Terra @terrad85 on September 3, 2012, tweeted this question to Andy Cohen:
“If you had to bring back one of the housewives, which one would it be? You may NOT #PleadTheFifth, sorry.”
“Dina and Danielle!”
He then tweeted (to no one in specific):
“Truth is stranger than fiction. And I am reminded of that each and every day at Bravo! Good night.”
“That’s very vague. Be more specific.”
But Andy didn’t respond.
This Twitter exchange between Andy and a fan fuels the rumors that Dina or Danielle, or maybe both, may be returning for season 5.
Andy tweeted a photo and comment on September 7, 2012 (see below), leading viewers to believe that taping for the reunion was in progress. Later that day, Andy tweeted:
“Just wrapped #RHONJ reunion. It was intense, funny, dramatic & VERY EMO. And I have Teresa’s bronzing glitter all over my suit sleeve!! … Man do I need a drink.”
Below are photos tweeted from the Borgato Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ, on the day the reunion special was taping.
Dina made an appearance on season 4 episode 18, which premiered Sunday, September 9, 2012, where she attends Teresa’s Fabellini Launch Party held on October 7, 2011.
Teresa appeared on WWHL after episode 18 premiered. On the WWHL After Show, Andy showed a comment that Teresa made about Danielle which didn’t make air from her one-on-one interview with him (which premiered August 26, 2012):
Teresa: Definitely love and light.
Andy: I’m just impressed that you quoted Danielle.
Teresa: I kinda, I don’t know, I kinda miss… not that I miss… you know what, she did do things to hurt me… not hurt me, she really didn’t hurt me. Look, I stuck by Jacqueline and Caroline, being loyal because they were telling me all this stuff about Danielle, and I really didn’t know Danielle.
Andy: So you’re feeling more of an alliance with Danielle, now, in the rear view mirror.
Teresa: Well, she knew a lot of things about Caroline and Jacqueline, and she, at the reunion show, she kept her mouth shut. She didn’t, you know, let it out. And, you know, that’s something to be said about that.
Danielle tweeted this response (which later was removed from her timeline):
Rumors have been circulating that Bravo may bring back Danielle next season to expose Melissa’s lies. According to Danielle, she has copies of the e-mails that Melissa sent to her from 2009 through 2010. Melissa is the one who told Danielle the lies about Teresa’s home being in foreclosure (which infuriated Teresa during the confrontation with Danielle at the Posche Fashion Show at the end of season 2) and about Teresa not visiting her newborn nephew (which enraged Teresa during the season 2 reunion).
On August 16, 2012, when asked if is she is coming back soon to TV, Danielle tweeted:
“Soon sweetie, I will keep you informed.”
When asked if she thought she’d ever be back on RHONJ, Danielle tweeted:
Danielle tweeted Teresa during her August 7, 2011 guest spot on WWHL, telling her that Melissa had been feeding her information, unsolicited, about Teresa prior to Melissa being cast on the show. Danielle tweeted that Melissa asked her, “Will you help me expose Teresa and Joe please?” and that Melissa “did indeed tell me (about the dirt Danielle brought up about Teresa during reunion 2); how else would I know.”
Danielle tweeted Teresa on August 9, 2011, to tell her that a former executive producer for RHONJ has copies of the emails:
“@AllAboutTRHONJ you do realize I’m not the only one holding that info right??? One other person has it!!!”
According to IMDb, Rebecca Toth was executive producer for 3 episodes of RHONJ in 2010:
– Reunion (2010) (executive producer)
– Babies, Bubbles and Bubbies (2010) (executive producer)
– Generation Vexed (2010) (executive producer)
More tweets from Danielle about Melissa contacting her during season 1 and season 2:
“@JordanMorrris85 yes i did but I had made a promise to not tell bc Melissa didn’t want tre to know about her coming on the show”
“@cdoddsgo @real_housewives @bravoandy @melissagorga she’s busy searching her many lengthy emails to me Andy I told u about this a yr ago”
“@bravoandy @bravotv Maybe I should show everyone what @melissagorga wrote my fb inbox about Teresa?”
“@melissagorga Melissa Did you ever tell Teresa you were contacting me constantly?”
“@melissagorga did you tell tre you wanted to come on w me last season To get back at her”
“@melissagorga and everytime you & Tre’s brother begged me to come on w me – I said no!”
In September 2010, Danielle said that Joe Gorga also contacted her to help take down his own sister:
“Teresa’s brother has been directly contacting me for the past year and a half, letting me know how he feels about his sister.” – Danielle Staub, September 6, 2010, Out.com
At the end of part 2 of the season 2 reunion special (which premiered on September 6, 2010), Danielle hugged it out with Teresa and Jacqueline and called a truce; Caroline refused to accept her apology. Danielle tweeted recently that only Teresa kept her promise for the truce; however, Danielle also tweeted that she would forgive Teresa only if she apologized in person.
In October and November of 2011, Danielle exchanged tweets with a few viewers who surmised that Jacqueline skipped reunion 3 because she was afraid her past as a stripper was going to come out. Danielle tweeted that Jacqueline “needs everyone to love her and if they don’t, she literally destroys them.” Danielle also tweeted that Jacqueline would attack anyone who supported her and that Jacqueline “doesn’t realize how loyalty really works.” She also tweeted that Jacqueline “should spend more time parenting and less time worrying about what Teresa is doing.”
Danielle’s tweets claiming that Jacqueline was a stripper in Las Vegas were in late October 2011; the season 4 episodes where Jacqueline practically forbid Teresa to communicate with Danielle were filmed in early August 2011, a few months earlier. When Danielle outed Melissa in her August 7, 2011 tweets during Teresa’s appearance on WWHL, Teresa tweeted back that she would like to know more about what Danielle had to say, which infuriated Jacqueline because Jacqueline was fearful that Danielle also would reveal all of her secrets.
Other tweets from Danielle about returning to TV:
- In March 2012, Danielle tweeted: “In studio today undisclosed location in nyc – it’ll be a bit longer before I can announce my current project ~ the wait will be worth it!”
- In April 2012, she tweeted a reply to @hollyoliver0822, who asked Danielle if she had anything in the works for TV: “You will see me on your set very soon, currently in production!!” (she later deleted the tweet).
- In May 2012, she tweeted: “Huge announcements coming!! For all who have been so supportive and patiently awaiting my return….. Thank you! The time is near!”
- In June and July 2012 she didn’t tweet anything more about returning to TV.

Bravo Leaks Details from the Reunion
Note: Bravo’s The Dish blog has exclusive details about the reunion. However, the blog has been edited since first being published because of negative comments from viewers. The edited post ends with this statement: “It wasn’t pretty, but as you’ve seen in the past on Jersey, even when there’s massive blowouts that cause major rifts, the old adage of “family is the most important thing” tends to sway things back to a better place. Here’s hoping that can happen.” The unedited version is below.
Inside the ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Reunion
By MikeHess for Bravo
September 12, 2012
It was around 7:45 PM, nine hours into the nearly 13-hour Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion shoot, that a peculiar sense of tension and unease settled into the room at the Borgata Hotel and Casino.
It’s not as though the ‘Wives had been warm and fuzzy up to this point — since the shoot began around 11 AM, screaming and all-out verbal war had been taking place. But now for some reason, there was a creepy buzz in the room … one that you could feel in your gut and on your armhairs that things were about to get ugly.
Yelling. There was so much of it. Tears flowed. Finger-pointing. Insults. Physical appearances, dress choices, literacy levels, parenting style, children’s employment history and family members were mercilessly mocked. Through nearly every second of filming, there was arguing of some sort. Usually these reunions have at least a little element of joking, jovial interactions and light-hearted conversation. This time, not so much.
Think the cameras turning off would put an end to the fireworks? Nope — the screaming matches went long after the “record” button was toggled off, making routine pauses, bathroom and meal breaks a time of eggshell walking for everyone involved. These wounds were pre-existing and deep, and there wasn’t a whole lot to be done when it came to fixing them.
If you read any of the Tweets from the ‘Wives or Andy Cohen this weekend (Sayeth Andy: “OMFG THIS REUNION IS EPIC!!!”), you got the sense that this particular taping was different. It’s that way because all of the women had not been in the same room together since the major drama that will unfold in the season’s final two episodes. Jacqueline Laurita opted out of last season’s reunion — which shot the day after the big incident — and since then, none have had any contact with Teresa Giudice.
That includes her brother Joe and his wife Melissa Gorga, making for hours upon hours of straight-up unprecedented Housewives chaos.
Without giving anything away, it’s safe to say that there’s never been a reunion with so much bad blood or back-and-forth sparring (even in the Danielle Staub days), and it was all either aimed at or coming from Teresa. Her sister-in-law Melissa, who has both the biggest bone to pick as well as the closest family ties with Teresa, took to Twitter to tell her fans that she had to pop a Xanax in between takes because she was getting so riled up. [Note: That was Jacqueline.]
Other times, Jacqueline had to be held back either by Caroline Manzo or her husband Chris to prevent her from leaving the couch as she lurched toward Teresa. There was an exchange between Kathy Wakile and Teresa that escalated so quickly and became so personal that Kathy’s sister Rosie, who was watching from the sidelines, had to walk off set to cool down.
Even Lauren Manzo got in on the action, throwing some particularly pointed insults at Teresa. The incessant yelling-over-one-another went on for so long that near the end, Andy couldn’t even get a question or comment in over the infighting. Clearly, nothing was getting resolved, and if anything the day’s worth of accusations and put-downs had only made things worse.
As for the aforementioned 7:45 turning point of the night — that’s when the husbands took the stage. (Kathy Wakile sent us the pic above of Rich Wakile, Chris Laurita and Joe Gorga in the moments before coming on set) Anyone who watches the show could predict that Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice would likely butt heads. It’s just what they do. So there’s no real shocker that within minutes, the Joes were shouting at one another for dominance and protecting their wives.
The word “stripper” was thrown around dozens of times, and not just the plotline you know about Melissa. Sure, it was petty fighting when it all boiled down, but the aura that overtook the room was one of familial fracture; brother and sister, cousins and long-time friends going past the brink of inconsequential squabbling and into the void of perhaps never being able to repair things ever again.
“I thought we were coming here to have a little fun,” a puzzled Rich Wakile told me as he left the stage. Fun had already cashed in its chips and checked out of the hotel before Friday morning, apparently. And as is the case with many trips to Atlantic City, what everyone thought would be a good old time quickly unraveled into a did-that-really-happen day which left everyone feeling that sting of unexpected loss.
To quote Melissa’s Twitter once again, because it perfectly sums up this impending reunion: “It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”
