 AM

I work in law & let me tell you, if she’s been running her mouth to Kim G., etc.(how else would Kim G. know certain things?) there would be a severe case of confidentiality broken on her part. Hell, even if my Dad were to come into my lawfirm for legal advice, I couldn’t then go to my brother’s & say “Hey, Dad came into the office today to get a Power of Attorney” (or whatever) Anything that is taking place legally, you keep your mouth SHUT no matter who or what it is. Monica needs to be looked into re: her legally binding ethics

Agreed! She showed massive unprofessionalism when she introduced herself as “The lawyer suing Teresa” at the xmas party, so I suspect that would tide over into other things too. She’s not the lawyer who was suing them. Her husband was the lawyer suing them, which means he was telling her things about the case and she was repeating them. I think he can lose his law license if a complaint is filed with the bar association against him.

And we all know that is kind of the goal right? If they make Teresa and us look bad/crazy then in their minds- that means THEY are not and that has been the problem w these story lines all along–it is not about “right or wrong” there is a lot of space in between!!!!

Tassie Devil , I believe you are right so very right. It all makes sense now! I’m very saddened for Teresa my God all of those she trusted the most were working behind her back to bring her down. This whole thing explains the confrontation that piece of scum Jaquline had with Teresa on the deck she was probably getting information for the rat chicon. Jaquline was being scum the whole time because she herself and her husband were already scamming Signature Apparel to live the lavish lifestyle they clearly couldn’t afford. I wondered all day day why Jaquline and her husband haven’t been to court because what they did was far worse than what Teresa and Joe are being blamed for.
I hope that rat Chicon is also looking into the others fake lavish lifestyles . Wow I’m not even shocked that Jaquline and her scum self could have been involved after all she is still friends with that old lady Kim G. I never liked that old hag to begin with.
I can’t believe this no wonder everyone on that show kept trying to make Teresa open up about her finances otherwise why would they care so much?
Teresa hun I can almost guarantee that in light of all this your fan base has grown even bigger because nobody likes what’s being done to you and your husband you’re innocent until proven guilty in my book. Don’t forget God works in mysterious ways keep your faith up.

Look, let’s not get crazy. What the Giudices did is not right. They broke the law. BUT let’s be for real… if they would have sustained their debts and not try to file for bankruptcy like thousand’s of American’s did when shyte hit the fan in 2008… nothing would have happened, they would have paid off their debts and nobody would have ever known! That was their problem if they basically wanted to live rich before getting paid. Eventually they would have been able to keep up with the Joneses… because they became the Joneses. Fradulent or not. That is the reality of it.

Too bad they were not really that bright after all. Love them or not. It was wrong and it was stupid. All for nothing! All the riches about to be seized. I am surprised they have not. Yet, this lady (Tre) has legit made some guap in the past few years. That is a fact. I wish people STFU in other sites talking extra and baseless nonsense. They are just talking to type… says a lot about their own miserable lives. Anyway, the truth is they have generated money that has nothing to do with the these loans. This is why maybe the Feds can’t seize everything and haven’t yet. Not like they were drug dealers with only illicit funds as income. The bankruptcy issue was settled on certain terms and for a period of time. She was actually supposed to keep working to settle those debts and she has. I don’t understand why the mags and show $$$ had to be in questioned, since the bankruptcy period was from 01-08. They did hid assets. Many people do this, BTW,, yet they are on these boards frontling like they are the most law abiding citizens. I wonder how many of these idiots have kids & husbands in jail? The power that a keyboard and monitor gives to them.. how preposterous is that?!
Handle your earth and let God handle his heaven. Who’s to judge us.

The fact that people are so invested in wishing ill to strangers…. makes me dislike humans! Let me go connect to my dead spirits, they are better.

Has anyone else been struck by the fact that KIM D. is KIM G’s SIL???!!!!! What’s up with THAT??!!!! To me, this is MORE evidence that Jac and Caro and the rest KNEW that Kim D. was a traitor to Teresa—they were trying to tell her to stay away from Kim, but they couldn’t highlight the real reasons why so they were bringing up all of the petty Meho and JGorga stuff, which, I think they were legit mad about BUT if they all cooperated, then it makes sense why and how Kim D. has them all by the balls and that’s why JGorga apologized and why there is the huge group unity between them, if they would all be against her in front of the cameras they way they have, I can only imagine what they do or have done behind the scenes.

There is not a shred of evidence that points to the other members of the show “snitching” on the Giudices. The FEDERAL investigation is a result of their fraudulent responses during the bankruptcy filing. Monica Chacon has aided in the investigation because she had intimate details of their fraud due to the case she tried against the Giudices. People need to stop blaming everyone else for Teresa and Joe’s problems. The federal government does not investigate families on television because their castmates do not like them. There was very serious fraud committed by the Giudices, as shown in the 33 page indictment. Also, cooperating with federal investigators is NOT snitching. If you do no comply you can be brought up on obstruction of justice charges. Granted, other members of the show may have their own financial troubles and could end up very well being indicted on charges themselves, but it is completely irrelevant to the Giudices’ case.

      • Confused
        July 31, 2013 at 12:33 PM

While I think that you are more than likely correct in your assumption that no one on the show “snitched” I do believe that they were all interviewed by the Feds and who knows what information they had or provided. It’s also anyone else’s guess if any of them were scared that they would be next to be investigated.

How about not commit fraud. Then you would not need to worry about who was interviewed and who liked you. Have you read the indictment? There is a clear paper trail here. This case is not going to be decided by the interviews the other women gave, but by the signatures and paperwork provided by Joe and Teresa.

and yes, someone from the show more than likely did ‘snitch’…more than one person, several like the gorga’s, Laurita’s and Manzo’s…a completely filled notebook was annoumsly turned into the Feds with info on the Guidice’s…completly a ‘rat out’…

Really? So just because Kim G doesn’t like someone & this Monica chick got set up by Bravo, they want to take Teresa & Juicy down? It sounds like they worked very hard on this which tells me there may be some foul play in the game. If they are/were so dead set on taking down the the Giudices – could it be that some of the info turned in to the Feds could have been tampered with or exaggerated? This Monica chick sounds like she works for the devil. Could this Monica chick obtained some of this info she turned in to the Feds illegally. II’m asking because if something has been in public record as it should – what could she have turned in that was so damaging? A 2nd set of books? I’m so confused. Could Kim G & Monica really be this evil to want to rip Tre & Juicy from their kids because of hurt pride? Do these old ass chicks really think that life for them will be better off after all this? So many questions. For some odd reason – I really believe Tre & Juicy will some how come out of all of this on top. Here’s to hoping because I’m praying for their family.

The Manzos may be well connected & cover their tracks better. But there’s no way that ANYONE in their world would continue to associate with a rat & people who associate with rats. Time will tell. The division will be evident of who’s who. They’re all going to turn on each other soon on some lord of the flies shit! They think they may have got Juicy & Tre but there’s no way everyone else will come out unscathed. Methinks on down to Bravo too. Sometimes it’s best to leave a sleeping lion alone when you are also in the cage with it. Whew! This is all just too much!

The Manzos have the perfect money laundering machine in the Brownstone and they always have. They are safe. I did the same thing with my daughter’s wedding. “What if I go the bank right now and pay you cash, can we knock off that big tax fee?” So throw me in jail.
Same thing with her dress. the rest of them, not so much. I wonder if the BLK water bullshit was just a way for Chris to prove major financial losses and cook his books and he knew it was going to fail from day one.

What i respect about Tre and Juicy is they are truely loyal and wont rat anyone out. They may have done some of these things, but they will take the blame and keep their mouths shut. Cant say that about the rest. Tre and Joe will pay theprice and move on. Jacko and Don will rat just as fast as Monica and Kim G did. Cant wait for them all to get fired or get their own jail time. Also waiting on Bulldog_NJ to tell his truthbabout Melho. Omg its gonna be good!! Lol

I can’t believe how wacko Jacko and Caroline tried to get Teresa to admit being paid for magazine covers while cameras were rolling….they really were trying to get her into trouble without any compassion for her children.. Caroline claims to be a good mother and would do anything for her children……but would take another mother away from her children. What price is jealousy and revenge on a soul?

I think we’re not understanding what a RAT is. A rat is someone who gives up info on someone else to keep themselves out of trouble or just tells on someone because they are slimy. now as far as monica goes, she was hired by joe’s ex-biz partner to recover money he feels was fraudulently taken from him. After they won a judgement if she felt the giudices were fraudulently hiding money or filing a fraud BK to keep her client from collecting what, by court order, is rightfully his she is obligated to her client to fight and expose what she felt was fraud, If someone owed the giudices and they were doing the same thing the giudices would be exposing everything including their underwear size. I dont have a horse in the race but to label monica a RAT is absurd and defamatory.

Even though I am team Teresa jerry I have to agree with you Monica was only doing her job but the people such as Kim G and anyone else who might of given her info they’re the ones who can be called Rats especially if thy are just as shady with the finances as the Guidices.

I don’t care if she is a lawyer, she has been collaborating with the feds on building a case against a couple long after her legal duties were satisfied, that makes her a rat in my book.

    • BionicMe
      July 31, 2013 at 12:18 PM

Ok, let’s phrase it better… Monica was fed by rats. They make her job simple, usually do. That’s how the authorities gets info and evidence. There is usually a whistle blower.

    • July 31, 2013 at 2:12 PM

I must respectfully disagree, Jerry. I believe Juicy was doing “business as usual” and his “business partner” got all jelly-legged when Kim G was telling everyone that Juicy was splurging on a trip for 20 to Italy for S2. The act of suing him was because he thought the money he was owed was going to the extravagant lifestyle that Blahvo was helping the Giudice’s give the appearance of such – perhaps in hopes that when Juicy’s financials actually came out they would have a “villain” for the show.

I still maintain that the Rat is/was/has always been a Rat – a Rat of the first order. A rat is not someone that reports a crime in the course of being a good citizen- it is intertwined with the INTENT of the reporting.

          • July 31, 2013 at 5:11 PM

That whole thing was weird. Yes, there was something said about her saying Penny was a stalker and something said about Johnny blaming Teresa at that party where he got cracked in the noggin by Loony Tunes but there has also been times recently where he has shown support for Teresa through Bryan on Twitter, so who the heck knows. It’s all Greek to me :D

  15. July 31, 2013 at 1:08 AM

This is so crazy and confusing. By the time I get the pieces put together with everyone else on the show’s criminal activities, the show will be over and everyone in jail. :(

And Jac saying she hopes Juicy goes to jail, that’s rich. Whether the Giudices, Lauritas and Manzos worked together at all or all had their own ‘business’ ventures, I don’t think any amount of the Lauritas turning the Giudices in would ever get them off the hook for what they’re being charged with. Really, Juicy is coming off as an amateur compared to what Chris tried to pull off.

  16. July 31, 2013 at 1:12 AM

I remember watching that scene on Jacko’s deck and wondering, “What difference does it make if she is paid for magazine covers or not?” And Creepy Chris listening around the corners without making his presence known. At the time, it was so very strange, but now is beginning to make sense.

Since the financial crisis, the Justice Department swears it’s made strides in prosecuting financial fraud. What it means is that it has found defendants like Teresa and Joe Giudice, who commit the crime of lying to a bank. Meanwhile, the banks—who have lied to homeowners, courts, investors, and bankruptcy trustees—have escaped prosecution entirely.

      • July 31, 2013 at 10:20 AM

You do know that for a loan to get approved, it needs to be processed and there is a loan “officer” that is responsible for making sure everything is legit and it order. Where is this “officer”? There are also underwriters, title/lien officers, lawyers. Who are these people?

Back around this time, if you didn’t have the “right” credentials these “officers” copied and pasted it for you. That is a fact! When the supply vs. demand became overboard… this is what banks where doing. Pushing cement to people who couldnt afford it but they made it possible. Still, that doesn’t make the Giudices innocent. They were well aware of their situation but it sure was not hard to obtain! Hence, the market crash of 2008.

        • Jeannie5233
          July 31, 2013 at 12:59 PM

This is true – not going to get into particulars but a close family member had their name forged on a loan application made by someone who we all had suspicions of, who paid the loan officer under the table to “take care of things” so that the loan would go through. It did, but my family member found out about it, started an investigation, and it all came to light. The loan officer was fired and prosecuted. He was found guilty but I don’t remember what the sentence was. Really don’t care. Just know that all kinds of machinations were going on with the banks back then.

    • July 31, 2013 at 9:05 AM

This is why I think the government needs to stay out of most things. Government is corrupt from the top down. Why, after mismanaging (I could say worse, but…) taxpayer money, should our government be involved in our financial institutions? How these banks were not only not prosecuted but bailed out is beyond my comprehension. In real life, if you mismanage your money, guess what…you pay the price. When I got myself in credit card debt when I was younger, guess what…my fault. I worked hard and paid it off and learned my lesson. No one swooped in and patted me on the head and bailed me out so that I could likely not learn my lesson and go do it again. It seems to me that there are government incentives for being lazy as well…our social welfare program is atrocious. But that is neither her nor there, so I will try to refrain from going there. Anyway, what these banks did is criminal and what the government does is criminal and it is the taxpayers that lose, every single time.

      • July 31, 2013 at 2:32 PM

All of this – banking/financial crisis – started with the Community Reinvestment Act of ’77 – Carter Administration. Only to be made worse under Clinton with further reaching regulations in ’95. Bush tried to put an end to it in ’02 and again in ’05 but was shot down.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_Reinvestment_Act

        See, it really wasn’t Bush’s fault…

        • July 31, 2013 at 5:30 PM

@adios Actually that’s wrong. The loans that were bad were not CRA loans – they were subprime loans – CRA loans were always full doc loans. Blaming CRA was a way to deflect attention from the rich bankers getting off scot free while blaming poor people. Yes, it wasn’t all Bush’s fault but it is undeniable that his policies allowed this to go on and when the Ish hit the fan he did nothing. I’ve been working to help clean up the mess since before the crash (it started b4 the whole country felt it) sort of my area of expertise.

          • August 2, 2013 at 11:28 AM

            @lalala According to Forbes:

“People mistake banking actions taken in concert with politicians as the free market. The worst the truly free market can do is go bankrupt with no public bailout.”

“After Clinton, George W. Bush and Republicans tried to tighten up lending standards for which they were demonized by the Democrats. These efforts were pushed unsuccessfully throughout the Bush administration starting in April 2001.

“Ranking Democrats Barney Frank and Charles Schumer led their party to block these efforts in the fall of 2003. Frank made light of Republican concerns. He said, “I think we see entities that are fundamentally sound financially and withstand some of the disaster scenarios. And even if there were a problem, the federal government doesn’t bail them out. But the more pressure there is there, then the less we see in terms of affordable housing.”

The bottomline is her and her husband supposedly committed fraud 39 times! This isn’t the faux reality of RHONJ, this is the REAL WORLD! Granted the Lauritas & Manzos & Gorgas have done the same fraudulent shit and their time will come eventually too! I hope they all get sent to prison. My mom & dad busted their ass to make a living the RIGHT WAY unlike any of the families on this show. I appreciate them more & more everyday. I do feel sorry for Teresa’s kids but I’m sure they will be put in the hands of loving family members while T & J do 30+ years in jail. The fact is that if you borrow $2,000,000 …you borrowed $2,000,000 whether you’re worth that or not, it is a matter of paying it. Regardless of the “right way” of borrowing it. Debts are meant to be settled not to be righteous. In the financial sense of it.

I am team nothing but not unrealistic to think that if someone went and borrowed $2,000,000 it is the “wrong way” that is their problem to pay it back.

          • July 31, 2013 at 3:04 PM

I’m telling you, it won’t come to that. Joe will soon realize that in order to keep Teresa out of jail, he will have to plead guilty to some of the charges and do some time. They may even have to get divorced, eventually, to separate themselves financially. I know they will both fight it, but it is the only way to keep Teresa out of jail. Her world is shattered, that is for sure. I have no doubt that Joe believes himself innocent and persecuted, and that he was just doing business like everybody else. And he would want to clear their names. But sometimes, you just can’t fight the good fight. You can’t afford an army of good attorneys for a prolonged period of time, and they are going to want someone to pay. I firmly believe that the reason they went so had and deep on Teresa is because they know that Joe will have to cop a plea and do some time and possibly roll over on some other people in order to get them to drop their case against Teresa. And least you think they can’t or won’t drop their case against Teresa, they can do whatever the hell they want. Happens all the time.
I think Joe would do ten years to protect his wife and let the children grow up with their mother. Absolutely. I hope he has a great lawyer who can help him see the light. Total vindication seems like a remote possibility. So glad that Joey and Melissa are yucking it up in Vegas. How special. They really don’t care about anybody but themselves, do they?

Just read most of the indictment & the article about how banks are never prosecuted for fraud committed by them. It seems crazy that the Giudice BK attorney would not advise them to include certain incomes. I remember when the BK story broke & Tre mentioned that “her assets & income” was somehow excluded from the BK repayment. It also seems weird that the their auction never took place either. Something is not adding up. I’m wondering if all these loans obtained under false info were ever repaid in part or whole or even part of the BK proceedings. My eyes crossed trying to figure that out from the indictment. Additionally if Juicy was considered “dirty” in business dealings then what about the partner who sued him for the forged signature? Are his hands clean or is he also waiting for the other shoe to drop? All this seems like an administrative nightmare. I’m especially intrigued by the mail fraud part of it – are there certified mail registry receipts that indicate that paperwork was sent by mail? Because I use to be in real estate & would either fax docs or hand deliver/messenger things to the bank. It just all seems so weird. I hope this doesn’t become make an example out of them to further the agendas of politics! Sheesh!

    • Saddle_River_NJ
      July 31, 2013 at 9:16 AM

The mail fraud stems from the portion of Code that refers to “the use of U.S. Mail or private or commercial interstate carrier and wire communications in interstate commerce”. Basically when you deliver the executed original contracts you are using “mail” no matter the method. The “wire” portion is when the funds are electronically deposited in the attorney escrow account for distribution at closing.

Like others have said; I in no way excuse or endorse what Teresa and Joe did but I am replaying RHONJ episodes in my head and now it’s clear why Tre never explained all these things. What a huge disgusting setup! The talk of “Joe going to jail”, “I don’t know where you get your money”, “admit you were paid for those mag articles” all acting like they were so hurt on a personal friendship level when they just wanted this day to come. Who does that to their family and long time friends? And then gloat about it? I get that this is a very serious matter and illegal but reading what Kim G and Chacon are saying, they act like they just took down a drug cartel.

I really hope they cancel the show and do not air reruns so as to not give anyone on that show a second of airtime.

A rat is a rat is a rat.

I don’t support illegal behavior in any way so if the Giudices are guilty then they have to pay the piper. However, the others are all so dirty and shady that it will be interesting to see what kind of karma comes their way if they’ve truly been ratting the Giudices out. Someone might end up sleeping with the fishes (or lying in a trunk) or wearing their own orange jumpsuit. I think the real question here is who is the bigger fish? Who can rat their way out of jail time by implicating the others? Are the Guidices the big fish or some other family on TV? I guess we’ll soon find out. I just feel that people who live in glass houses probably shouldn’t be throwing any stones that might boomerang right back to them. Karma, she is a bitch.

No offense to anyone with a child with special needs. They are a blessing when your heart is filled with love… because only you can be capable of handling the struggles BUT when a vile biotch like Jac (who we see more indulged into other issues than her son) has to deal with such thing, it may be some type of punishment. Lord knows what this lady has wished for others. Life has funny ways…

    • July 31, 2013 at 2:54 PM

Teresa was in hysterics because she promised Chucky she would talk to Jackhole and T didn’t want to go back on her word and Juicy understood and gave her the Okay to go ahead and talk to Jackhole – his fondness for Chris and the sentiment of their friendship very close to the surface at that moment. That’s all that needs to be said in defense of whether T and Juicy would ever turn rat.

This is awful. My heart goes out to Giudices. My personal opinion is the whole cast was in on this and they assumed by this point in the RHNJ we would all hate the Giudices and they would go away from the show with all their legal problems and that would be the end of them. Then and only then the show would be about Caroline and her effed up family That is why we have seen a change in Caroline. I also think that is why we are seeing tension between Meho and Caroline. I think they all knew what was coming down and Meho wants the spotlight. She is not going to stand for Caroline taking over.
There isn’t a cast member that has not mentioned Juicy going to jail or prison. They have all mentioned it in the past two seasons. However I just can’t get the prediction Caroline made about Juicy going to jail and Tre writing a book. Something really stinks about all of this. With Big Al’s connections your going to tell me they didn’t know what was going on?????? If Al knew so did Caroline, and so did wacky Jac. They all sang like little birds. I’m sure of that.
What saddens me the most is Tre’s love for her family and not bringing up anything about her cast mates, and families legal woes, whilst they have all been singing like little birds to the feds. If there is one thing I admire the most about Tre it is her keeping her mouth shut and not slinging mud at the others legal problems. She is a true friend in so many ways.
I really don’t even care about the show from this point. I just care about this family who has been through so much in the past couple of years who is being put on display and tormented by Kim G. What a horrible human being.
I have been called an old lady many times in the past few years among other things that are too horrible to mention. I would never in a million years spend four years of my life getting even with anyone. What a waste of precious time left in my life that could have been spent doing something to leave a positive note in my life.
There is a saying “what you seek, is seeking you” I would hope this would apply to all of the cast from RHNJ.

Question: Modern Era Construction & Modern Era Investment (or whatever it was called in the indictment)…the financial group sounds like a DBA or subsidiary or whatever you want to call it of one of Juicy’s businesses. So theoretically, Teresa could have easily have been considered an admin asst with this group, no? I am wondering about the W2s vs. owner draw and if the difference lies in whether it is classified as an LLC/partnership or a sole proprietorship? I am pretty much clueless on all of this which is why I pay a CPA and a lawyer to make sure everything is on the up; and up…NOT going to call the CPA and ask him to explain all the nuances of this Giudice stuff to me though :D

      • July 31, 2013 at 10:03 AM

Teresa completely faking a W2 just doesn’t sound right to me is why I am questioning this.

Okay, this inane comment I am going to make is according to a conversation I had when I was 19… So like 100,000 years ago… I think a business owner can legally draw a “paycheck” as long as they are incorporated. ??????

        • July 31, 2013 at 1:33 PM

A business owner can draw a paycheck, period, I assume. Wouldn’t make sense to be in business for yourself if you couldn’t legally be paid for it. I have no idea how it is taxed…I think it is considered an owner draw against profit???? Like I said, I don’t get into all that with my husband, but he draws a weekly paycheck. I THINK the business he owns with his brother is an LLC but I’m not positive. That stuff makes no sense to me what-so-ever. I don’t even know if he has W2s or if his salary is owner draw or what…CPA handles all of that (think how difficult it would be to combine personal and 2 businesses for taxes…ugh, no thank you!!!). It all makes my head swim…

    From Today’s Bergen Record:

    By VIRGINIA ROHAN, RECORD COLUMNIST

Teresa Giudice dragged her heels about signing the contract that made her one of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Today, that seems telling. “It took me 10 to 11 months to sign. … You couldn’t know how they’re going to portray you, and do you really want your whole life out there?” Teresa told The Record in early May 2009, shortly before the show debuted, adding something that now seems ironic. “But you know what’s great about it? My whole life’s not out there. … What I wanted them to know, they knew.”

Now the world has learned a lot more about Teresa and husband Joe Giudice than they surely ever wanted outsiders to know. The Montville couple were indicted on charges they conspired to defraud banks and other lenders in connection with nearly $4 million in mortgages, construction loans and home equity loans they received between 2001 and 2008.

And the pair find themselves living in two different realities: one of wealth and privilege that viewers see on television on Sunday nights, and one of scary possibilities that began to unfold Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Newark.

In the couple’s initial court appearance on a 39-count indictment, U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Walder set bail at $500,000 each and ordered them to surrender their passports. A trial date will be set Aug. 14. Lawyers for both Giudices said they intend to plead not guilty.

In the weeks and months to come, the Giudices will be forced to relive yet another reality — the one that existed before “Housewives” came on the air. And this reality raises some serious questions for Bravo, the network that airs “RHONJ.” How well does Bravo vet its “Housewives” stars, who are promoted as being rich and fabulous? And should network executives be held accountable if they knowingly portray their stars as something they are not, then reward them with the kind of money they claimed to already have? The network again offered no comment on the matter on Tuesday.

When the Giudices’ shaky finances came to light in June 2010, eight months after the couple had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, a Bravo representative said the network “had no idea about any of that.” But maybe Bravo should have known.

In his 2012 book “Most Talkative,” Andy Cohen — Bravo’s executive vice president of development and talent as well as an on-air host — wrote that before they signed on, the five original “RHONJ” cast members “had many questions about the process and ramifications, questions unlike any we’d heard in the past. For instance: ‘Has anyone been audited as a result of this show? Or wiretapped?’Ÿ” Did this not raise a red flag? Cohen confirmed that Teresa wrestled with whether to sign her contract. She “dropped out of and then back into the show multiple times before we even started shooting,” he wrote. “We never got a straight answer about why she kept changing her mind, and at some point I just stopped asking.” Cohen should not have stopped asking.

Certainly this issue has come up before. Had Bravo more carefully checked the finances of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong, the network probably would have discovered that her boast about her husband, Russell Armstrong, being “richer than Texas” was far from true. When Russell was found dead, an apparent suicide in August 2011, Cohen writes in his book, “he’d left a suitcase full of unpaid bills next to his body.”

If his financial reality had been uncovered beforehand, his wife should have been disqualified from doing the show. That might not, ultimately, have prevented the tragedy, but it would have protected Bravo from being blamed by some media outlets for his death. Isn’t it also the job of the network to protect poseurs who are blinded by the possibility of stardom or, frankly, too dumb to protect themselves?

Did the Giudices fully grasp that any past misdeeds might be more likely to come to light simply because they’d gone from everyday people to high-profile “Bravolebrities,” as Cohen likes to call his stars? “This is one of the big risks of getting on a show that a lot of people don’t understand. You’re under the microscope … in every single way,” said Robert Galinsky, founder of the New York Reality TV School. “So anything you do could be great material for the show, or is potentially something positive or a liability for you in your real life.”

Those who watch “RHONJ” also bear a bit of blame. How many times have we seen the Giudices curse and brawl and say stupid things on camera and thought to ourselves, “How the heck did these crude and clownish people get so rich?” And yet we shake off those nagging questions and keep watching, essentially egging them on to misbehave for our amusement. If we didn’t watch, they wouldn’t remain on the air.

In its fifth season, “RHONJ” remains one of Bravo’s top-rated shows. Cartoon-like as they may seem, the Giudices, who have four young daughters, are real people with real lives — something perhaps even they have lost track of. I wonder if they’ve come to feel they’re in their own little “Truman Show” world, nestled in a protective bubble they think will shield them from the consequences of their actions.

On Sunday night, “RHONJ” fans watched the last of a three-episode arc about a retreat that Teresa and her brother, Joe Gorga, their spouses and some cousins made at a Lake George resort earlier this year in an effort to mend fences. The episode essentially wrapped up a very messy long-running story line with a neat little bow — everyone hugged and agreed that family is more important than the causes behind the feud. Then on Monday came the jolting news that the Giudices had much more troubling issues to resolve. Some of the charges they face carry penalties of up to 30 years in prison and hefty fines. And Joe Giudice, 43, who we learned this week is an Italian citizen, faces deportation if convicted. Joe is also charged with failing to file tax returns for the years 2004 through 2008, a period during which he allegedly earned nearly $1 million.

Galinsky said he could think of only one other example that approached this level of seriousness: first “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch, who served time in prison for tax evasion and tax fraud. “Usually, the misbehaviors are more emotional and more relationship-oriented, between people — between spouses and castmates, family.” By the time it came to light that Teresa and Joe had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, listing nearly $11 million in debt, viewers had already watched a season and a half of Teresa throwing extravagant parties and spending money wildly. (During Season One, she was shown plunking down $120,360 for furniture. She paid cash, she said nonsensically, because she’d heard “there’s a recession going on.”) The 2009 bankruptcy filing brought the prospect of an on-site auction of the Giudices’ belongings, which were even listed and pictured on the website of the court-appointed auction house. Ultimately, the sale was called off, but for Teresa the humiliation stung.

At the federal courthouse Tuesday, when a reporter asked about the fact that Joe could be deported if convicted, Joe’s mother reportedly snapped: “None of your [expletive] business. Worry about yourself.”

Sadly, it is our business. It became so when her daughter-in-law overcame her trepidation and signed that Bravo contract. And now the Giudices are finding out that they can’t have it both ways. Sooner or later, reality and “reality” are bound to collide.

Saddle – Thanks so much for sharing this. It is an excellent dissertation on the malignancy plaguing what is going on with television viewing in today’s society. Scandal, violence, and dysfunction sells and the public can’t get enough of it.

The writer echoes what many of us have said here in the past about what role Bravo plays in the unfolding sagas of the castmembers in all of the RH franchises and its ultimate responsibility in that role.

Russell Armstrong’s death was a tragedy, and frankly, I believe he would be alive today had it not been for his impending exposure to the world about his disasterous financial situation. And how many of these “Bravolebrities”, especially those in the RH franchises, who are potrayed as beng “rich and fabulous” have filed bankruptcy or lost their homes to foreclosure. There is a rumor, and I reiterate it is a rumor, that the real reason Heather Dubrow sold her home is because of financial difficulty.

It is why so many of us here have ranted on about Bravo and its responsibility – not just to its castmembers of all of their programming but to the viewers. Most of us here are too intelligent to be fooled by the garbage Bravo has been trying to feed us.

The problem is exactly what this author states and it has been stated here over and over by so many commenters – while we complain and are disgusted; we continue to watch and, in doing so, give Bravo the ratings and our “permission”, if you will, to continue to ramp up the dysfunction and drama.

So Jeannie, I cannot decide. You all know I have not been watching this season. I watched one episode online (no ratings for Bravo). Do we watch to show our support for Teresa and Joe, or do we NOT watch to show our support of Teresa and Joe?

And, I have not been watching Bravo at all. I stopped watching RHOBH when they did not fire Taylor. I forget every week to watch RHOC (but if Heather sold her house without buying or building another one, I would say that is a definite sign of money trouble). I did watch Top Chef Masters last week, but I have no interest in watching people jump out of planes, I want to see them cook. So, all bets are off with that. Bravo is pretty much dead to me.

I’ve pretty much had it with Bravo and it’s horrid brand of manufactured reality. I started watching RHONJ only because it is filmed locally and I got a kick out of seeing that on tv. The drama part is cookie cutter for any of these Bravo shows. I doesn’t matter if it’s Housewives, Princesses or turnips. Little Miss Cohen took what used to be a legitimate channel for the arts and turned it into a bitchy slap fest of low class trash. Look at any preview for any of the shows. It’s just gutter snipes screething and fighting. It’s a PG rated cage fight. Tre and Joe did nothing more or less than many people have done. How many folks out there ever fudged a bit on a credit card application? Anyone ever left off a few bucks made at a garage sale from “other income” on a tax form? How many people out there reading this got a mortgage in the last 10 years or so that was based on “less than accurate” information? I’m not going play holier than thou with the Guidices. I don’t care what they did or didn’t do. I grew to be fond of the family and felt so bad that they were being treated so poorly by Bravo editors and thier fellow cast members. Now I feel absolutely sick. I’ve never gotten emotionally involved with people I watch on tv. (Although I was super pissed when WNBC fired Sue “What the fuck” Simmons). I feel so bad for Tre – as if she were actually an aquaintence of mine. I really can’t watch much more of this show and this entire experience has soured mr on the reality tv universe. Give me back my mid-90’s “Nick at Nite” with it’s happy, predictable pablum….

        • July 31, 2013 at 3:20 PM

I love your post Saddle River. And I think you are a fine person. I don’t know why I got so attached to this show and hoping Teresa would stop being crapped on. I really felt completely alone, being a Teresa fan, until I found this site. Lots of people have come around to see what despicable people Joey and Melissa are.

When they were casting for RHOM I and alot of people I know got some random e-mail from Bravo inviting women to try out for the show. I believe it was based on zip code or address. Nobody in their right mond responded except Lea Black. I was amazed that she did, but she has always been a bit of a character. Nobody in Beverly Hills would touch that show with a ten foot pole after what happened to Adrienne Maloof. They are having difficulty finding new cast members. People have seen how destructive these shows are. That is, people with brains and good lives who want to keep them that way. Why, so somebody recognizes you in the airport and you can have a pocketbook line? Puh-leeze. Bravo doesn’t even pay well certainly not enough money to ruin your life.

Wow, just Wow. So now Bravo is to be held accountable for people’s stupid decisions? Bravo is a corporation whose very definition is to make money any way it can. Bravo is responsible for Russell Armstong’s suicide? Nah, Russell Armstrong’s famewhore wife is responsible for his suicide. People need to accept ownership for their own stupidity. A corporation can not hold it’s employees hands. They, like most corporations do their best to vet out potential “problem” employees, but just as McDonald’s can’t be held responsible when someone burns themselves on hot coffee, Bravo can not be held responsible when they hire someone stupid, which 10 times out of 10 they do.

Actually, I don’t understand that “famous” mentality. No, I would not sell out my family. I don’t even like having my picture taken. I did not have a baby or bridal shower because even the THOUGHT of being the center of attention terrifies and mortifies me. I have amazing self-esteem based on who I am and my own personal success, I do not need the approval of strangers for that. RIch, yes, I would love it. That’s why I take every opportunity to advance my education and career and my husband and I are extremely ambitious and successful in our respective careers. • July 31, 2013 at 3:23 PM

And they know that they can’t be held responsible, so they continue to sink to new lows year after year. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t feel morally responsible. But they don’t. People can talk themselves into all sorts of things. Andy knows he is a horrible person. He just doesn’t care.

In my honest opinion, the driving force behind all of this was the ex-partner and Monica Chase. The goverment does not care where it gets it information from but the government gets alot of information or alot of ‘snitches’. The ex-partner was / is protecting his own A * * .

One or both of them will spend time in jail. The burden of proof is still with the government and would be surprised if a deal was not meet unless the Guidices feel that they can get off which in my opinon would be silly. They now have to put on their ‘big girl panties’ and do whatever they can to protect those children that they brought into this world. Admit that you screwed up and take your lumbs.

There was something up when they withdrew the bankruptcy. I hope that they have been trying honestly to pay back the debts that they had created, that in itself will go along way.

The time to be honest is now. Especially for those 4 little girls.

And do not get me wrong, Tre is my favorite of NJ group. I do not think that the others had anything to do it with but I do think that they are all running scared.

    • Jeannie5233
      July 31, 2013 at 10:54 AM

I agree with this – the filing of the bankruptcy and the case with the ex-business partner is what caused the red flags along with Monica Chacon’s help. But I am also beginning to believe there is credence to the possibility Teresa’s fellow castmembers were questioned extensively and told what they knew, in return for what, if anythng, remains to be seen. I am a cynic usually but in retrospect, alot of what we saw as viewers last year didn’t make sense. With all of these bits and pieces comng to light in the last few days, it is starting to make sense – they possibly were trying to get Teresa to talk, on camera so there would be concrete evidence to back up what they were saying and get information to use against her.

Remember Caroline’s face at the Reunion when Joe said he wasn’t concerned about going to jail – she looked incredulous. These people knew something was going on – the questionsnow would be how and why. I have much food for thought.

I now wonder if the federal investigation is what has caused the animosity between the Guidices and the other RHONJ families? They were all questioned, something that probably concerned them with all of their own shady dealings. TB has stated he has hated Joe for years; could that relate back to some of these issues?

There seemed to be more to the problems between everyone, something more than a passage in a cookbook. Could this be it?

Monica Chacon is really relishing in the Giudice case and is running her mouth off again this morning at ROL making claims Joe Giudice is responsible for vandalization of his ex-business partner’s, hers, and her husband’s offices:

Slingshots & Broken Windows: ‘RHONJ’ Star Joe Giudice Used ‘Gang’ Tactics To Intimidate Creditor, Claims Lawyer
    Posted on Jul 31, 2013 @ 3:17AM | By Melissa Cronin

Anyone who’s seen an episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey knows that Joe Giudice is not exactly a man of great restraint.

He’s physically brawled with his brother-in-law twice and called his wife Teresa a “c**t” on camera.

Now, a source tells RadarOnline.com that such behavior is just the tip of the iceberg.

Chacon and her husband, attorney William Carlo Saracino, have “dealt with heavy criminals and we’d never had to deal with that sort of nonsense before. You see a lot of different types of people when you’re a lawyer, but these two … I don’t know if they’re just that dumb, or if they’re crazy smart.”

“They just don’t care!” Chacon says. “They do what they want, and they say what they want, and figure that someday they’ll deal with the implications.”

Indeed, that day has come at last. Joe and Teresa are currently out on $500,000 bail each after being indicted with 39 counts of financial fraud.

Yes she is. If I remember correctly (and with the Lyme’ crazy maybe not) at the time she was on the show and all the articles about she and Teresa fighting were published, I thought it is was friggin’ obvious she was feeding Jac (and possibly TSIL) info and risking her career because she wanted to be on a damn reality show. I remember being certain she would be disbarred just from the little camera time she got. I hope Teresa documented all of that. I doubt it she did, cuz’ she has a life, unlike Chacon apparently.

I’m not saying Juicy and Teresa shouldn’t suffer the consequences of their actions IF the case is proven. But the joyous, rub their faces in it attitude of Monica, Kim G and you know Jac, Chris and the Whorgas and the rest are celebrating , is just vile to me. They are all involved in worse acts so if they thought they could turn on Teresa and Juicy as a group, which they clearly did, it didn’t work. What a bunch of scumbags. They thought they would convince the viewers how terrible Teresa was and that we would turn on her and her family and side with them, ha! They just made themselves look worse, imo.

I agree. Everyone ganging up on one person did not make me think Teresa was terrible. None of their explainations for their rage made any sense. I don’t think they needed their arm twisted behind their back to betray her. We all reap what we sow. Children grow up and remember. How many people in the end, lose what they tried to save in this way?

I would have more reason to believe that Joe did this if it had been the day he had been served with papers, not the day they filed in court. In civil matters, 99% of the defendants don’t know that an action has been filed against them until they have been served. It was likely just basic vandalism.

The public has spent a lot of time with Juicy, and we have never seen him violent (We have seen him put a midget in a headlock when being attacked….but thats it).

I don’t get the sense Juicy is vindictive and vengeful. Remember JUICY was the one who wanted to forgive the Laurita’s and build friendship back….

I find it hard to believe he will “blow out windows with a slingshot full of marbles” which BTW, is very silly thing to do. Marbles? Slingshot? Is this NJ or the Lost Boys of Neverland….

I believe the whole cast except for Teresa and Joe knew that this woman Monica along with Kim granatell and by Kim’s own admission Jacqueline all knew Monica had been gathering information to being Teresa down. I also believe that Melissa & Joey probably gave them information as well. Season 4 was the peak of their hatred as a whole cast towards Teresa. They were all acting shady and discussing nothing but her legal issues on camera after Teresa repeatedly asking her own blood not too. Which is what she kept repeating over and over but what falling on deaf ears. If anyone were to go back and watch season 4 which would have had to be filmed almost 3 years ago a lot of that would probably be more clear now. It’s easy to see everyone of them except Kim g hasn’t even said a word publicly to support her. I don’t trust any of them and if I was Teresa I would cut ties with all of them including Melissa and Joe. All shady rats.

TMZ has an article about Danielle paying up $35,000 during her 2012 bankruptcy. It seems to me that the government, the taxpayers, and everyone involved would benefit from allowing the Giudices to just pay back the money with interest. Seize whatever property need be to satisfy what they owe. No one benefits from having Teresa locked up. Not the government, the taxpayer, her family, or even Bravo. She can’t make $ that way. Bravo can give her a spin-off show, she can write another book, etc. Whatever. We will all watch and support her. Whether people like Teresa or not, we watch her. She and her family entertain us. She has also done a lot of good through her charity work. As I have stated earlier, she has brought Nephcure to the public eye. As a mom of a kid with kidney disease, I WON’T forget that. And she didn’t ditch the charity as soon as she got off Celebrity Apprentice. She was continuing to raise $ for them through appearances, even this past weekend. She has a celebrity personality and her children were born to shine. We will watch to see how she pulls herself up by her bootstraps, AGAIN!

I have said this before….But to me, this exposure would really be an opportunity for Tre if she plays her hand right. I know, I know, right now its negative exposure….But her name is getting out to a HUGE audience. She has a large and loyal fan following (holla!) who want her happy and successful.

These next few months need to be played very carefully by Tre, Bravo and the PR team. But she CAN to turn this “lemon” into lemonade….and one thing we do know, is that Tre has a history of doing exactly that. Haters gonna hat, but she just loves, loves, loves!

While Monica Chacon may have been “doing her job”, her methods, demeanor, and behavior speak volumes to her values, ethics, and lack of professionalism. Yes, as an attorney, you put your all in putting together a case, but it is clear this woman has made this personal. Not only has she made it personal, she is now speaking with rag tabloids and voicing how she is gloating in the aftermath. Regardless who the subject of an investigation is, an attorney with any kind of moral character would not speak out in such a manner. She is exactly what gives the legal profession a black eye.

Monica Chacon is right up there with all the others wanting to cash in on the connection to RHONJ looking for her 15 minutes – another famewhore.

    • July 31, 2013 at 10:20 AM

That’s exactly how I meant to word my comment somewhere up above. Didn’t quite come out that way though, lol.

    • July 31, 2013 at 10:26 AM

Jeannie, I agree with you, for her it is a personal vendetta, wrong in the legal profession. I do believe Jac fed information to Kim G during her fits of boozing and blaming, she is very irrational. Not sure if Meho and Jogo are involved, maybe planted a seed here and there, but I will leave my judgment of them until more comes out. I am in the tax profession so I have seen numerous cases of mortgage fraud and unprepared taxes, maybe this is why I am not so harsh on the Guidices. I also would like to know if they obtained the mortgages with no intention of ever paying them back or if, like many of my clients, felt they could sell the properties and pay back the loans while making a profit.

      • July 31, 2013 at 10:45 AM

It would be my opinion that they figured they would sell the properties with a profit and pay the loans back. That’s how we got started in the rental business…buying a property at a low cost, fixing it up and flipping it for a nice profit which went right back into the first rental we purchased (after paying the original loan off).

Joe Giudice admitted that he not only forged the partners signature, but also the notary and notary seal, this is public record.

Monica Chacon did not tip off the feds, the feds were tipped off when the trustee in the Giudice bankruptcy case accused them of fraud in the filing, and when Joe was sued by the business partner for fraud and found liable by the court.

    • Jeannie5233
      July 31, 2013 at 10:43 AM

peace – please read the article again. She made sure infomation was put in the Feds hands and has continued to work with them over a four year period. So, she not only was part of tipping off the feds, she continued to work closely with them – these are her words out of her mouth:

“The work we put in to make sure the judge recognized they were committing fraud ultimately resulted in them withdrawing their petition [and tipping off the feds],” she explains. “It’s been a long road.”

In fact, Chacon says, she’s been aiding federal investigators in their work to nab the Giudices for years. “Our office has had calls from some federal agencies over the past four years,” she reveals. “You don’t think it’s gonna come to anything and then finally [it happens].”

      • peace
        July 31, 2013 at 11:08 AM

There is no evidence that Monica Chacon put the evidence in the hands of anyone, the Bankruptcy court is a federal court and the trustee was the one who made the initial claims of fraud. Monica Chacon cooperated with the investigation and handed over what she had from the prosecution of her case, but it’s just not true that she was the one who initiated anything.

The work she is talking about is prosecuting the case against Joe Giudce for forging the name of Joseph Mastrople, which Joe Giudice admitted to doing. Not “tipping off the feds” – if you notice, that was added by someone else, not something Chacon stated.

Thanks for the public record info on the case with Mastropole – I updated the article to reflect that Juicy was found liable in court (the judgment for $255,000 is still an open record – at least it was the last time a FW reader checked for me – so Juicy hasn’t paid him what the court says he owes). My article quotes the RadarOnline interview with Monica, where she says she’s been working with the feds for four years to nab the Giudices – she didn’t claim that she tipped them off (those words come from RadarOnline).

After reading Fame’s article. I support Joe & Teresa Guidice 100%. What Kim G. Chris & Jacqueline Laurita, Al & Caroline Manzo, Joe & Melissa Gorga, and Rich & Kathy Walkie have done is something I can not even comprehend. They have all implicated themselves through the show and on twitter and in interviews to bring Teresa down. What these people have done is far worse than what the Guidices have done. How can you hate a family to this degree. It played out on national tv. I knew jealously was vicious but I had no idea this kind of jealously existed.

Fame this article is the best so far and you state facts that can not be disputed.

Long time lurker, first time poster… Love this site. I feel really badly for the Guidice’s and I also feel really weird about that since I don’t personally know them…anyway….

    T just retweeted this

@Woodbridgida2: By her own admissions, this is a witch hunt against the Giudices by Monica Chacon. I hope the judge sees that. @Teresa_Giudice

As much as I love Teresa, I don’t think that was a smart move. Ugh:(

    Interesting article on Fox:

    http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/07/31/teresa-giudice-case-could-get-messy-for-bravo-housewives-franchise/

This is just a portion of it, more at link.

“Teresa Giudice and husband Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice may not be the only ones losing sleep over their latest trouble with the law: their costars on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” and the network itself could get wrapped up in their legal woes.

Because Bravo is an entertainment network — and not a news agency — it likely does not maintain any First Amendment privileges, meaning execs and personalities from the network may be called to court, New Jersey-based attorney Darren Del Sardo told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column.

“Employees filming for Bravo can certainly be called as witnesses to establish that the Giudices were perhaps making large purchases in cash during the time of the bankruptcy,” he explained. “The network could also be called as a witness to support an increase of anticipated income paid by Bravo to Teresa that was not disclosed in her bankruptcy filing. In addition, they could be asked questions regarding the Giudices’ business operations that Bravo followed at the time of the filing.”

The reality television personalities have been charged in a 39-count indictment with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud. They were released on Tuesday on $500,000 bond each. They are set to make a plea on August 14.

According to another legal expert, who wished to remain anonymous due to associations with the network, it’s a big problem that Bravo filmed the Giudices talking to their bankruptcy attorney last year.

“There is a chance that there is raw footage, which didn’t make the air that could be incriminating. Federal investigators will likely want all of what was shot to see what Bravo and others involved in the production knew, and how much did they know. The question of co-conspiracy, even unintentionally, could be raised,” the source said. “And filing for Chapter 7 is no light issue. It’s odd that they were able to continue living in that opulent mansion and living such a lavish lifestyle when they were in that kind of financial ruin. Who was paying for it? Were their show payments going directly to them or their trustee? Their bail was set particularly high which is unusual, and suggests that there is much more to come.”

      July 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Love it!!! Finally, Bravo just may have some accountability after all!!

      • July 31, 2013 at 11:17 AM

ok… gov is stating that Teresa is an actress on RHONJ – it’s in indictment
so for me it means she acts, she plays role of a rich Italian ( for exaple) = does not necessarily speak real stuff on the show
so how can they use it as a proof – this is too weak

second thing – what about breach of professional secrecy – what’s between her lawyer and her is between her lawyer and her – ahouldn’t they have to get the permission to take these tapes? is it legal to use it ?

          July 31, 2013 at 12:48 PM

The confidentiality between Attorney and Client was breached by the Bravo crew being present and filming. The Guidice’s Attorney should be brought up on ethical violations for discussing the case on camera which made such discussions discoverable by prosecution.

No – they are not the same thing. However, I do not feel Ms. Chacon, in the aftermath of the indictment being handed down, is acting very compassionate towards minor children who may be without a home. I realize that is through no fault of Ms. Chacon, but I find it in very poor taste and unprofessional to publicly take pleasure in this and continue to talk to rag tabloids. In miy eyes it diminishes her character.

I think Jacqueline is sending a message to Teresa by tweeting that song (I watched the video, it’s a beautiful song and appropriate for the Giudice’s situation). It shows she is making an effort to side with Teresa, but there is guilt on her part, for sure. She probably was in collusion with Kim G at some point – and Kim G certainly wants everybody to know that by tagging Jacqueline in her hate tweets – I doubt Jacqueline likes that Kim G is tagging her – and there is nothing she can do to stop her (Kim G is crazy vengeful! – remember what she did to Danielle?)

As much as we have all been on Jacs, she has tweeted nothing at all since July 29th like the rest of them except yesterday when she tweeted the Rascal Flatts’ song “Stand”. She did not tag Teresa in the tweet or send it directly to her but I do believe there is a gag order on them all by Bravo to not communicate publicly with each other. You all know what I think of this woman, but I do believe this is a message for Teresa – and if it is, I don’t care what her motives may be, it is a touching show of support. If indeed it is that, you have to give credit where credit is due.

I am not for conspiracy theories, but after reading all this it has become clear why Jac was so adamant to get Tre to admit financial problems on camera. She was obviously trying to get Tre to indict herself. When Tre wouldn’t Jac freaked out and tried to get Teresa off the show. These people are all so sick. When you see someone who is not educated with a multi-million dollar house and paying cash all over town, it’s pretty obvious that it is all fake. Dina’s husband was prob the smartest to keep his shady dealings off camera.

        July 31, 2013 at 7:47 PM

You can for me Gessie! I commented yesterday that I just kept remembering all that transpired in Season 4 and how they all turned on Teresa for lame reasons that made no sense. They kept bringing up her legal and financial troubles and made all their nasty comments, including them continuing with their lifestyle (made by the Lauritas, Caroline Manzo, and the Whorgas). I have no doubt that even if the Feds didn’t speak to these people, that they sure used all their comments on the show. The Lauritas made the most damaging comments, and I think it was intentional and relevant to this latest news.

I don’t care if Whacko feels guilty or not, she should, but I don’t care. Everything she said and did last season, and so far this season have been deliberate and vindictive. I would like to know if any of the cast were contacted in the investigation, did any of them notify the Giudices or warn them?? None of us could figure out why the sudden anger and disdain for the Giudices last season and all the nasty comments, and now it seems that the puzzle pieces are falling into place. The Giudices had to be aware of some of this through their lawyers, since filing and withdrawing their bankruptcy, so they had so much to deal with, more than we ever knew and then the whole cast turning on them and piling on. Can you imagine the amount of stress of all of that combined, the Giudices have been under? Yet, Teresa still tried to work things out, and keep a good attitude (if only for her children). So the impact of the everyone’s betrayal, especially Jacqueline’s, had to be overwhelming and hence the real emotional scene of Teresa at the prospect of speaking to and making up with Jacqueline. We just didn’t know the extent of the hurt, until Monday when even more puzzle pieces came into play. I believe nothing that any of the cast say about being in a good place, is genuine. Perhaps, all of this drove the story line of making up this season: because we were going to find out what true low lives her friends and family were, especially after this news became public. Once this news became public and us viewers recalled last season, we would put things together about the cast and how devious and despicable their behavior truly was. So it was decided that some redemption and forgiveness was in order, so that they were “in a good place” when all of this legal trouble was exposed. Then perhaps the viewers and Teresa’s fans, wouldn’t realize what an impact all the nastiness had on the Giudices, and they would not appear to have wanted to destroy Teresa and Joe Giudice, especially out of jealousy. I thought I couldn’t think less of the cast and their behavior, but I do now. What they did last season was despicable, but we now know how detrimental it was in light of the recent news, and I think they knew that and that’s why they did it. Truly despicable.

    July 31, 2013 at 11:55 AM

Honestly, Tre & Joe need only come here to find excuses and people to blame other than take responsibility for what they’ve done themselves. In the end, had they not done these things, no one could’ve “gotten” them. Teresa put her named to fraudulent documents, many of them. She knew who she did or didn’t work for. She knew how much Bravo was paying her for Season Two. Joe didn’t file taxes. Listen the Feds wouldn’t just come with this to throw and see what sticks. They’ve been investigating since 2001 and the whole bankruptcy thing just fueled the fire. While the financial/housing system was definitely broken and open to be gamed back then, they definitely took advantage and gamed the heck out of it above and beyond at the expense of others. Others got hurt in this….especially their children. I don’t understand why people are still so quick to defend them. The only truly innocents here are the children, period.

I don’t see the Manzo or Laurita families sweating. I’d imagine they are too smart to get caught in this type scheme. The Brownstone won’t be caught up in any fraudulent tax business, period. Chris is definitely too smart to let Jacq be involved in any business stuff, he knows she’s whakadoo. If you people cannot see the difference between the thug Joe is and how Chris and Albert are, I just don’t know what else to say here. I can see Joe breaking out windows with rocks and such…but I don’t see people like Chris & Albert participating in such antics which says a great deal about how Joe got them in their current situation and Tre followed him there.

Hoping and wishing it isn’t true and blaming others won’t make it go away. It’s real and serious and, yes, they did it to themselves.

Have you read this site? Are you aware that there are class action suits against the Brownstone? Have you read any of the charges against Chris and Jac? Jac was involved in the business paperwork, VERY much so. Have you read the articles about Tiny Manzo?

I do not think anyone is actually blaming others, we are just looking at the trail. And, it is a very interesting trail indeed.

        July 31, 2013 at 12:29 PM

Class action suits aren’t tax suits. Two different evils. Yes, I’m fully aware of who Al “Tiny” Manzo was besides being the first Manzo who bought the Brownstone. He was a hit man for the mob who overstepped and ended up in the trunk of a car shot 4x with his penis in his mouth, I’m fully aware. Does this make Albert or Tommy “mobbed up”, uh, I’m not feeling it. Do meetings happen there of some sort or another. Probably so. But because there are lawsuits against a very successful business doesn’t mean it’s “mobbed up”. And just because Tiny was doesn’t mean Albert & Tommy are.

It appears that some who have stumbled on this thread (but post their comments everywhere else) refuse to believe the manzos and the brownstone are involved in corruption. You make no sense. On one hand you are saying that The Giudices are just dumb criminals and on the other hand admitting that The Laurita’s and The Manzo’s are just smarter, classier criminals! How do you know what the Laurita’s and the Manzo’s have done? Chris Laurita stole from a breast cancer charity. I’d say that’s disgusting. One of the lowest thing a man could do. You can see Joe breaking out windows…BUT did you see him breaking out windows. I can see Albert hiring someone to break out someone’s windows. There…hows that!!!! So why don’t you go back under the rock from which you came from because you don’t have any idea wtf you’re talking about. SHOO!

Perhaps “Teresa put her named to fraudulent documents” the same way Joe Mastropole executed a lien release, i.e., unknown to them and via Joe Giudice.

And she had a bankruptcy lawyer — who appeared on camera! The law requires bankruptcy attorneys to conduct a reasonable investigation into the accuracy of their client’s financial information and most bankruptcy attorneys subscribe to services that provide credit reports, tax transcripts, lien search and ownership reports, and home appraisals among other things for this very purpose. Seriously, how could Tre have known that the paperwork her attorney filed with the court (which could have been in the range of 50 pages, full of tables and small print) were inaccurate? If you use a tax preparer to prepare your tax return, do you know that every financial transaction that needs to be reported has been and that it’s been reported accurately?

I don’t think people are so quick to defend them as they are willing to wait to hear both sides before forming a conclusion. It’s early days and Tre hasn’t even had an opportunity to offer any kind of defense to the accusations leveled against her. Let’s at least give her that!

    My $.02-

-Teresa did not concoct any of the forged documents, that would have been her husband. I don’t think Teresa knows what a W-2 is.
-Monica had nothing to do with anything, except perhaps an extremely peripheral role in the beginning. She is showboating for her practice.
-Anyone (outside of the cast) that wants Teresa’s children to be without both of their parents, is way too consumed with this reality show. You shouldn’t be so worked up that you would wish that on a stranger’s family.
-Anyone within the cast that is happy about this is damaging their marriage: Chris Laurita is Joe’s friend and will not take kindly to Jacko revelling in this; Al does not want he or Caroline to intervene for sure, Joe Gorga does not want to see his sister in jail, no matter how much Melissa does. I find it a huge stretch to believe he is THAT consumed with hate for Teresa on behalf of his wife, and he will be potentially left to support his devastated mother. I don’t think Kathy or Rosie want Teresa in jail at the expense of the children, either. I simply believe the show diminishes the real life bonds these families have and it’s a stretch to believe her cousins want Teresa in jail.
-Kim G is the lowest form of famewhoring garbage.

Monica states that people outside New Jersey must not understand….dismissive. You’d have to be an idiot to miss what is happening here. Joe has done Teresa dirty, but Monica behaves as if Teresa is Lady MacBeth.
All Bravo footage does is highlite the fact that Teresa is not methodical enough to have plotted anything-Brown chicka bow wow, anyone?

I don’t know how loyal Joe Gorga is. Remember the scene at the gym where he says to Teresa, “Go cook some books”. Innocuous at first but telling in context.

          July 31, 2013 at 10:00 PM

I do remember this, as well as some of Kathy’s snideness…I guess what I am trying to relay is that Bravo plays up the family nastiness, to some extent. But this is as close to a deathbed gathering as you can get without being on your deathbed-extremely grave and serious, that is-so I tend to think the family would rally in spite of the ugliness we see during the show. If Joe does not rally around Teresa, I chalk it up to ignorance of the impact this is going to have on his entire family, his parents, his nieces. If Kathy does not rally, she is threefold as spiteful as Bravo could ever relay. Rosie shows zero ingrained animosity toward the Giudices.
Melissa will love this, until she realizes how it will consume her husband if his sister goes to PRISON (not jail). Then, not so much, but she’ll blame Teresa (for Juicy’s antics).

Remember when Joe Go threw Kim G out of his home, Melissa kept apologizing an didn’t want to do it. I knew then that MeHo and Kim G were friends because shortly after that Melissa’s sister husband insulted Joe. I always felt that Melissa knew that Kim G was going to bring that lady to the party to embarrass Teresa that’s why Kathy and her sisters embraced her when she walked in

You guys when I found out about this, I felt extremely sad. Its a sad day when people with kids go to jail and miss out on their kid’s life. I’m an avid Tre supporter but I feel like when you break the law, no matter who you are, you should pay the price. I understand that she probably trusted Juicy (my crush) way too much and did not read anything she was signing but at the same time I think that is a dumb move that many of us women make. Look at Lynn from OC, her family was bankrupt and she did not know because her husband hid it from her and she was too naive. ALWAYS ALWAYS read what you are signing, I cannot stress this enough! It doesn’t matter if your husband is asking you to sign it, your mom, your sister/brother or the random person at the store that you never met in your life. As much as I want to believe in our court system, I -like many- know that its a joke! I mean, though Tre’s and Juicys charges are every serious, they are getting more time than a murderer, kidnapper and rapist would get. From what I always understood -maybe I am wrong if so please correct me!- they could not charge you with the taxes if they are older than 7 years, I thought you are supposed to keep the 7 years worth of tax info and then start over. I mean they might use it as evidence, but how can they charge them from something from 2001 in 2013?!?! I am by no means a lawyer, but they cannot say that they have “been hunting them down” since, they had a very public bankruptcy case, why did none of this come up in court then? I don’t think much will hold and a lot of the charges on T will drop and she will have just a couple of charges which she might have to do a couple of months… maybe..Joe on the other hand, I think that he will get some hard time, these are some very serious crimes, I think he could get anywhere from 5-10 years. I have no lawyer friends, so anyone correct me if I am wrong. I don’t think that the Lauritas, Manzos, Gorgas and Wakiles have any reason to be happy right now because I know for a fact that after this Giudice trial is over they are heading over to them, especially the Lauritas, their crimes are just as bad!

At the end of the day, I think that Bravo will get a spin off from this. The one we’ve been hearing about. Tre’s life with Joe in jail, which Tre might have to do because they might go for most of their assets and income. I’m glad everyone is keeping quiet and not saying anything but I still think that someone from the “inside” might have given Chacon a little info that she might not have found on her own. Smells fishy to me, and it isn’t Kathy!

I know someone who committed fraud over 1,000 dollars. He went to jail for a year. It was a low-security prison. Joe Guidice is definitely going to jail for awhile. Tre may not due to sympathy because she has children. However, Joe is going to miss out quite a lot on his kid’s lives. That’s what you get for living high on the hog with other people’s money.

Coppertop – many of us here have stated that if they did the crime and are found guilty, then they do the time. I learned along time ago – to believe half of what you read or hear. If that story is true, then shame on Joe Giudice.

The others? I believe the reasoning behind the “blaming” is because most of the castmates of this franchise, in one way or another, allegedly have broken laws as well, yet project themselves as fine upstanding citizens. There are many questions that came to light well before Monday’s indictment that never were answered satisfactorily as to why the castmates behaved and acted the way they did with the Giudices, giving lame excuses like a snarky remark in a cookbook would cause such an uproar as just one example. And now we are all being led to believe by producers that everything is wondeful between them all wrapped up wth a pretty ribbon. It doesn’t sit right.

Yes, the Giudices have gotten “caught” – but there is a lot more than meets the eye here.

Real Housewife Star Looking to Be Crowned Mrs NJ

    Celebritymagnet, Yahoo! Contributor Network
    Apr 13, 2011

The woman who instigated some of the cat fights on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, will be working on her catWALK in the upcoming 2011 Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant. Kim Granatell, known as Kim G on Bravo’s hit reality show, is as Jersey as they get, but now she will be working on making that title official with a tiara and a sash.

“She has been working on her catwalk and getting tan in preparation for the event,” said Kim G’s close friend N.J.’s Celebrity Magnet Tom Murro. If someone is going to be representing New Jersey a tan is the first thing on the checklist, and she is already well aware.

Originally, Granatell and Murro were slated as judges for the 2011 Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant. There were restrictions set on them about speaking to the female contestants. However, no one said anything about a photo. After a picture recently surfaced of them with some of the contestants , the organizers of the event immediately contacted them asking them to step down as judges. They explained to Granatell and Murro that this now renders them biased.

Although they could not be judges, they wound up getting a nice promotion. Granatell was asked to be in the show as a contestant, and Murro has been asked to emcee the event. Perhaps they should have taken that picture a lot sooner!

Oh, we should add that Granatell’s maiden name is Jersey, I think being born miss Jersey… should be taken into account during the judging process.

So who will be next? perhaps Teresa Giudice or Caroline Manzo?

The pageant will be held 7pm on May 21 at the Pollak Theater on the campus of Monmouth University. So who will be next?

Some background info on the Giudice’s home loans based on property records at http://mcclerkweb.co.morris.nj.us/or_wb1/or_sch_1.asp:

The Guidices purchased their mansion in December 2001 for $530,000. It appears that the Giudices refinanced their mansion on September 12, 2008, consolidating their 15-year first mortgage ($379,500 on December 14, 2001), second mortgage ($210,000 on May 21, 2003), and home equity lines of credit ($250,000 on December 8, 2006 and $170,000 on February 5, 2007) totaling $1 million, and creating a valid first lien of $1.7 million at 7.25%.

The Giudices purchased their mansion before the real estate bubble, and it needed to be rehabed, which is why the price was only $530,000. Remember that Teresa told her brother Joe that the reason he finished his mansion first was because the Gorgas had a construction loan – apparently the Giudices were slowly renovating their mansion over the years, but once they were cast on RHONJ, they got loans to finish it sooner. Teresa wasn’t living in it when they first started taping season 1 – it was still be renovated.

I know in Florida they can’t take your house. However, she may not be able to afford the taxes or costs of maintaining said house.

    • July 31, 2013 at 1:51 PM

Fame – I did not go back to read the indictment again, but it appears the mortgage fraud was all on their home that they still live in and are paying. Now it is illegal to lie on loan applications, but as I stated in another thread, this was rampant during the housing and lending boom.I had a client in NJ (an 80 year old) whose son decided to mortgage her house to the tune of over $900,000. She signed the papers that stated her income from social security was over $16,000 per month. Some of the blame needs put on the underwiters, NO ONE gets that much in social security income. Poor lady lost the house .

  87. Reality Check
    July 31, 2013 at 1:32 PM

Okay, so the facts seem to be that Joe & Tre were doing some bad things long before they got on Bravo.

    – Monica gets involved because of her client;
    – Kim G helps the lawyer because she’s upset with Tre,
    – The Feds begin to sniff around because of the local level legal stuff and accusations from the lawyer
    – Feds see all the cash Tre & Joe used/handed out season 1
    – The entire cast comes under suspicion because of their relationship with Tre & Joe
    – Cast gets upset because they’re now being investigated
    – Tre already has issues with Melissa because she married her brother
    – Bravo’s producers think they can use the madness for ratings
    – The Feds put pressure on everyone (cast & producers) i.e., guilt by association
    – Everybody starts scrambling to get out of the way of the train they see coming
    – Tre, not the brightest bulb to begin with, in total denial starts attacking everybody,
    – Joe (Tre’s hubby) acts out with affairs and disrespecting Tre cause he blames her (getting on the show, spending cash in front of the cameras)
    – Cast and Bravo trying to clear themselves, move attention away from themselves and pissed that Tre doesn’t get she’s jeopardizing more than herself either get heat on them from Feds to aid investigation or in an effort to save themselves throw Tre under the bus by trying to get her on camera admitting to getting paid for the mags.
Everybody’s (Bravo & Cast) knows an indictment is coming, but definitely not a specific date, which is why they’re on vacation and going about their business when all comes down on Monday. So at the end of the day, this all begins and ends with Tre & Joe. You can blame the rest of them including Bravo for what they did after they found out – but the truth is none of them would have been in this situation if it hadn’t been for Joe & Teresa’s actions. None of them had perfect lives or perfect finances but they also didn’t do anything that caused other cast members to be investigated either. None of them wanted to work with Teresa after last season, they were all forced back and Bravo who definitely ain’t innocent tried to at least resolve the personal issues. Teresa & Joe knew that the cast/Bravo were all being investigated because of what they had done. Teresa & Joe didn’t care and that’s what made the rest of the cast crazy especially Jacqueline who was the closest to her besides Dina before her family came on the show. All of them reached out to try to help Teresa off camera and she pushed back… denial, refusing to face stuff, doesn’t matter. Her parents can’t raised those girls and how can Joe & Melissa raise them after the girls have been poisoned against them? So shame on anybody who isn’t saddened by all of this – Gia, Teresa & Joe’s oldest is definitely reading this stuff – that’s not good, it’s heartbreaking. May God have mercy on all.

The image says “do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble do not let your heart rejoice”. It is from proverbs 24:17

She also tweeted a photo that says “when something bad happens you have three choices…you can let it define you, you can let it destroy you. Or you can let it strengthen you”

I’m not fan of Jac, but it seems she has tried to do the right thing here?😳

She’s desperately trying to rehab her own image, Elena. We know she reads the blogs so we know she knows that people saw Kim G’s horrible tweets yesterday and recognized that she was tagged on them. She could have tweeted Kim G yesterday but she ignored them until 43 minutes ago and that speaks volumes to me.

She is the definition of stupid. I’ll give it hours before Kim G says something about Jack Daniels being in on this also. She’s trying to play the angel. If you haven’t seen her in 2 years there would be no way she would tag you in those tweets. This girl really is stupid.

What I would really love to know is how many of the women on here would be so supportive of Teresa’s actions if they were married to her brother and she treated them the way she’s treated Melissa? How many of you would be her best friend if your family was being investigated because of your association with her & “Juicy”? How many of you are sending money to help her & Joe out of this financial mess? Cause that’s what they really need right now… anybody starting a fundraiser… buying up her wines, food, cookbooks…. she’s got over 500,000 fb fans – 1,000 dollars each would go a long way to at least taking care of the financial part of the problem

U.S. Attorney’s Office drops case against Parsippany developer accused of bribery

mosberg.JPGStar-Ledger file photoEdward Mosberg, 86, of Union, was indicted in 2008 and faced charges of bribery, mail fraud and conspiracy.

PARSIPPANY — The U.S. Attorney’s Office has dropped its case against Edward Mosberg, a prominent developer who was accused of bribing a Parsippany planning board attorney.

Mosberg, 86, of Union, was indicted in 2008 and faced charges of bribery, mail fraud and conspiracy. He was accused of providing discounts on homes he sold to former Parsippany planning board attorney John Montefusco Sr. and Montefusco’s family in exchange for favors that aided Mosberg’s projects. The alleged arrangement lasted from 1987 to 2007, officials said.

But a 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling narrowed the scope of the honest-services component of the federal mail-fraud statute, which in turn weakened the state’s case against Mosberg.

The court held the law can be used only in schemes involving bribes or kickbacks and not simply to prosecute “undisclosed self-dealing” by a public official whose acts further his own hidden interests. That required the U.S. attorney to reassess several cases, including that of Mosberg, according to Rebekah Carmichael, spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.

“Given U.S. Supreme Court and Third Circuit Court of Appeals decisions affecting the case since the initial indictment, the defendant’s age, the likely length of pretrial proceedings and the likely sentencing outcome should the government prevail at trial, we determined the interests of justice are best served by dismissal,” she said.

Montefusco, 71, pleaded guilty in federal court in 2008 to accepting $26,000 in the case

    NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM

Share on Facebook! Corruption and New Jersey go together like Hollywood and overpriced crap. The Christie re-election campaign raced to scrub the address for a volunteer center in Parsippany after the Daily Record revealed the building belonged to a owner who Christie once charged with bribery.

The three-story office building was apparently associated with a developer who Christie once charged with bribery during his time as US Attorney General. In Sept 2008, then-U.S. Attorney Christie announced the indictment of developer Edward Mosberg for allegedly bribing Parsippany Planning Board Attorney, John Montefusco Sr. The indictment charged Mosberg with one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, six counts of mail fraud and four counts of bribery. A Christie campaign spokesperson naturally refused to comment other than to say that 101 Gibraltar Drive was not one of the campaign’s offices. Further, that the reference to it would be removed from the campaign site. He said the office was in fact an office of the Republican National Committee and referred inquiries to them.

In what could be a classic issue of complicitous denial, a RNC spokesperson said on Monday that the office at some point “was under consideration” but that “we have not signed a lease for that location and we are not planning on leasing that location.” Both

the Christie and RNC spokespeople declined to comment on why the specific office turned up as a volunteer

    • July 31, 2013 at 4:56 PM

Christie’s campaign would scout this out, not the RNC – they leave finding field offices/volunteer headquarters to local politicians. Even for National elections and certainly not for a gubernatorial campaign. They just cut the check…

I wouldn’t doubt Christie’s blood-lust for the Manzo’s – and lust for info against – lead to the Giudice’s indictment.

I don’t trust that RHINO Christie as far as I can throw him, he is too consumed with himself and he is a typical starf**cker.

Apologies Fame and readers but, if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

You know I’ve been reading everything I can on this and I feel personally hurt by what these people have done to this family. Yes I believe that it happen. Yes I believe that someone will have to pay. Tre I don’t believe understood any of this. And to be perfectly honest with you when I was married for 26 years if my husband had come to me and told me to sign something that was going to help us out financially I would have trusted and signed it. No questions asked.
How would I have felt if it all several years later came out it was wrong and that everyone I trusted and loved with the exception of my parents were involved with and gave information about this in order to make my husband and myself go to prison. I would be devastated. Especially if I had small children at home. I am only a viewer and I personally feel the pain this family is experiencing. I know I am not alone in my feelings as many posters feel the same. This is hurting not only the Giudices family, and both sets of parents but it’s hurting all of us.
What these people have done (everyone involved including you Jac whole) is take down a family and give a very skewed opinion on what was going on with the Giudices. They all hated her and it was evident. Not only on the show, on twitter, in mag articles. I mean really.
There is a saying that you feel every ounce of pain you put on every human being before you pass. I would not want to be any of the Guidices friends or family for that much.
The people I feel the most for are Tre’s children, and her parents. Her father is so ill. If anything happens to him I hope Tre goes after every single person involved with guns locked and loaded.

Remember TRE always said that she comes from the traditional Italian family, where the man takes care of the finances. I think TRE signed whatever her husband put in front of her. Now that really is not much if an excuse but I think it is true. I do not think TRE had anything at all to do with their finances until 2010. I have a feeling that TRE will end up being aquitted, and Joe will spend 10 years in a minimum security prison. However, I think those 2 will take down a lot of people with them.

Still team Tre and Juicy ALL THE WAY!! i’ve found myself not even bothering to watch the RHONJ episodes anymore. Actually I seldom even watch Bravo that much quite frankly. So much politics with bitchy Andy Cohen. It’s all favorites for him. He reminds me in a way of Andy Warhol (first name coincidence) because they both favor(ed) the people who kiss their ass the most and while those people think that by being their favorite, that’s what’ll bring them to stardom. In all actuality, the “Andys” just use those people for their own glory and as soon as they’re done with them, they throw them out with the trash. Sorry if that’s confusing but it makes sense in my head lol and if you know anything about Andy Warhol, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I really don’t see a future for that much longer with RHONJ. Three reasons. A.) It’s just getting all too nasty, especially for the viewers, whom they’re losing a lot of including myself. With all the blogs such as this one, no one can stand the way Bravo and the cast is treating Tre. B.) If Tre leaves the show, they definitely will be grasping at straws to come up with exciting storylines for the rest of the clown posse for it to even be considered watchable. Love her or hate her, Tre is the glue that makes the show stick together. Not Don C like Cohen wishes. C.) If they try to bring new cast members on to the show (god knows they can’t get away with a season without Tre) viewers are not going to react well. It just will NOT be RHONJ anymore. So pretty much I think their time is slowly but surely coming to an end. When I do catch the re-runs of this seasons episodes, it’s like beating a dead horse. Stick a fork in them, they’re DONE!

    • August 2, 2013 at 12:00 PM

      @ Sammy

The “Andys” do love them a good freak show. I completely get your analogy of Warhol and Cohen, they both make/made their living exposing others weaknesses/vulnerabilities and are/were very fickle with their affection/allegiance, it seemed… Both devout in their religion- Warhol Byzantine Catholic and Cohen Jewish ( not certain which sect). How fitting that Warhol coined “15 minutes of fame”

One of my favorite David Bowie songs…
